we went for a family break. in our party we had a 2 year old and three year old. we stayed in a two bedroom bungalow and had a fabulous time. The food isnt fantastic and the restaurant needs an overhaul, but the accomodation was spotless, the boys had a room each and we slept in the lounge area which meant we all had some sleep! The kids club was brilliant. Mimi the entertainer did a fantastic job. we were all inclusive which made meal times easier. the downside is the fact that if you wanted a kettle you had to pay (should come as standard) beach towels required a hefty deposit, but the positives outweighed the negatives. The evening entertainment was great for little ones and adults alike. one of the pools was heated which was great as I am a wimp when it comes to the cold. It rained for 2 mornings while there, and it is slippery on the tiles as the island as a whole is arid, so rain is an unusual occurance. We were just especially cautious, as even in town it is very slippy. The staff as a whole are very accomodating. we had a mosquito problem after the rain, and when I told reception they sent someone immediately to do a treatment on the room. The daily maid service was amazing, so clean. My boys loved the minidisco and the paddling pool. the main beach is a 10 minute walk away, and very easy to stroll to. Town is literally 5minutes down the road, so we didnt even have to use the baby buggy. I would recommend that the hotel replaces their apartment sofas with sofa beds, as we slept on the cushions on the floor, which was fine, but not ideal. the restaurant needs some love and attention. one of the juices machines was not chilling and delivered some black algae in with the juice! The toast machine had about 1 years worth of crumbs and one day they ran out of milk! if the restaurant was sorted, I would say for the type of break we were after it would have been pretty ideal.

Me and my husband booked to stay for 7 days All Inclusive. When we arrived and checked out the bungalow the bedding was wet, the towels were hard and rough to the touch without a hotel emblem. Found the room to be cold but clean. The hotel moved us to another bungalow but our holiday had already been spoilt by this time. Food inedible, drinks undrinkable very poor for an all inclusive being billed as a 4*. Decided to stay one night as it was evening and too late to be transfered elsewhere. On complaining to our tour operator we were then moved on to a real 4 star hotel and had a fab holiday.

decided to go abroad for hristmas for a change, with our 3 children, 17,19,21. Didn't want to spend a fortune, but Playa Blanca sounded v nice a good value for money. On arriving didn't look too bad, nice grounds, apts basic but clean and despite sun being in and out quite nice and warm, especaiily as it was -4 when we left that morning .
First buffet dinner was ok, as is oftern the way with these buffets odd mixtures, but a reasonable choice. However as the week proressed it got worse, and the same foods were recycled again and again. Breafast was the best meal, the poolside snacks were basically a very dubious burger and chips, every day the same. We resorted to eating out in the evenings several times, which rather defeats the all inclusive idea, but had some lovely meals in the town itself.
Also as the week went on the water began to taste very 'soapy', not only in tea and coffee but it also tainted the cola etc so we had to buy stuff from the super market. This wasn't helped by the fact that the weather was the worst that they had every had!!! it rained 4/7 days, and 3 of those days it was torrential. AS there was very little there to do, and a good walk to the town, we read alot of books, and thank goodness the children had taken laptops! The rooms began to feel damp, especially the wardrobes, and the rain water poured in under the back door of the apts, so we needed to put a towel down to stop it. Also when it rained the paths and pool area and steps became VERY slippery and despite some antislip strips (many of which were worn away) I fell a couple of times. The apts were bungalow stle in blocks of 2 - and it was just as well our children were in the adjacent bungalow as we could hear them speaking through the walls, particuarly in the bathrooms!
lastly the pool water was freezing so very few people used it, the tennis court flooded at the slightest hint of rain, there was no table tennis table, or gym, that we saw and the bar areas were very small and stuffy for the number of people there.
Although we didn't go to any entertainment we did hear thet the magician was very good.
On our last day there was a gala buffett for christmas day which in fact they had made alot of effort for and it was very nice - more like we might have expected every day!
Definately not an hotel for older children, and obviously the poor weather didn't help, but this defainetly NOT a 4* star hotel, maybe a 2.5*.

Just returned and can't fault the accommodation, staff, or holiday.
I can't comment on the evening entertainment as our young daughter was in bed by 19:30 each evening. The day-time entertainment was very good there is plenty for children to do (at the mini-club). Adults are well catered for by the friendly entertainment staff - you can do as little or as much as you want.
The food was varied but there were some interesting options at times - but this is taking an English slant on things. The variety of food was just right so that there was always something that everybody would like.
The hotel operates a bus to the beach every 15 minutes, or you can walk there in about 10 minutes.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would certainly go back, when we've been everywhere else first!

Just returned from Hotel Club Playa Blanca.Overall impression of Hotel is good, staff helpful.
Stayed in 2 bed bungalow which was very spacious & cleaned every day except Thursdays & Sundays.
Food is ok but tends to be the same every day.
Entertainment is good for kids but not so good for adults.
Ran out of ice-creams one day & the only vending machine was out of order.
Approx 10 mins walk from town.
overall a good holiday.

I booked then read the reviews both good and bad... gotta say that we had a superb stay the hotel was very clean - nicely laid out and the staff very friendly.
The apartments were superb for what we wanted - we had a 2 bed bungalow just the ticket for our 22 month and 3 year old... Entertainment each night was OK for the kids - we were happy as long as they were! Food was bargain basement but you pay for what you get... I can't see what others reviewers moan about! The hotels location is a ten minute walk out of town of which is real easy access even with a pushchair.
Great value for money and a real relaxed family atmosphere in the hotel .. never really say this but actually.. I would go again and also recommend it to friends and family. Enjoy it we did...

Very reasonable hotel (all residents housed in bungalows)
After searching for a budget all inclusive holiday for 3, including a fussy 11 year old, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Club Playa Blanca, after reading all the reviews on various sites we decided to give it a go.
There really is nothing to worry about if you are planning or have planned to go here.
Good points:
Bungalows, clean, modern and spacious.
Pool and pool bar, excellent and again spacious.
Food, plentiful and varied, you will find something you like every day, the problem with tables not being cleared (as one reviewer stated) seems to have been rectified, loads of staff.
Self service drinks, however the pool bar service appeared to me to be of better quality and there are no queues here for anything, unlike many lesser hotels.
Resort, beautiful, no need to use the free courtesy bus, the walk is very pleasant (10 mins). Make a point of going to the market at Marina Rubicon on Wednesday or Saturday (about 30 mins walk) excellent, not the usual holiday tat!
Not too many Brits, I know this sounds bad but you will notice a far better atmosphere.
All inclusive option is not abused, probably due to the lack of Brits, it is very easy to over indulge if you wish !
Sunbeds, loads of them, not reserved.
Bad points:
Some tiles are dodgy, but as is the Spanish way things are being repaired at their own pace, as one reviwer said they can also be slippery when wet.
Self service coffee in plastic cups from a machine during the day, this should be available at the pool bar in proper cups.
Entertainment, well it is poor but make the most of it and enjoy it, the staff do try hard but they seem to lack a quality entertainment 'Leader'.
We only went for 7 days, it really is not long enough.
Overall:
A fantastic budget all inclusive 4* in beautiful surroundings, the good points far outweigh the bad, make sure you go, you will not be dissapointed.
Thanks for reading.

Everything about the place was good. Food, cleanliness, amenities etc, only gripe was the way the staff although hardworking and helpful could not cope with the number of guests, clearing tables, replacing cutterly and crockery, appeared to be a constant problem. My only other whinge was the evening entertainment was very low budget and sometimes non existant, yet again the entertainment staff (kids Club included)done a fantastic job of what they had to work with.
Overall an enjoyable Holiday, you get what you pay for at the end of the day!!

My husband booked the hotel club playa blanca in Lanzarote after reading good reviews . We booked Hotel, flights and hire car separately as this was the most economical way.
Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a friendly and efficient face who told us they had some two bedroom apartments left if we wanted to upgrade, for 10 Euro s a night extra which we gladly did. The rooms were clean but unfortunately we had a few ants and a constant bad smell coming from the toilet. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and we had a good position being near enough to the pool but not close enough to hear the entertainment great. The biggest criticism is you can hear everything through the walls of the rooms even a sigh from the bathroom next door and as you can imagine a lot worse!
The location of the hotel was in my opinion great, ten minutes walk from the bleach and shops and apparently there is a regular bus service for other beaches and shops around. The resort is lovely not full of chav Brits who let the side down.
The grounds of the hotel were lovely and have good access for wheelchairs and buggies, there are however a few damaged tiles around the place that weren't fixed, and you have to be really careful as when it rains it's unbelievably slippery around various parts of the complex.
The Hotel staff were excellent, the kids entertainers were fab as they spoke in three languages to include everyone, and every day they had something on. The evening entertainment for kids was good too and they encourage the parents to get involved.
The food was good I would say standard quality for an all inclusive, but with excellent variety, there was something for everyone, from either the hot plates or the cold buffet, my two under 6's always found something they liked ( and not just chips!) The chef was really friendly and could mimic an English accent 100%.
The staff eat here too which is always a good sign.
The pools were lovely but too cold as apparently when someone complained to reception there was something wrong with the heating, however all the kids in the complex didn't seem to mind. I would recommend this hotel to families, young couples looking for a relaxing holiday and older persons alike.

Earlier this year I stayed in this hotel, it is the most lovely, clean hotel that I've ever seen. You each have your own good sized bungalow which is a hundred times better than a hotel with 10 floor to climb! It was very picturesque, the food was fine for me unless you are extremely picky!
The only down side to this was the entertainment wasnt brilliant, although bless them for trying so hard. Very nice beaches, shops and restaurants.
I'd go again and recommend it to a friend.

Really enjoyed it ! Came here with partner and two kids, 8, 5. Staff very nice, rooms were big. Paid for one bedroom but got two bedroom.
Plenty to do during the day. Entertainment staff very nice with kids, took them to the beach for a couple of hours. They try really hard to entertain everyone. Entertainment at night ok for first hour for kids.
Food ok; had better but had worse. Salads are nice, plenty of food to choose from.
Pool very nice.
Overall nice hotel, would come back here again.

1 week holiday 2 adults and 2 children under 4.
rooms clean and well presented. little issue with general up keep of maintenance i.e. broken lamp fittings and a few cracked tiles but not a issue to spoil a good clean development.
pools grand but cold as a child under 4 will tell you.
loads of sun loungers availible. hotel towels for the pool could do with a bit of softener...
food. good selection with lots to choose from. special nights of canarian and chinese foods where a great hit.
plenty of selection for kids
location. dead on wee bit of a walk[20mins] to the town centre but hotel put on a bus to the beach if required. good shopping and restaurants along the coast with market in the marina with a further 20mins walk or bus.
staff. all staff members very attentive and helpful with a great kids club during the day and kids disco at night
