Playa Azul Hotel

this is a good hotel in agood location ,we have just had a week allinclusive at this recently refurbished hotel and found it great value for money,a decent variaty of food but some times you had to wait for it to arrive.polystyrene cups for allinclusive customers coffee & tea at the bar is a no no,but i think they will get it right soon. but overall a excellent holiday

Just spent an excellent week at the Playa Azul. Good variation of food (couldn't find the microwave mentioned in earlier reviews - but did not need one!!). Staff were very pleasant and helpful, rooms were very comfortable and spottlesly clean. My only complaint would be that coffee from the pool bar was served in polystyrene cups but considering that it was by the pool health and safety issues need to be addressed.

We stayed 1 week in playa azul and took the hotel as a last minute offer for around 350Eur/pp including flight. For the price we paid, the hotel offered much more! The room we were given was on the last floor with see view, and it was to best thing to have! The food during the evenings is tasty and good, with table wines, beers/ sodas available for free. just got back from a week at this fab hotel, from the moment we walked through the hotel reception till the day we left it was brilliant, the staff especially the resturant and bar staff were very freindly and attentive nothing was to much trouble, the food was first rate, the only blip was no entertainment except saturday night, could have done with some quiz or bingo etc other than the bar to keep you in the hotel, although there was other bars to visit with shows on, but i may be guessing that because it was newly refurbished... more

Just got back from Playa azul which has been taken over by Seth Hotels and completely refurbished. Hotel high standard from pool, restaurant to rooms. Good selection of food for brecki, lunch and evening meal. Very quiet while we were there as it had just reopened but had a good time on the all inclusive. Staff very friendly and everything kept really clean. Undoubtably the worst hotel we have stayed in over the last 30 years. The food that was supposed to be hot was cold and there was a queue for the microwave at each sitting. I have never had to heat my own food. We were there whilst re-furbishment was going on and dining room floor was vibrating. Management ignored complaints, reception was rude. We complained to the Consel insular who have now told me they have taken action. Travel Co. Fleetway refused any form of compensation.

just got back from a weeks stay, well what can i say brillant,take no notice of any reviews for 2009 as hotel has just had major face lift we were 1st guests at hotel simply brill, every think from rooms pool staff food, ill be going back next year .

I can't complain about this hotel, we paid about £330pp HB for a week with Thomas Cook and it was fine. It was so cheap that we decided to have a night in another hotel in Ciutadella while we were there! The food is ok, nothing special but again I can't complain about the pice we paid. If you're looking for luxury get real, this is a clean and cheap hotel ideal for people on a budget. Its clean and basic but it is comfortable. hotel playa azul is at this moment being completely renovated to high standard, make the hotel and calan porter your next destination, great for families and also those who want nitelife its all here, great pubs and resturants NO NEED TO DRIVE !!

I went with my boyfriend, we are both 20. We were looking for a cheap and cheerful holiday and that's what we got. The location was beautiful & the beach was nice - busy at the heat of the day but still nice. The bus service to Mahon was regular and we enjoyed a couple of trips in to the centre. As for the hotel, it was clean, but probably will need work on it in the future.
