Just had to write a few reviews on websites after returning from the Blue Sea Kon Tiki apartments in Lanzarote this week. We travelled as a party of 5 (aged between 26 and 32 male and female) The apartments are very clean, all amenities work fine, reception staff very helpful. The pool area is fully cleaned EVERY night. Apartments cleaned along with full towel change/bedding every second day. We never had a problem getting x5 sun beds together as there is a seperate area on top of the actual hotel where you over look the beach with plenty of sun beds, along with around the pool (Fantastic for tanning and great views too!) We couldnt of been any closer to the main strip (50 yards uphill max) I very much recomend this hotel, I for one am quite fussy when it comes to things like having a decent power shower and clean floors/bedding but we really couldnt of asked for anymore especially for the price we paid (£100 each for 10 days) Just about to try and book for January in the same apartments, we wont bother looking anywhere else now we have found this little gem!

We stayed in Kon Tiki apartments 13/7/11-20/7/11 our 1st time staying there 4th time bk to Lanza Bad points The killer hill Nightmare especially as we had a baby and pushing that stroller up and down many times a day with bags was not fun. We used the back way up sumtimes by the Irish Viking which was a little easier with added time tho. No air conditioning which was a disgrace we were suffocating and with the baby was soo un healthy We got a fan which helped a little at a cost of 20 euro which was a JOKE Warmer inside than it was outside. No kettle/Toaster 8 euro p/w to hire JOKE We used pots to boil water No entertainment Pool bascic Bar bascic We were on ground floor which to the pool was 70 steps up no short cut Joke especially with baby Asked for diff room but deneid. Receptionist with blonde hair/glasses must have hated her job as she had no manners and was so ignorent moody and un helpful towards the other receptionist was a lot nicer and helpful. Good points Good location, clean linen provided 3 times a wk Overall we will not be going back there to stay again

we had heard before staying here that it was awful, so went expecting the worst and were pleasantly surprised! considering what we payed (73 euros for 5 of us to go self catered for a week) the value was amazing. on arrival, there were some problems with the room we originally booked so we were immediately offered 2 adjacent one bedroom apartments instead of one 2 bedroom apartment which turned out to be even better as we had more space. for what we wanted it was perfect, clean and roomy with fresh towels and cleaning supplied twice during the week. i would not recommend this to families or those wanting top quality accommodation,as yes there was the odd bug around and the rooms were a tad old fashioned and in need of rennovating but if you are looking for cheap basic accommodation then it's perfect. the location was amazing, right in the middle of the action about 2 minutes from the main strip, which for a group of 18 year old girls was exactly what we needed!! the extra facilities were great, fab pool and terrace overlooking the sea, fantastic for sunbathing. all the staff were very friendly and helpful and if i went back to lanzarote i would definitely stay here as i don't know where you would find better value for money! so my advice would be to all young people looking to book a holiday here, this is the hotel for you and ignore all the bad reviews as if you are not fussy you will not be able to pick fault with these apartments. had the best holiday ever here and would go back without doubt, the nightlife is amazing, some bars staying open as late as 6 with brilliant drinks deals (2 for 1 drinks, free cocktails and shots at happy hour). so if you're looking for a guys/girls holiday puerto del carmen is deffo the perfect place and these apartments are the best for sure!!

lovely place to stay all the rooms are kept nice and clean the best thing about this complex is the gallery bistro and pool bar, kenny and tracy the new owners are very welcoming and are lovely people there food is EXCELENT! i would never go to another place in lanzerote but this one the staff are lovely hellen is mad but she knows how to have a good time, TOP place to stay i would give it a 5 star! live entertainment, karaoke, live singer on sundays, bingo quizzes the lot!! love it hear can not wait to go back!

Just returned with my family after staying in the Kon Tiki apartments, we had a great time. The staff are very welcoming. The apartment we had was great as we have young kids and it was right next to the children's pool, so we could sit in the apartment and watch the kids in the pool. Definately would go back!!

Just got back from kon tiki apts. Stayed 1 week b & b 25 mar to 1 apr 2011. Arrived just turn 2pm told room was having maintenance. Moved to Los Fiscos apts in old town for one night or more had we not complained. The Fiscos is not for anyone who dislikes hills, steps or smelly rooms. If you only require views of other buildings this is great.
When we finally got our room after being promised a decent room because of the inconvienance this did not happen. During are stay we were privy to a lot of guests complaining over many things from the lack of room service, missing items that are promised in their advert and other guest that were moved with different reasons to ours. We found out later that the kon tiki was not full or even having any room maintenance. It does though regularly over book! Our room was not cleaned once, no sheet changes or bins emptied and when the maid did arrive on the sixth day it was 5pm. thankfully we are clean and tidy people.
Apart from these problems the British catering staff and this includes the bar staff are a fantastic team they are a credit to their trade. This is only because they are independant and called the 'Gallery'. the food was great. The management of the hotel need to take a leaf out of their book and this place would be second to none.

The Kon Tiki staff were very friendly and helpful. The views and location was perfect. Rooms cleaned every 2 days and fresh towels. The apartments are just across the strip from the beach. Any information you need about the island is all in the lobby, but its when you go into The Gallery Pool Bar and Restaurant is when your holiday begins!! Owned by Tracy and Kenny, along with Jude and Helen is when your welcome to Lanzarote starts! They make you feel like a part of their family. Their meals (cooked by Kenny) are above any 5 star hotel. Very clean, fresh food and absolutely brilliant service. If we had have stayed anywhere else we would not have had such a great holiday. We will be back to Kon Tiki aslong as Tracy and Kenny, Jude and Helen are still there.

when we arrived we was quite happy with apartments we knew that the weather was not going to be the best and was prepared for that then it rained and rained we got up in the morning to water all over floor water was pouring in through light fixtures and cracks in the ceilings running down walls onto furniture then bathroom and bedroom all electrics blew luckily none of our belongings was damaged we went to inform the reception which is where it started going wrong they told us there was not much they could do as they was full and there was people worse than us and to put our belongings on bed in middle of room and leave doors open we packed up our stuff and moved it into a neibours apartment we left it for 9 hours and went back to reception they gave us key back we went to apartment and it was same as when we left it they had obviously forgot about us we went back told them we cannot stay there with the state its in the woman rudely said you should be patient we dont normally have this weather after another hour they had another room ready which was at bottom of complex and it smelt terrible damp and musty we had had enough complaining so just stayed there the day after they had put another family in that room which clearly was not fit for use so dissapointed with the staff attitudes other than that the holiday would have been great we are used to rain and wind and hill did not bother us worked off breakfast ready for dinner

Went on a budget.Was not expecting much and they still failed to deliver!
Dont be fooled by any pictures the pool is tiny!
We have two girls 9 and 4 months and were given a ground floor apartment with two entrances at the entrance end of the pool.
IT WAS A NIGHTMARE!
People smoking dope!
No privacy!
We virtually could not use our apartment with the door or curtains open!Just what you need in a place with no air conditioning!
As I say we are experienced travellers and were not expecting much!
The resort itself has declined since I was last here into a nasty place to avoid.
The sea front is a constant battle of shadey BRITISH people hawking overpriced resterants.
AVOID THIS RESORT AT ALL COSTS!TRY TURKEY ITS NICER FOR THE MONEY.

I recently stayed in these apartments last week and they were great we had a 1 bed apartment which was a good large size the bathroom was in need of upgrading but everything else was fab. The hill is steep but there is a gate near the bottom you can use to get in. Booking again to stay in Febuary i wouldnt stay anywhere else.
