Would agree with previous comments 100%. Over rated, over priced and poor facilities.
Much of what was advertised didn’t exist or cost extra. Hotel baby sitters cost €20 hr.
Golden mile is more than a mile away and staff are friendly only when pushed.

The hotel is described as a magnificent resort. It is new and situated on the Golden Mile, Marbella. This means in marketing terms taking taxis. The hotel is furnished a cross between a Habitat store and Ikea store, not very welcoming with small rooms. The facilities... more

Nice hotel, poor location
We had a lovely 1 week stay at the beginning of the school summer holidays (I teach!). The hotel seemed quite quiet - really easy to get a sunbed by the pool - no dash to put out our towels before breakfast! Same applied to the lovely beach - great beach club, comfy loungers and good bar/restaurant. Bit pricey for fairly average food. Hotel menu didn't change all week! The food was delicious but pricey and the menu was very limited. Also, portions a bit on the "nouvelle" side. Rooms were nicely apponted - modern &... more
Disappointing for a 5 star hotel
The location is unfortunately on the 'wrong side' of a busy main road so there is no direct beach access (although there's a shuttle bus to the hotel's own beach). The hotel consists of a couple of buildings, the second of which houses the swimming pool and spa. We were in the main building and access to the swimming pool was via a short walk through the car park. For a 5 star, it just didnt seem attractive enough particularly as the unimaginative, bland architectural style of the buildings made you long to stay at the much more attractive... more
An good FOUR STAR hotel
If the NH Alanda were a Four Star property, I would now be writing an excellent review complimenting the owners on the hotel's modern design, helpful staff, and thoughtful touches. When judged against its Five Star rating however, it is true to say that the Alanda lacks some of the "sparkle" that one would normally expect from a hotel in this class. Certainly on arrival the modern buildings are impressive, but it quickly becomes apparent that this property lacks any distinctive character of its own. Although the entrance to each... more
Not 5 star
We were in Marbella for the 1st time. The check in staff were friendly and helpful. We were in the main building. The rooms smart but were showing a lot of small signs of ware & tare. There was a lot of noise heard from rooms on either side, such as doors closing, normal conversations.
Worst ever Christmas Holiday
In December this hotel was partially closed and a number of facilities described on the web site was not available. No celebration of Christmas Whatsoever,no entertainment,no shops or anything to do closebye. Eighteen euros for a whisky, so you could not spend much time in the bar, which never had more than five guests in all the time we were staying . Was so bored with the place we checked out two five days early and booked flights home at an extra expense of £210.Maybe this hotel is ok for a business trip stopover, but not... more
Five Stars???????
The nearest this hotel gets to 5* is being located opposite the Puente Romano Hotel ! It can only be described as not being very well thought out, with three blocks, either housing rooms overlooking the pool ( block 3), the road ( block 2) and the reception, restaurant and breakfast area (block 1) which also overlooks the main road. The rooms are nicely decorated and a good size, but that's where the praise ends. The service is non existent. We waited at breakfast for over 20 mins just to get a cup of tea/coffee. The next day we tried... more
Fabulous!
My wife and I loved this place. The on-site spa was awesome -- large outdoor pool, heated hydromassage pool indoors, plus hot tub, super-hot soaker tub, sauna, steamroom, and cool-room. All co-ed, so I got to share the sauna experience with my wife instead of some naked fat guy. Gym was great too. Rooms were amazingly clean and modern. Extremely comfortable, even by US standards. We stayed in the main building, which I'd highly recommend, since that is where the (awesome) breakfast buffet is served. The... more
Wondeful Place - highly recommended
Wonderful establishment; clean rooms and overall nice value. Bar at the Sea has a problem with service and their sense of organization... had a problem, wrote a complaint and decided to take our business somewhere else. Pool was well kept, breakfast was wonderful and the person who helped with the chairs by the sea was very helpful and friendly. When we go back to Spain we would very much like to stay at your property again. Beach is about a quarter mile south of the property but to get there you need to walk down a gorgeous tree... more
Just for being on the 'Golden Mile'...
It's the third time we stay in this Hotel. The first time it was brand new, just opened and we found it great, with everyone very kind and meticulous. The second time was in June 2005 and the hot season was not started yet. They put us in the block on the pool and we found it disappointing because it seems to be in a dependance outside the hotel, without a reception desk and no one warming you when you come into your room. Moreover, we were watching TV at 1 o'clock am and at normal loudness, when a phone call from the reception... more
Bonking Neighbours, yes!
We stayed here for a week on Vacation in June 2005, we were unfortunate enough to stay during a week long work conference for some Spanish/Portugese company I had never heard of. This group dominated the hotel, the rooms, the pool and that rather spoilt it for us. However, if you manage to catch the hotel without a conference then all in all it's a pretty decent hotel. You have to forgive the fact its a new hotel and the staff seem to not be 100% sure what they are doing. The rooms are clean, and pleasant with modern interiors. They... more
