I would never return to Kon Tiki apartments, or Lanzarote as I found them to be in dire need of refurbishment.
We arrived at midday, and found the place crawling with cockroaches, we advised reception about this and their response was to hand us a can of insect repellent!
The kitchen badly needed modernisation, and the bathroom leaked! Our terrace was so small that only one person could stand on it at one time. The pool area was very nice and very clean, and very well kept.
I found the whole area around the Kon Tiki most unsavory, it was noisy at night, with tacky shops, and every restaurant was the same.
Lanzarote has no culture to speak of, there are no attractions to visit except the house of César Manrique which was beautiful. We found the whole Island to be infested with cockroaches! The beaches leave a lot to be desired, they are clean, but have no character, or golden sad like in other area's of Spain. We visited Playa Blanca for one day, and thought it was much nicer than PDC. I will never visit Lanzarote again, it was the most disappointing holiday we've ever had.

Superb Apartments Ideally located friendly staff clean apartments and pool will definitely be traveling back within the year
On arrival there was a bottle of champagne in our room. We had a well equipped kitchen and a lovely bathroom with piping hot water. When we arrived the lock on our bathroom would not work and within 10 minutes it was fixed. The pool was cleaned every evening and the apartment was also cleaned daily clean towels and beds made.
there is a steep hill up to the apartment cardiac hill as known but it only takes about 3 minutes to get up and 3 minutes to get your breath back but it way out does the pros and cons and it is worth it for the view you have from your apartment.
Can’t wait to go back in August.

This was our first time in Puerto del Carmen & I can say we weren’t disappointed. We thought the resort had loads to offer from activities to do on the beach, to going on some of the tours to the cactus gardens, Tinaman Fire Mountains, Wineries etc.
The resort itself could do with a bit of a clean parts of it were quite scruffy looking but this was mainly the shop fronts & the pavements could do with some repairing.
We stayed at the Kon Tiki apartments which are in the New Town central to the beach, restaurants, bars etc. There was 24 hr reception & the staff were very friendly & their English was good, there was also internet access at a small cost.
We stayed in a 1 bed apt facing the pool, the apt was very clean & the kitchen facilities were really good.
There was a snack bar during the day which wasn't too bad; I wasn't too fussed about the restaurant on the premises. The pool area is really nice with great views over the sea.
I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone as there location is really good, & its only 20 min walk into the Old Town.
We will be going back in 2007 & I hope to stay at these apartments again.
