Florida Hotel

For a bunch of students on a budget, this hotel far exceeded our expectations. The location was excellent, and the hotel was very easy to find. The rooms were sufficient and air conditioning was included. Breakfast was adequate. We would definitely stay here again!

This was a very decent hotel at a great price. Venice was such a romantic city and we were hardly in our rooms. We came home everynight to a clean room with a new bathroom which was nice. Very conveniently located next to train station and all the main water bus lines. Some rooms don't have bathrooms so make sure you book one that does. Would definitely stay here again.

I arrived at the hotel before check in, but the man behind the desk was more than helpful, letting me leave my luggage in their dining area while I went out for a bit. I went back about an hour later, and within minutes, was able to go to my room. I was exhausted, beginning the third week of vacation, so took a quick nap before heading out to explore. The bed was very comfortable! The hotel is near the train station and near a water taxi stand. Because of it's location, even if I was lost (which happened a lot with all the little streets!), I could stop just about anyone and ask for the way to the train station and find my hotel easily. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. The only drawback is no elevator, which was not problem for me, being on the 1st floor above ground level, but may be a problem for someone with a lot of luggage or with mobility problems.

Great hotel, great price, great location. I think you'd be hard pressed to fined a better hotel in Venice for the price. Only one problem the shower was a little tempramental, small in size with a rather uncomfortable wooden rack to stand on, but it in no way did it detract from the pleasure of staying at the hotel.

Stayed there in August, 2004. Location is excellent--a few minutes walk from the water bus, train station, and bus station. Ceiling fan was a huge plus to cool off in summer heat at night. Room was generally clean and comfortable. Bathrooms and showers were clean and acceptable. Breakfast was included with the room. However, breakfast did not consist of much (by American standards)--only a few crackers and a coffee. I would stay there again, though would splurge and rent a room with air conditioning to prevent the countless mosquitos which feasted on me from the open window. To be fair, I don't think that's limited to this hotel but rather, in any city built completely on water mosquitos should be expected in the humid days of late summer.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Florida. The price and location were perfect.

Clean. Comfortable. Convenient. Compact. Excellant location for getting around Venice by waterbus - and if you want to go further afield onto the mainland - train, bus and car park are only minutes walk away. If you want a "room with a view" forget it, the Florida is tucked discretely down a narrow alleyway (or "calle" ) and could easily be missed by the weary traveller. However it is opposite the Ponte degli Scalza, one of the only three bridges scanning the Grande Canal, and is a reasonably priced place to stay for anyone wanting to explore Venice.

This 2 star has great location next to the train station, is very clean and we got excellent price. We enjoyed our stay there. There is a bit of noise in the morning if you stay on the street side. Not much help from day time receptionist (older lady) but we belive in doing our own homework :)

The hotel staff were very polite and friendly. We checked in as soon as we arrived at 1.30 pm. The room was large, clean and well decorated with a large double bed and two single camp beds easily fitted alongside a wardrobe, bedside tables, and a dressing table. The bathroom was a bit small with a shower, sink and toilet. The room also had air conditioning. Breakfast was satisfactory, only offering breadrolls and croissants with an array of jams or honey. Also with orange juice, tea, coffe and hot chocolate on offer. The hotel was in an ideal safe location, all the surrounding shops were open till ten, and sold perfect gifts at a cheap price. Restuarants sold good food at reasonable prices and were very close by. The hotel was also 30 seconds from the train station and 5 minutes from the bus station that brings you in from the airport. Overall it was the perfect place to stay, and would recommend it to anyone staying in Venice.

Great location if you are using the train. Really appreciated the air-conditioning. No lift though!
