Our room was spacious even with 4 occupants and the sofa bed out. The bathroom was excellently appointed with a huge powerful shower and was kept immaculately clean. Hanging space was more than adequate with plenty of hangers and shelves.
Restaurant was excellent with buffet including a carvery and a different theme night every night! Far too many alternative dishes to mention, and also children’s buffet which was very popular with our kids the swimming pools were wonderful although we did have to fight for a sun bed, but it was well patrolled by the lifeguard.
Don’t be put off by the appearance of the beach with its black sand and stony walk into the sea (take some beach/swim shoes) once in the water and past the stones, snorkelling was brilliant and kept our children happy for hours with many many different types of fish to see. BEWARE the black sand gets red hot and walking on it is impossible, TAKE SOME BEACH SHOES!
Playa La Arena resort does not have a lot to offer, a few supermarkets, souvenir shops, bars etc, but the hotel offers good entertainment every night. We had a wonderful time there and hope to go back again.
