Unfortunately, I did. Travelling with two small children (1 ½ and 4 ½), we booked it as part of a pre-paid holiday package. It cost us £1500 for two weeks, so about £100 per day. At this price, it was... disappointing is about the mildest I can say. There is no... more

Whilst we are always watching our pennies when it came to booking our honeymoon for 2 weeks from 26th August, we chose to go somewhere a little different from our usual - playa del ingles gran canaria- well, I couldn't have chosen a better place to go. We always do go for... more

Went to check in, saw the cockroach and decided against it! Wasn't prepared to sleep in a jail cell, don't live in a slum at home don't intend to stay in one.

We booked this holiday fairly late - 3 weeks before departure after reading generally good reviews and getting a good value deal. The apartments are a bit dated but very spacious and well equiped (for a 2 star). The kitchen is more than adequete for cooking simple lunches... more

The accomodation was clean tidy and had a maid who came each day apart from Sundays. Only one small towel per person was given to us, caused an issue with our teenage girls. The rooms were upstairs to the appartment and there was a bathroom there, with another one... more

Stayed for a week at Vigilia Park in a two bed roomed apartment. Complex is tidy and clean though attention to detail is a little lacking. Apartment was cleaned regularly but we had ants in the kitchen. Pools are small and can get a little crowded. Lots of noisy kids there... more

Fantastic views, great location
This was our second stay at Vigilia Park. We had a fantastic duplex room with views of the Los Gigantes cliffs. The kitchen was well equipped, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the cleaning service was excellent. We made good use of both pools, our favourite being the 4th floor pool where we also enjoyed coffees and ice creams at the bar. Vigilia Park is conveniently located between Puerto de Santiago and Los Gigantes, which has the advantage of being close to shops, restaurants and bus routes. Unfortunately, this means it can be a little noisy as there are many bars nearby offering live music. Overall, Vigilia Park is a really nice place to stay and we are already planning our next visit.
Value for money
This Aparthotel ticked most of the boxes. Clean comfortable apartment with all facilities. Very friendly and efficient staff. Can't comment on the food as we were self catering but we did consider changing to HB as it all looked quite nice with different menues every night. The location was quite superb; being in a hilly area but there is a bus stop outside the front entrance which enabled us to fully appreciate the excellant bus service. One tip for sunlovers, avoid the ground level pool which is mostly in shadow and take advantage of the roof top facility. View from up there is fantastic.
Nice apart-hotel basic but clean
We stayed at this apart-hotel from 26th October to 2nd November. The hotel is located in the Los Gigantes area of Tenerife. The hotel has 2 buildings of 4 stories. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment (some of these have spiral staircases which are not suitable for young children). However, we stayed in number 142 which was a 2 bedroomed unit without stairs (we asked apon reservation for one without stairs). The living room had an american style kitchen with electric hob. There was a sofa bed in the living room and a large balcony (4 metres, (13 feet) long. The bed rooms consisted of 1 twin room and 1 double, both with plenty of closet space. There was also a safe in the twin but we didn't get the key for it. We had an ant problem (but they are really tiny) and we didn't eat in the apartment so it wasn't really a problem for us. The hotel has 2 swimming pools one next to the restaurant and one on the roof of one of the buildings. The one next to the restaurant was supposedly heated but after swimming in it I can assure you it was not (much colder than the sea). Both pools aren't non-swimmer friendly as they both are over 1.65m deep with no sloping sides. There are 2 bar snacks areas (I didn't try anything) and a restaurant. We tried the restaurant one night my friends going for the buffet, they were disappointed in the food. The french fries were overcooked and dry and their was a distinct lack of vegetables (broiled peppers were the only choice), however they all agreed that the fish and pork was very nice. I had the steak which was cooked perfectly and very nice. The hotel is over a shopping complex and it conviently located next to shops, taxis and a cash machine. However the nearest beach (black sand) is a 7 minute walk down a steep hill. Or the main beach (again black sand) is Playa de Arena a 12 minute walk downhill (taxis are available to get back for around 4 euros.) Although the taxi drivers will not take you if you have 1 grain of sand on you so beware if you intend to go on the beach. Overall I enjoyed by stay there which was given as a present, but would probably choose something nearer the beaches were I to stay again.
