My husband and I have just returned from our third holiday here in 18 months. Yes it is basic but my goodness at the price asked what do some people expect? The climate is woonderful the food plentiful and quite enjouable (despite what others may say). If you want a better standard then be prepared to pay for it. I would rather have three weeeks here than one in a 5 star hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and we will be going back in December.

Was a bit worried about going to this place after reading some of the reviews but we have just had 2 lovely weeks at the Piramide, yes its basic but if you want caviar and steak then book a 5 star place, the food was a bit monotonous but there was always some thing there that you could enjoy, the apartments were basic but ours was clean and we had no trouble with anything at all, the staff we found to be very nice, especially the 3 brothers, we arrived after the all inclusive drinks had finished at 10 but he wouldnt take any money from us as it was our first night, they put upwith a lot iof abuse from some very rude English who wanted 5 star treatment (then go and pay for it!) The area is lovely and the walk into to Calleta is nice especially feeding the chipmunks they are so cute and will take peanuts or fruit from your hands, and they dont bite you! I would certainly go back next year as we had a fab time and if your interested in a quiet relaxing holiday then it is ideal there, the only thing that spoiled it for us was listening to the moaning English, the scousers being the main moaners!!

Well what can i say, when i booked the holiday i expected fairly standard food and accomodation but what i wasn't expecting was what we got when we got there.
We arrived at Gatwick airport and had major issues because Bookable holidays had not put extra baggage allowance that we had paid for on our tickets.
We arrived and booked in at reception at about 22:05 and were told that the drinks were only free up untill 22:00, so we had to buy our own drinks (we were not informed of any restrictions when booking the holiday) we were however supplied a packed lunch which consisted of a hard dry roll with what appeared to be ham, a bottle of water and some fruit.
The room (106) stank when we entered but we got on with it, the first morning after a shower the bathroom floor was soaking of which we thought was just the shower leaking but after a couple of days we arrived in the room to find the toilet had backed up with sewerage into the bath and had leaked through the bathroom into the hall and just into the bedroom, the staff member was very rude and inconciderate at this point (he did say that this issue had arisen before but had not been fixed), he did however offer us another room (205) which i could open even with the door locked and an upstairs room which we didn't want.
The room next door (107) was vacant but we weren't allowed this until the next day as it needed to be cleaned, which we accepted and moved in the following day, this room had suffered with water leak issues before as there were water marks on the walls
and explicit writing stained into the curtains.
The food was well below what i would call an adequate standard, we accepted when we booked that the food wasnt going to be the best, but other than breakfast the food was bairly edible if at all.
If you had the misfortune to miss the meal times you had to wait for the next sitting as there were no snacks available other than crisps at the bar which you had to pay for.
There were no activities during the day, the pool table was broken, the gym looked dangerous and you couldn't even play table tennis as there was no balls and the evening entertainment only consisted of two nights of kareoke while we were there.
The pool was a realy nice size with more than enough sun loungers and a pool bar.
Locally there are a couple of bars and restaurants within a short walk which we came across by accident as the staff wouldnt tell us of local entertainment.
The apparent "short" walk to caleta de fuste took about 30-40mins but there was some fantastic views into the atlantic ocean and loads of chipmonks.
There was a free courtesy bus in the morning and return trip in the early evening to the beach and taxi fare only came to between 3-4 euro's.
As an overall holiday experience the country was nice, quite quiet but in a good way but unfortunately due to the poor exchange rate (1.15 euros to the £1) we found the holiday to be rather expensive considering we had to eat out every night! Outside attractions such as the water park are expensive (72 euros for 2 people including coach) which was the cheapest attaction by far and be prepaired you have to pay for everything once you enter not even the blow up rings for the rides are free!
I would recommend fuerteventura and i may even be tempted to return as it is a pretty country, but i would not return to La Piramide or recommend it better to stay in Caleta de fuste which has far better ammenities.

What can I say? Disgusting dirty rooms with raw waste coming up into bath, smelly bed-linen and towels, rice, pasta & chips only fit for pig-swill.
Very rude, aggresive staff, useless telephone help-line from holiday company, and as for the bed-bugs and ants, they were everywhere.
I knew it was only 2* when i booked, but I at least expected edible food and habitable rooms, I got neither.
Had to take my 3 kids out to eat every night or they would have become anorexic, and believe me my kids usualy eat everything, but I wouldnt have fed a dog what the Piramide offered us.
The only good point I can make are the pool, which the kids loved, and the other holiday makers I got friendly with, who, I believe were as horrified as myself with the state of the place.
One other nice bit, but nothing to do with the hotel was the sea front walkway where hundreds of chip-munks lived, the kids had a ball feeding them.
WOULD I GO BACK ?????
Definately yes, but to witness its demolition.
Be aware, this really was the holiday from Hell........

I was absolutly shocked that this hotel is even in business, i have never stayed anywhere so dirty. The first night that we arrived, we had water dripping thro the celling in the bedroom, we told reception but nothing was done about it & we were left in the room, we later discovered that the water was actually toilet water dripping thro. The bathroom smelt like a man's urinal & we had waste comming up thro the bath & b-day. Still nothing was done about it, we were ignored by the staff. We also discovered that we had bed bugs not only in are beds but all over the sofa too, we were told that they were ants & yet again ignored.
The food was a total joke at the hotel, we were served pasta, rice, chips & bread rolls 3 times a day for 7 days. The food was so discusting that i wouldnt even feed it to a pig. we had to eat out 5 nights of that holiday becasue we could not bear to eat there food. The staff at the hotel need to learn some manor's too & were damn right rude for the whole week we stayed there. A member of staff was made to apolgise to me & given a discaplinery but as soon as the mangers back was turned he used threating behaviour towards me & was made to feel uncomfortable for the rest of the day.
I have never experienced such a bad holiday, it really was a holiday from hell. I would much rather sleep in a pig sty then step foot back into that hotel.

The hotel was lovely, the staff and general areas were always clean and safe. We went to Fuertoventura for a quiet, relaxing and chilled out break. For November the weather was lovely not to hot or cold. The hotel is a lovely walk away from the local town and there are many things to do if your not bothered about a short walk. The views are lovely on the coastal road. If you want a beach holiday and don't want to walk and explore then this isn't really for you. It is a couples and families resort. There are many lovely beaches on the Island and a few about 2 miles away so a short walk. The area is lovely, peaceful and relaxed.
The pool is lovely and although it is not heated (why would you want it to be in such a hot country) it always maintained and clean.
The food i agree was alittle repetative however in one week we went out for a meal. The cost of a meal out was about £20 pound this included drinks etc.
I loved this holiday and we are planning to return after our wedding at about the same time of the year. A really cheap and cheerful holiday. I am still not sure how they manage to do keep the prices so low. A lovely resort and well worth the trip!!

me, my partner and my 2 year old have just come back from 2 weeks at la piramide, we really enjoyed our stay and would go back. the food wasn't amazing and a bit repetative but it was still good. the walk into town is lovely, especially because of the cooling wind. the apartments have everything you need, its always clean, and the staff were great. for the price you pay what can you expect, this is a two star, and it should be 3.

Just returned from 2 weeks at La Piramide. Although I didnt particularly like Fuerteventura we had a great holiday. You get what you pay for, the holiday was very cheap so expectations were low.
The apartments were clean but in need of modernisation, the staff were lovely, really friendly. It was quiet and relaxing with a mixture of British, Spanish and German visitors.
The food was nice lots of salad, rice, pasta, chips, fish, chicken etc and yummy ice cream for pudding!
Costa Antigua is not very developed and the 1.5/2km to the resort of Caleta Du Fuste is a little optimistic. The path is along the coast and a very nice walk but takes at least 25-30mins and is poorly lit in the evening. However the taxi service on the island is fantastic and it is ony 3-4 euros to the beach/resort.
The water park at Baku is brilliant...definately worth the money with loads of slides and lots for kids and adults plus a zoo and aquarium with everything from Sea Lion shows to giant tortoises and flamingos!
The island is not pretty like Spain. The main beach in Caleta isnt very nice but there are 3 small coves further along which have gorgeous white sand.......it is windy though so be prepared to fight the sand!
It was hot in July but with a breeze that kept you cool whilst enjoying the sun and definately tanning weather. Some mornings were cloudy but it was normally clear by 11am.
Would recommend for those on a budget either couples or families but if you like something more lively this probably isnt the place to go also if you like pretty places with cute side streets and green areas!

My friend and I had a great 2 weeks at La Piramide. The only people who wouldnt like it are uptight Brits who expect to much from a cheap but respectable hotel.
Location: If you like being 'away from it all' this is perfect - 15 minute walk to town (Caleta) or 1 euro on the bus that runs every 30 mins
Bar: No complaints at all. Great drink selection, good music. Being polite gets you a long way (as it should)
Food: We thought it was well above averege on all but 2 days in a 2 week vacation
Accomodation: A little basic but mostly clean and good for the price we paid
Other factors to concider are a great pool, friendly-hardworking staff and decent food, drink and atmosphere
the only negative points were a poor gym, pool tables were not free, spanish tv (duh) and to much karaoke!
I reccomend the resort to travlers on a budget (although the rest of the island is a bit pricey)

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a last minute christmas break. Initially we were dissapointed, but then we realised that we had winter sun and only used the apartment as somewhere to shower and sleep, it was perfect for our needs. However the pool is not heated, but in the hotter months this isn't a problem. Who goes on a holiday to stay in their apartment 24/7? We are considering going back this year.
The food is pretty poor but as it was so cheap for all inclusive we only had breakfast there and ate out for other meals. There are some lovely restaurants in the near by town, which is a nice stroll down the costal road, that is lit all the way at night! You feel completely safe.
There is a cheap and regular bus service and two stops near La Piramide so you can travel the island without the cost of hiring a car and can have a few drinks with your meal without arguing over who is driving back. Also cost of taxis is not expensive either.
I think I have even talked myself into another stay at La Piramide.

La Piramide Apartments is in a very quiet area of the Island.
The hotel was a bit dated, and the food was not very good. Dinner was practically the same as lunch! It was edible but not great, so me and my boyfriend ate out a few times. There are a variety of restaurants in Caleta de Fuste, which is only 4 euros in a taxi.
The staff were very helpful and quite nice, and the pool area was probably the best feature. The actual apartments were very basic, and although we booked a double there were two single beds. There was no air conditioning or fan, so at night it was too hot to get a good nights sleep.
The actual island is lovely although very quiet, and a day trip to Callamera beach in the north is worthwhile.
