I don't know where the previous guy went but it can't have been the same hotel. We went to the Sea Life for two weeks and it was fantastic.
The hotel and grounds were pristine with staff working around the clock to keep it that way. The staff were fantastic, we went with our 6 year old and all the waiters played with her constantly.
The food was great as long as your idea of haute cuisine isn't macdonalds... There was always a huge choice of food and all beautifully presented. The highlights were the wonderful breads and the amazing pastries at breakfast. At lunchtimes we often ate by the pool for convenience (burgers pizza and chips) but I would have happily eaten at the main restaurant. We also tried the lebanese and japanese restaurants and both were excellent and great value for money.
Yes, you will get asked on a regular basis whether you want to have a massage etc but if you politely said no they went away. I don't know whether the guy got confused about the camel ride but it was more likely to be 50 egyptian pounds (a fiver).
the room was really nice with an enormous king size bed that was supremely comfortable and the air conditioning in the room was fierce.
The beach was gorgeous and so clean, the staff clear all litter including cigarette ends off the beach. You do need to wear reef shoes in the water as there are spiny sea urchins in the shallows but the fish you can see even in the shallow water are amazing.
Yes we all got slightly bad stomachs while we were there but that could have just as easily been due to the heat (it was high thirties to mid forties). We went to the pharmacist in the hotel and bought antibiotics over the counter and were right as rain in 24 hours.
The cosmos rep (Mahmoud) was lovely and really helpful.
We went on 4 trips:
Cairo (by plane) - this was superb and a real lifetime experience.
St Catherine's Monastery and Dahab - again superb, saw the burning bush (now extinguished) and the trip was worth it for the amazing drive through the desert.
Stargazer night - we went for dinner with the bedouins then looked at the stars and planets through large telescopes in the desert with an astronomy guide. We also went for a camel ride (an extra 7 english pounds). It was one of the most uncomfortable experiences ever but you've got to do it!
Snorkelling trip to Ras Mohammes National park - again excellent trip, 3 guided snorkels from a dive boat with lunch included. We saw clown fish (nemo), puffer fish and all sorts of amazing bright coloured fish.
All in all it was our best ever holiday and we will be going back to the same hotel next summer. I hope people are not put off by mr macdonalds (unless that is what you like, then I suggest a hotel in Naama Bay).

As usually you can get half of good and half of bad opinions about some hotels.
Last summer my Partner took me to Sharm El Sheikh for my birthday and I can tell you that I really enjoyed there. The hotel is superb, room service as well, good food and wide variety of it, beautiful gardens, attracting diving, coral reefs and snorkelling.
The staff is young people from different countries (Italy, Russia, Ukraine...) and it was more interesting because I can speak Russian fluently. They were organising some cocktail games, water games, water aerobics and gifts for the bests.
Every evening we were watching live show performances on the stage, after which people has being invited to go the night clubs together.
It was great time. Believe me. I'm looking forward to go to the Egypt again. Probably I'll choose another hotel for variety.
Anyway, anybody who's going to the Sea Life Resort good luck and have a good time.

We arrived at the hotel which was very close to the airport but still took an hour to drop us off, got into reception where they give us our room keys, towel cards and wrist bands, we were taking to our room then which was very basic and had two single beds which were separated which always winds me up.
it was time for tea so we went to the main restaurant and had to wait for a table, we were not sure on what we had to do as we were taking to a table and asked what drinks we wanted, we then decided it must be buffet style and had a look at the food, i could not believe how bad the food was it was all fish based and not nice at all, no chips, pizzas or anything, everything we ate give us a bad stomach and everyone was the same including our rep. for breakfast you could have an omelette or eggs but everything else was really bad, no bacon or any pork product at all, sausages were these little red things that were gross and even the little butters were on ice so u could not spread it on your toast that was a pain. we managed to find a maccys at nama bay in the town which is about 30 mins away in a taxi but trust me once you go to nama bay you will never return with people trying to drag you in shops and locking you in until you spend your money.
The hotel looked nice and the weather was always fantastic, the beach is a bit rubbish and you cant really go out as its all rocky unless you have the right footwear.
WATCH OUT FOR THE GUY ON THE CAMEL!!!! - he will force you on it and try and charge you 50 English pounds which he did to my gf. i gave him $22 and said I'd give him the rest later and didn't but he gave chase every time we went on the beach, it wouldn't bother me if i was in england as i'd of kicked him in but as i was there and it was our first day i didn't want to get us in trouble or kicked out the hotel so we stayed away.
Luckily we met a couple of English on our coach who were at our hotel who stayed for a week but apart from a few others it was all Italians and Germans which was a pain as we had no one to talk to until a Scottish family arrived.
We enjoyed the final when the Germans got beat in the football, as we could get served at the bar then with ease lol.
You could never just relax there with staff trying to sell you trips, hair cuts, massages, sushi, chicken, water melon, and loads of other things, we bought one trip off them and my gf had a massage just to shut them up but they still carried on trying to sell you more which was a pain.
Trips - We went on 3 trips :-
Water Park - This was ok i suppose but not much there, we booked it with thomas cook and had to get our own taxi there and back, there was about 6 water slides and and wave pool and if i knew i wouldnt of bothered.
Sea Scope - We enjoyed this, you get dropped off at a restaurant were they try and sell you loads of rubbish and order a drink which always costs a bomb as they never have any change out there. and we got a photo. The boat was cool and we saw many different types of fish and a barracuda which was interesting. had no toilets on the boat but i survived thank god. this is a good trip
Quads - This is a must, the best part of my holiday by far, you dress up as osma bin laden and drive through the sania desert which was great with a few stop offs, just take water with you as when you try and bye pop off the tribal people its bubbling hot as they don't have any fridges.
If you do this trip you can get Amir down to 20 quid each, hes a top guy, there is some nice Egyptians but not many lol
We were going to go to Cairo to see the pyramids but the planes were on strike and we would of had to go by coach which was 6hrs there and back so decided to leave it. we did see them on the flight home when looking out the window which was cool.
Phoning and Internet
You can take your mobile with you, think its about 1pound a minute and 50p a message so not too bad. and they have the internet there which is $4 for 30 mins, be warned the internet is slow and just stressed me out more
The animation team
They are ok, dont really bother with the english much but i didnt mind that, didnt fancy doing yoga or belly dancing so was happy with that. they also do the shows at night which a load of rubbish.
If you drink you will cry when you get there as the bar stops serving at 11pm unless you pay and all the spirits taste the same as each other, the wine tastes like vinegar but the beers not too bad.
Pools - the pools are nice but always freezing, takes a while to get in, i think a lot of the bugs where transfered through the pool as i don't think they had chlorine in and everyone seemed to be ill.
I wouldn't advise this holiday to anyone, I recommend the Dominican its so much better and I've booked it for feb, i lost so much weight in the 2 weeks in sharm it was scary suppose if you want to be a size zero it would be ideal.
Had my moan now so if you have booked it good luck and hope you make it back alive

This hotel is kept very clean, and the staff are all polite.
The themed evenings in the resturant are very good, with the staff dressing up in the
selected theme custumes (Greek, American, Lebenese, Indian etc). This sometimes is amusing and adds to your holiday enjoyment.
Everything required for your holiday is here. Beach within 200 metres of your room, with ample sun beds. A large pool again with ample sun beds. You can also use the amenities of her sister hotel Sea Club again very good.
The only problem was the animation team, who seemed to leave the British alone, and concentrated more on the Italian and German residents.
Visted the Cleo Water Park, this is a must. The Star Gazer/Camel ride was excelllent.
You are approx 20min away from Namma Bay, busy but worth a couple of visits.
If you have never visited Eygpt before, like my party, we would recommend this complex as a base. Or alternatively just stay and soak up the sun by the pool or beach.
YOU MUST GO SNORKLING, just to swim with the fish is a must. IT IS AS RELAXING AS JUST SUN BATHING.
One of the things no-one tells you is that you don't need to take Eygption Pounds with you (well not in large amounts) as most (ALL) shops will accepts Sterling Pounds, Euro and Dollars. So may I suggest you take sterling with you in demonination of £5, £10 and £20 only. Also if you have a favourite drink, it might be advisable to buy this in the UK for consumption in Sharm, as exported drinks are expensive.
Enjoy Sharm El Sheikh before it becomes too commercial.

My husband myself and our 3 children age 15, 12, 9 have just come back from 2 weeks at the Sea Life hotel and what can I say about it, but fantastic from the start to the end.
When we arrived we were checked in straight away and taken to our rooms it was late, so we got up the next day to a great breakfast.
There is something for everyone, we then went for the sun beds by the pool and they are so comfy and they are free and so are the padded mattresses on them.
Even the safe in the room is free everyone at the hotel is so friendly and helpful it is so clean from the hotel grounds right to your room, which is cleaned every day.
We gave the cleaner of the room a really well deserved tip. We went for dinner and tea all of which was beautiful, there are plenty of drinks all day from water to pop and beer and spirits.
Then there is the animation team called freak animation, well they are simply the best animation team ever. They really made us and our children feel special. We didn’t want to come home, they get the children doing all sorts of activities all day and night everyday.
If you want a cheap holiday this is the one because you really struggle to spend any money at all, you just buy anything in the end to say that you have something.
The hotel also has its own private beach that you can go snorkelling in to see the beautiful fish and coral up close.
We have been all over the world but this is one holiday that will stick in our minds and we will definitely be going back to this hotel.
We had nothing but fun and then there’s the fantastic weather, which was about 105 - 115 everyday oh and yes, while we were there England had their floods for the whole of our 2 week so we missed them.
We read some of the bad reviews about this hotel but we still went, and we are so glad that we did, so don’t believe the bad reviews go and give it a go, and you will be glad that you did you’ll want to go back.
The only people that complain about this are the ones that complain about any holiday no matter where it is because this is one place that you can’t fault at all.
Thanks freak animation and all the staff at sea life for a great holiday.

Apartments were beautiful, and were cleaned daily. Cleaners would do more than just clean and leave beautifully arranged flowers in your room or fold the bed covers decoratively and differently each day.
The hotel resort itself was absolutely stunning. The pools were beautiful with lots of different nooks and crannies to shade from the sun, either up high above the pools with beautiful views to eat your lunch, or caves below.
You had your own personal beach at the end of your pool also. Fresh hot towels were supplied by the pool each day, and magazines/books etc. The pools were kept very clean, and the whole complex also. Bar/food/ice cream etc on offer. The complex had its own souvenir shops, clothes shops etc and chemist.
The sister hotel, Sea Club had a good gym, with sauna etc. You could play football with other tourists and the reps once a week, and daily the reps offered stretching, aqua aerobics and belly dancing classes. Plenty scuba diving on offer also.
The restaurant was magnificent, offering dinners every night from a range of cultures - Turkish/Spanish/French food etc. Breakfasts were plentiful, as was lunch. There was so much food on offer to suit everyone. Beautiful displays were carved out of food daily. The staff were very professional and friendly.
There was also a separate Japanese restaurant. The only disappointment was the wine, which tasted like chlorine, therefore it would be advised to bring your own from the airport.
At night, you could sit by the lit pool or there were evening shows put on for kids or singers/piano players for adult entertainment, and there was a pool room. Taxis were on hand to take you out to the town, but it wasn't best advised - plus the cars (and drivers) looked a bit dodgy.
A good mix of tourists - mostly Italian, German, Russian, Polish and us Scots and a few Irish.

The hotel was first class and they could not be faulted. The staff were very friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you. In our party of 4, 1- lady did not drink enough in the day and fainted in the toilet (she is tee total) the doctor was called and arrived in 15 minutes and also made a repeat visit and with medicine and visits the bill was £50-00 aprox. A wheelchair was collected by the tour operated the next day but with a flat tyre and within 1 hour of mentioning it to the restaurant manager it was collected and return, as good as new. The gardens and the apartments were very well maintained and kept very clean.
The only reason I would not go back is the airport which is like a cattle market totally disorganised and very hot, it seemed that all incoming and outgoing flights were put in a 3- hour slot.

My boyfriend and I (22 yrs old) stayed at the Sea Life from July 13-27 2006 and on the whole we had a fabulous time. The resort is only 10 mins from the airport - thankfully, as we had a late flight and only got to reception at half 11 at night. Check in was a little slow, but there was only one guy on as it was late.
We were shown to our room and a porter took our cases separately (we paid him 10LE - about £1). Room was spacious with double bed, fridge, balcony overlooking the pool (despite our request of a sea view to Thomas Cook) and a small bathroom - well, shower room as they don’t do baths!
We were in block 6 which is only one block from the beach so we weren't that fussed about our pool view. There was no food available at the time of arrival so make sure you buy some before you go if you're arriving late. We were tired so went straight to bed. We found that our TV wasn’t working, and, although we didn’t think we would be watching it that much, we called reception and they sent a guy to fix it immediately - around midnight! It's a good job we did, as we really needed is later on, as I will explain.
The hotel is beautiful - including the Sea Club which is attached (a little smarter looking but we didn’t venture very far from our part so I can’t give a good description). Beach was wonderful - the snorkelling is fantastic! I’m not really a sea fan but I was truly amazed at what we could see simply by walking a few steps from our sun beds - the coral starts immediately, so make sure you have coral shoes to protect your feet. We tried all the bars and restaurants - our fave by far was the Lebanese (El Dewania). Fabulous food, and it's about the only thing that didn’t make us ill, as it's local rather than imported.
Ahmed was wonderful - give him lots of tips! Somehow we both developed gastroenteritis on our 4th day, and it didn’t leave us until our last day (typical!). Now we aren’t sure if it came from food or from dehydration, so I won’t blame the restaurant! We were told to eat soup, boiled chicken, bread and cheese - and that we did, which kept our strength up. The doctor charged us just over £50 in total for 2 consultations and 2 sets of medicine. Everyone helped us as much as possible - one night we had booked the Lebanese restaurant and Ahmed brought our food to our room and prepared it there instead - bless him!
Another night we called reception and they brought us a huge tray of chicken soup, bread and fruit. The TV certainly came in handy - we watched Oprah on channel 4 and found a great film channel on 34 which kept us sane in the days we couldn’t leave the room. Apart from our illness we had a great time (that and the pitiful animation staff - one of whom thought it was hilarious to throw you in the pool if you didn’t want to join their salsa/volleyball/party game, and I can tell you I was not impressed to be picked up after having been persuaded to leave the room and have a bit of time by the pool - the last thing you need when you are ill is to be made to feel bad for not wanting to jump around!)
Entertainment at night was pretty dire - Italian, Russian and Dutch animation team - one night they even went through all the countries to see who was at the show.. German, Russian, Italian, they even asked is there was anyone from Siberia - but guess which country they forgot.. Yes, the UK - we felt so welcome!! We were really in the minority, but it wasn’t too bad as we had a glass or two of the pharaoh’s wine (on all inclusive - possible what made us ill!!) and it seemed more bearable!
Sharm is gorgeous - naama bay leaves a lot to be desired - lots of florescent lights and really a bit tacky - though it was a saviour for our stomachs when we needed to eat something we knew wouldn’t make us ill, we headed to the Hard Rock Cafe and finally enjoyed a full meal.
We did the flight trip to Cairo, a boat trip to Ras Mohammed National Park and we climbed Mount Sinai to see the sunrise. If anyone wants any info (or pics of the hotel) please email: lkahooper@hotmail.com
Have a great time - Egypt is fab, and the Sinai coast is beautiful. Despite our illness I would return to Sharm.

Just returned from S.E.S. on Sunday 18 march ,we had a fantastic time, the flight from Bristol took about 5 hours we flew with air Malta it was ok, not a lot of leg room though so if you have long legs like me pray the person in front doesn’t want a knap.
Food wasn’t bad only a small selection of duty free, on the way back they would only accept cash for duty free no credit or debit cards, seemingly there is a shortage of computers. At the airport if you are staying in Sharm there is no need to get a visa provided you stay within the Sinai area.
I helped a nice couple who were going to the Hilton in Dahab, they saved 30 pounds (lady with the green coat) you know who you are.
We pre ordered a private taxi, half expecting a 4 seater, I could not believe my eyes when we were helped aboard a 27 seater luxury coach, we had the same on the return journey all to ourselves. The sea life is only about 15 to 20 minutes drive from the airport the cost of a local taxi is 3 pounds sterling or 30le, the staff at reception were very efficient and helpful, we were taken to our room then shown to the dining room so we could have our evening meal.
The meals were good a nice variety something for everyone no matter how fussy you are, we actually had beef Wellington and roast duck on the same night.
They have a pizza/burger bar by the swimming pool its ok but don’t turn your back or the little birds will have it.
On the beach your drinks are all free but if you want food you have to pay, a big pizza with chips is about 6 pounds. On the beach you have to be careful there are there are odd bits of coral lying about buried in the sand.
The gardens were very well cared for and beautifully laid out the staff did a wonderful job looking after them.
The sports bar is big and spacious with 2 pool tables.
The pool area is laid out nicely a lot of Italian and Russians here but a few Brits as well, they have belly dancing by the pool which is good fun to watch, the animation team were excellent and put on some good shows.
You are allowed to use the facilities of the sea club next door
(sister hotel) its 5 star a bit bigger but more Russians than we had a lot of guests from the sea club used to use the sea life because it was less noisy.
Shopping there is a free bus twice a day from the hotel to Naama bay we went in the night wasn’t to impressed reminded me to much of Blackpool I think it would have been nicer during the day, there are some lovely shopping centers there as well as the duty free shop, but make sure if you want to get duty free you get it within 48 hours of arriving you wont get it on your third or fourth day I know.... I tried.
Cigarettes are very cheap 3 pounds 50pence for 200 Cleopatra lights similar to silk cut..
Local beer is Sakara or Luxor (lager) not bad, drink plenty of water as well it gets very hot from 12noon onwards.
Rooms were spacious, cleaned every day, tip the cleaner 50pence on arrival and he will do some nice shapes with the towels on your bed. If you go to the sea life spend some time with Mustafa, he makes the sand bottles, he is a good laugh, also Omar who works in the jeweler shop in reception both speak very good English.
All in all I enjoyed my stay in the sea life nice and relaxing, why not try it and see.
Happy holidays.
John Stewart.

Before we went to Egypt i read some of the reviews on here about this particular hotel and it was a very mixed bag. so we went thinking 'i'm sure it will be fine'. all i can say now is... not really! The hotel itself is set in absolutley beautiful grounds which are fantastic for picture taking! the rooms are clean and quite spacious and adequete for two adults. the beds are single beds which can't be joined together very easily which is a bit frustrating, however, you tend to get that in alot of hotels in holiday destinations. Also the beach, which is actually on the complex, is lovely. just watch out for people trying to offer you "free this and that" cos its generally not free. even an egyptian man on a camel will try and charge you to take pictures etc.. (he does frequent the beach every day)
We felt that we made the most of a bad sitution on this holiday. There wasn't many english speaking people working or staying at this hotel, so for us to resolve any of our problems was pretty much impossible. my husband and i both suffered sickness and upset stomachs whilst away (and are still suffering now along with dehydration). there is a pharmacy on site, so on our second day, feeling very poorly i went to see what i thought was a pharmacist (later found out he wasn't) and he charged me £21.00 for some tablets that didn't even work. I felt very vunerable and wasn't too familiar with the currency when i bought them, i could've kicked myself afterwards though! there are a few shops on the complex, all of which once the shopkeeper has you in , he won't let you go! we were going to dinner one evening and this really pleasant man was so happy to see english people, "could we sign his guest book?" we were very wary but said yes! he then got quite abusive when he shut the door trying to get us to purchase fragranced oil. after that, we never went near any shops and of course, there was no guest book! you have to barter everything, even at the shops on the hotel grounds, so if you thought the hotel shops would be hassle free they're not.
The taxi's to Naama Bay are more expensive when you book them at the hotel, so don't book a return! just barter with a taxi driver in naama bay.
The food was ok. just ok. there is not alot of choice and if you don't like cakes there are no alternative desserts! its themed every night (countries from around the world) but you could argue that, cos alot of its not themed at all! all inclusive ends at 11pm, which would be a problem most places, but here the evening entertainment is so bad that unless you go into naama bay, theres nothing to do after your evening meal! we were in bed at 10pm most nights and as a young couple we were very dissapointed. we won't be going back to this hotel or Egypt again!
