Great hotel, friendly staff, great choice of food, but very noisey around the pool with the reps and a tannoy system, NOT a relaxing place. Also will not go there when more than 50% full. At 50% it is good but according to staff and other guests over 50% and you have to queue for everything. Reps had people playing water polo whilst the swimming pool area was crowded causing a lot of problems with the ball being thrown out of the water and knocking over drinks etc.

We returned to hotel costa caleta from 3rd to 14th March 2012. We had a very good holiday. The staff all work extremely hard. The rooms were modern and cleaned 5 times a week. The bedding is changed twice a week.
There are plenty of sun loungers which are chained up at night. If you were not on you lounger by about 9.45 - 10 o clock the life guard removed towels. However, there were plenty of unused loungers still stacked up.
The hotel was full, and sometimes there were queues for the dining room. The staff worked very hard to clear tables as quickly as possible to prevent the queues. The food was good with a large variety of meats, fish, salad and veg. The snacks were hot dogs, chips, burgers, croissants and biscuits.
There was a large queue one evening at the bar, so they opened up another bar. This bar was then opened every night. You are only allowed 2 drinks per person which also helps keep down the queues.
We loved it and will return again.

The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. The hotel is in a good area for shops, bars and beach. The AI option was very good and the food was fine. you could eat and drink as much as you wanted but no tea or coffee or water or anything before 8am. The really bad thing about this is that people get up early for sun beds so you are sitting around for ages in the cold guarding your bed and umbrella. if you didn't get up early you could not sit by the pool as there was no room and people even had to use the cafe areas chairs. there was also not enough umbrellas so when the midday sun came you had to go inside with your kids. the suns beds on the beach were only 9 euros but when there is 8 of you it gets expensive and you have to come back for lunch as the packed lunch is poor and the kids prefer the pool. We would not return to the canaries as it was cloudy most days till late morning. we did have a good time though and met some nice people to chat to which was good as the entertainment was poor.
- Holiday Date:Aug 2011
- Advice: don't get a room with a pool view unless you like noise, especially at 5am when sun beds are being moved around.

Just got back from my all inclusive 10 day stay at this hotel. I went with my wife and two children aged 15&16 boy and girl. We paid for two rooms, but these where eight doors apart, not ideal, They where clean and ok in size, but that's where the good points eneded. There was no sound proofing whatsoever in this hotel we could hear every word the people in the adjoining room were saying. The noise in the morning with new arrivals and people leaving was unbareable as all the floors where tiled as is normal. But no sound profing in the walls. I got a sun bed once, the day I went down at 07:30, then it was touch-and-go. We went from the 14th July 2011 for 10 days. The pool area is just too small for over 700 guests. The food was plentiful, but of the lowest possible quality with regards to produced, but prepare OK. Pork, pork and more pork in everything. The worst cuts you can imagine - trotters, livers, belly, lower leg. Most of the fish was over cooked and horrid - and I love fish.
The main problem here is hygene the place is a zoo the waiters are rude and hurridly clean the tables in front of you picking up dirty plates etc - then without washing their hand's (no facilities) they touch your cutlery when they lay the table for the next sitting. The red table clothes, under the paper ones where never changed once whilst we where there.
One type of gasy beer only was supplied Amstel - couldn't drink it.
The staff in general made you feel unwelcome and some where openly hostile and rude. The entertainment was for very young children and poor. The stage was in a bazzar place where you had to walk pasted and watch from right angles, with columns obscuring your view.
I am not a fussy person at all, I eat most things and have never really complained about much, but on this occassion I felt I had to. Beds were extremely uncomfortable and the one smelt.
The island though was great, particularly further south at Costa Calma & Morro Jobblo, beautiful beaches and safe sea. The north the beaches are nice, but the sea is dangerous most days, with a strong off shore current. I am a strong swimmer, but felt unsafe. Red flag flies nearly constantly at Corrolajo. In summery go to the island, but not this hotel unless you get it for peanuts and in the low season.

- Advice: Beach not the best, but better half a mile south, near two new hotels.

My daughter and I stayed here for a week, rooms were great very clean, getting a sunbed was a nightmare had to get up at seven to get in with a chance, the pool bar needed more staff on and so did the one in evening was like queuing for school dinners everyone in big line, the entertainment was rubbish and could have done with some nicer chairs in this area, its a weird layout as the stage is in a very odd position. Food was not great to much same stuff everynight. But we did meet a lot of nice Engish people here and had loads of laughs everyday so would still recommend it.

My husband and I have just returned from one week at Costa Caleta Hotel. We read all reviews good and bad, decided to hope for the best. It was a much needed break and finance restricted choice. We normally stay in 3 star hotels so we were not 4 star guests who expected that standard in a 3 star hotel.
CHECK IN
We arrived and were checked in by a very friendly male receptionist and directed to our room.
ROOM
THE ROOM WAS FABULOUS! The best we have ever stayed in, bright, colourful, clean and extremely large. Two single beds with bedside tables and, a sofa at the side of each. This room obvious was for four people. The room also had a pool view.
FOOD
The breakfasts were great, lovely bacon, sausage, scrambled and fried eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, fried bread etc.
Lunches tended to be fine with salads, pasta, some hot food etc.
Dinners were disappointing, felt the lunches were better. We are not picky eaters and are not from the 'burger and chip brigade' but there were nights when we ate salad and chips mainly because the meat dishes were stew type or rabbit.
Desserts were better than in most other hotels though with fruit, cakes, mousse type, various ice creams etc.
STAFF
Despite reading many reviews about the surly, rude and bad tempered staff, we did not encounter anyone during the whole holiday who was anything but courteous and friendly. The blonde, Irish lady in particular is very helpful! Perhaps in high season stress might take over, who knows.
CLEANLINESS
The whole hotel was spotless! Corridors were bright, airy and clean and the rooms were great. We did ask to keep our room on as we had a late flight and were given another room which faced onto some grotty pink apartments and which was over the kitchen/dining area. We both agreed we would have been gutted if we had been given that whole room for a week.
ENTERTAINMENT
What entertainment? There was the usual mini disco for the kids which was fun to watch but the adult entertainment could not be called entertainment. We felt that the Costa Caleta thought they had a captive audience as the hotel is all inclusive. The lounge area was cramped and there was no air conditioning. It just seemed like numerous people getting drunk and shouting. We went out for 6 of the 7 nights (one night was bad enough)and went to the Irish Bar and the Beer Garden where the entertaiment is good. It's a decent walk from the hotel but worth it.
SUMMARY
We paid less for a week in this all inclusive hotel than we would have done in another 3 star hotel on half board. It was therefore, worth the money for breakfast, lunch and evening meal even if we did go out each night and didn't take advantage of the all inclusive drinks option. Other people we spoke to, tended to do the same thing. So, all in all good value and 'you get what you pay for'.

Good Points: Very clean hotel with food you can get by on. Bar staff and manager very friendly. In a very good location within walking distance to harbour and beach.
Bad Points : Swimming pools were all freezing cold and was jacuzzi on rooftop terrace. There was only one lift working and we were told it had not been working for some time!!! Entertainment extremely poor, however if u like parrot, snake and bird shows, this could be the ideal hotel for you. We tried piero's music cafe which is in the shopping centre and found the entertainment to be excellent!!! People did try the barcelo hotel and said that was good.

Hotel Costa Caleta has good points and bad and unfortunately due to the bad I will not be returning.
To have to get up every morning at 7am to fight for sunbeds that aren't even unlocked until 9am was unbelievable!!!!
The hotel was clean, air conditioning was good and the food choice was okay. However we queued for everything, at the bar, at reception, at the lift and in the dining room. I know that queues should be expected but this could have been avoided by employing more staff at the peak time of August!! As staff were so busy, they were not very friendly and infact could be quite rude.
I took my two children aged 2 and 4 and the childrens evening entertainment was very poor. As it didn't start till around 9.30pm-10pm there was nothing for my children to do until then and then once it started it was the same dances every night and nothing else!!

I travelled here on 23rd April 2010 with my boyfriend. We arrived at the hotel to a quick check in. We were given our all inclusive bands and hotel key. The room was spotless! The rooms were cleaned everyday except a sunday & thursday as the cleaners were off.
The pool area is Fab! we got the same spot everyday and the sun hit us from 10am until at least 4.30pm. There was no fighting or arguing for the sunbeds most days there was plenty of sunbeds free. If you dont manage to get one downstairs visit the roof terrace. the views from up there where amazing. the pools were cold but lovely once you got in.
The food was nice, although it was mainly fish & pork most days, I dont eat these myself but there was a wide range of other foods including salads and pastas.
The entertainment of a night was excellent most nights. We went out one night to find entertainment somewhere elese we walked the whole resort and found our hotel was the loudest & busiest!
Quick Tip Thou When the clock hits 10.30pm get to the bar && get all your drinks in as all inclusive stops at 11pm.
Fabulous holiday thou we will be returning.
dont forget to visit the chipmunks they eat out of your hand!

We have just returned from 7 nights easter break. All inclusive. There were 6 in our party - Myself, my husband 3 children 13, 9 & 4 and my father. We had 2 rooms - ajoining doors. Only 5 beds made up. We didnt realise it was just a bedroom and no living space which provided a bit of a problem regarding my fathers sleeping arrangement, I went down to reception and explained the situation but these were the biggest rooms available, They did have single available and i paid an extra 180 euros for my dad to have his own room. So please be aware if you are traveling with other relatives. The rooms are lovely and clean as is the hotel itself. Like previous reviews there is not enough sunbeds for everyone and if there was there would be no space to put them. My husband after 2 days became like the other 'sad' people and set his alarm to get up early and stand gaurd over the stacks of sunbeds - which are padlocked until 9a.m. There is space available on the roof but it is very windy up there - lovely views from the roof though and the roof top bar was not open. We were told there were more sunbeds on order and they were coming from Spain. The evening entertainment was also a struggle to be able to view it as the stage is set in a strange position with the seats off to the side. We had to sit for 4 nights outside in the smoking area as there are not enough seats inside for everyone and again these are booked in advance by people working their meals in relays. The food was fine, the breakfasts were the best and salads lovely. Sweets were nothing to write home about and were roughly the same every evening. No snacks after 9 p.m. so was a long time from your evening meal til breakfast depending on when you ate meals served between 1800hrs-2100hrs. Not a lot happening outwith the hotel. It is a very quiet area - which is good if you have young children. Lots of chipmunks running around on the rocks which the kids loved. Very windy at sea front. Beach lovely and lots of room. More bar staff required and if you are inclusive you can only order 2 drinks per visit to the bar - not good when in a party of 6! Pool side snacks good and plenty of icecream and cakes for the children. Would go back to Fuertaventura but not to this hotel.

Had a wonderful Holiday at the Costa Caleta.
We went there on chance as we had not been there before.
The hotel was very clean, and the food was also very good for a 3*.
I was a bit worried about wether it was going to be shady at sometimes
due to shape of the Hotel surrounding the pool, but I need not have
worried, the sun shone right down the centre of the pool.
The staff were superb very friendly and efficient.
Would deffinately go again.
Tom and June.
