Had a great time, the pool is small but deep.
The pasta in the restaurant was cold and rubbery which is bad for a pasta lover like me.
The meatballs are nice, I recommend them and the salmon.
Pedro was a lovely waiter, very polite, but the other waiter who whistles scared me.
I recommend you go to the Western Waterpark and go on the mega slide, and go to the pirate show.
Have fun on your holiday. Thank you to Julia, the receptionist.

Room’s basic but clean maid service good. Pool far too small, thirty sunbeds, three hundred people not good enough. Pool bar very poor, closed at 5pm.
Main bar often running out of main drinks. Hotel staff very nice. Fantastic location over looking great beach.
Went to both water parks very good; marine land not worth money. Food in hotel ok, breakfast good, dinner poor, good for children. Dining area small and rushed.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. Palma Nova is beautiful.

The hotel is located in a prime position. The food was bland and horrible; we ate out 6 days of the 7 seven we stayed there. (tip) The hideaway in the alleyway around the corner does a nice breakfast.
We stayed in room number 316 and had a wonderful view of the bins and the added pleasure of a non stop noisy drone. The resort is brilliant with the a clean beach 50 yards across the road, A large mini golf up the road and small one right next door to the hotel.
There are plenty of shops and small arcades for the kids close by. The entertainment in the hotel is the usual run of the mill rubbish and kids ents only last 40 mins.
The pool and pool area is the worst I have ever seen starting at 1.35m and quickly gets to 2.1m, no good for young children.
Rooms are basic but clean, cleaner came in 6 days of the week, staff are friendly. The bar staff go as quick as they can but expected a long wait as they are under staffed.
We will not go back to this hotel again.

I found the hotel to be very basic and the pool area too small. In the week we stayed there we didn’t visit the pool once as it was too busy.
The beach was just across the road though so it wasn’t too bad. The beach is kept absolutely spotless and it’s easy enough to get a sun bed. I found the English staff at the hotel very rude and not child friendly at all.
Pedro the head waiter was absolutely lovely and my 3 year old now thinks he’s her boyfriend! The food was ok with a good variety.
Palma is a great place for all ages as its quiet enough if you have small children and great if any older teenagers want to go clubbing in magaluf. All in all it was a good holiday.

This was our first time at the hotel Tropico playa in Palma nova, situated on the beach and lots of shops and restaurants to visit.
As for the staff we cannot praise all the staff enough, all of them were always happy to help and nothing was too much trouble for them especially Pedro the manager (what a lovely man).
Pool was smaller than expected and is not suitable for small children as the shallow end was up to my daughters neck and she is aged 9.
Me and my son are very fussy eaters and didn't really expect to be eating often in the hotel but we ate there everyday. There was always a great choice of food and plenty of it, some of the evening meals on offer included lasagne, lamb chops, honey glazed ribs, pasta mix, sausage, fish dishes, salad and a selection of deserts and ice cream, this is just a short list of what was on offer.
Rooms were cleaned every day. Kids day entertainment was very poor but kids evening entertainment was ok but the same 3 games were played every night (musical chairs, go fetch and a sweet race) which did become a bit boring towards the end of the week, there is no entertainment in this hotel for teenagers, adult entertainment was good.
There are 2 waterparks in Magaluf Aqualand and western park both are great fun for adults, teenagers and kids, and both are only 10 mins by bus and only 5 euro's by taxi, we would definitely go back again but would not advise to families with teenagers.
As for first choice our tour operator they were also fantastic, very helpful and again we would go with first choice, excursions are available from your rep but are cheaper if purchased from the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel twice, this year and last. The following are our observations:
Rooms: This hotel is split into three sections. Depending on what room you are allocated will determine what view you get. Some rooms have wonderful views and others get literally no view at all.
One section of hotel not accessible by lift. Rooms are cleaned daily, however forget having a lay in as the maids are a bit noisy moving beds etc on the tiled floors in the rooms adjoining your own (you can put a note on the door not to be disturbed).
The air conditioning in the room we had this time was next to useless. There is no kettle (so take your own) or fridge (so buy UHT milk).
Beds are not very comfortable, especially the ones made of wooden slats. They only give you one pillow and you must ask at reception if you want more.
Food: ok, so can always find something you like. However I found the food very often looked better than it tasted.
Friendliness of staff: Bar and restaurant staff brilliant. Reception staff - not so accommodating. Forced smiles etc. Not the service you would normally expect from a 3 star hotel.
Entertainment: some good, others rubbish - obviously depends, like most things, on what you prefer.
Pool: A bit small. Not many loungers.
Location: Ideal. Right across the road from the beach. Couldn't ask for more.
Overall: Like I said, it all depends on what you want and what you expect from a holiday. We have stayed at this hotel twice (gave them the benefit of the doubt first time).
However, we will won't go back again. The main reason being the uncertainty of what room you will get upon arrival. The standards between rooms in this particular hotel are vast and the excuses they come up with on why you can't have a sea view I am afraid are feeble.
Remember you will probably be staying in this room for two weeks and it gets incredibly boring if all you have to look at is the back of the building and a solitary palm tree!

Spent one week at this hotel. Room was kept clean and tidy.
Food was not too bad. The staff were very friendly, what can I say about Pedro, what a nice man, very helpful.
The hotel is right on the beach, just as well as the pool is a bit on the small side, but we had a great holiday here.
Lots of shops and bars to visit, you can get all sorts of food to eat out here if you don't want to eat in the hotel.

This hotel is in an excellent location, just across the road from the beach. It is in the heart of Palma Nova and about 15 minutes walk from Magaluf.
The hotel itself is in two blocks with the front being the most popular. The staff at the hotel are friendly, including the girl who calls the bingo and does the entertainment.
The food is fine but not a great choice. The rooms are air conditioned and have various either over the prom or the mini golf.
I would recommend this hotel for a holiday and I would certainly go back.

My friend and I went to the Tropico Playa hotel in Palma Nova for a week’s break.
We stayed half board and I must say I thought the food to be excellent the breakfast consisted of English, continental and European while the evening meals varied everyday with a wide selection of delicious foods and the desserts were mouth watering.
The evening entertainment was both for adults and children and like I said we went for a break from our families but found ourselves joining in with the kid’s fun.
What can I say about the staff, well they were some of the friendliest I have met especially the bar staff. All in all a truly fantastic holiday and I can’t wait to return A.S.A.P. with my grandchildren.
Although the rooms are basic we found them to be very clean with someone coming in everyday to tidy up after us and make our beds with clean sheets.

Our party was 2 adults and 1 teenager (13).
After reading some reviews I was a little worried about this hotel. It was absolutely fine. Rooms were clean and tidy with spacious bathrooms. All areas within the hotel were also cleaned regularly. We had a lovely sea view.
Apparently since last season there have been some changes made. There is now a Scottish manager and many of the staff were also British. They were knowledgeable and bi-lingual.
There was a variety of food on offer and all of it was well cooked and presented. My only complaint here was that there was nothing Spanish on offer! I was in Spain after all.
We never used any of the entertainment as we went out every evening.
Unfortunately the pool area is very small with only a small sun terrace so we spent most of our time at the beach which is directly across the road from the hotel. This was lovely and kept clean throughout the day.
The hotel is very family friendly and you are asked to keep the noise down after midnight.
I can recommend the Aqua Park and the Pirates is a must do. Everyone should go rooting about the cobbled streets of Palma and visit the cathedral.
The hotel itself is good for those looking for a little bit of home abroad as is the resort. If you’re looking for something with a touch of culture or tradition I'd say don't go to either. We enjoyed our holiday as we went expecting this type of thing. It was chosen so our daughter could try out Magaluf! (She hated it!!)

Recently returned from holiday at Tropico Plaza Hotel - Hotel was very clean indeed.
The food was okay with breakfast better than dinner. The evening meals were often just lukewarm, particularly the meat dishes. The fish dishes were spoilt by being smothered in various sauces as was most of the meat.
The hotel staff were brilliant especially Pedro the restaurant/bar manager. He along with the other staff were polite and extremely helpful - nothing was too much trouble!
We didn’t really enjoy the evening entertainment - the room was really smoky and there were never any seats as most of them were occupied by children. The standard of entertainment was okay but not great (but good for families).
The room we had had a superb view of the bay just across from us and the location of the hotel is very good. Not really lively enough for younger people but okay for us in our sixties
I would go back to Tropico Playa but only for one week as we were booked for two weeks this time, but we were both ill during the second week with chest infections.
It was suggested that the air conditioning was to blame as other guests had the same complaint. However, it was indeed a lovely hotel in a lovely location.

Our stay at the hotel was fabulous; we found the entire hotel very clean and modern. We stayed in room 316, and although we did not have a sea view, we could still see a beautiful scene of the mountains and parts of the sea. The room was basic but had everything you needed, and was also cleaned daily whilst we were out.
The staff in the hotel were all very nice and helpful. We especially liked Rich the barman, and Pedro. The food was good and always cooked to perfection. Hats off to the chef.
Although the pool was small, it was still a fun place to spend the afternoon, and a great place to make friends. It was hard however to get a sun bed if you went during the day, you would have to get up early and put your towels on them before breakfast to get a good one.
We stayed at the hotel for two weeks and are definitely going back as soon as possible!
