Venus Albir Hotel

A real little diamond to stay in, spotlessly clean, good size lounge with pine dining table, sideboard, tv unit and large bed settee, lovely bedroom with comfortable beds, good size holiday kitchen with proper oven 2ring hob and extractor plus fridge. Nice bathroom again good size. Balcony overlooks large car park but good views to either side and in the distance. Small pool but very pretty and also jacuzzi to hire for private use. Restaurant small but again lovely and meals seemed a reasonable price. The staff were unbelievably helpful and friendly, lift and ramps so disabled would manage ok.
Albir is small but there is a nice promenade and also cafes and tourist shops but not much entertainment, we found a small french cafe round the corner from our hotel they were friendly and made lovely cups of tea also chorros, and cakes and bread to take away. A taxi to Alicante airport is about £50 so try and arrange a transfer, also Alicante airport does not seem to have a buggy service for people with disabilities so be prepared to be wheel chaired through the airport if need be.
Altea just along from Albir is ok but the old church is well worth a visit as the views and old streets are wonderful, also the promenade is very pleasant.
Benidorm was large loud and very big cityish but ok if that is what you like. The local bus service was very good but the buses can get very crowded.
The Venus Hotel was one of the best small apartment hotels in Spain that we have stayed in and did not have the usual holiday camp atmosphere that so many places seem to feel tourists want.
