Falier Hotel

My teenage son and I stayed at the Hotel Falier for two nights during the first week in April. The directions to the hotel which we obtained from the hotel's web site were not accurate. So, a ten minute walk, became a one hour walk with many stair steps and heavy luggage -- I had to purchase a map to locate the hotel. The room was extremely small for two people. Just returned from 3 days in Venice. We booked Hotel Falier online through Expedia. We arrived late but there was no problem. The room was rather small but they moved us to a bigger one the next day- we just left our bags and they moved everything while we were out. It is very clean, in a superb location near to everything and the staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our last morning we had to leave before the usual breakfast time of 8 - 11 so they provided us with breakfast at 7.30.

This hotel was great very quite except for the people in the next room having loud sex. We has to find a hotel at the last minute because of a national train strike in Italy...but this hotel was much better then the first one we stayed at. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a patio on top of the hotel to smoke or drink and it has a good city view. It is also in walking distance from Campo S. Margherita (lots of bars and lots of young local). There were 4 of us the hotel is within a 5 minns walk of the Grand Canal and the same distance from the bus station very clean quiet the rooms are on the small side as is the shower but not worth worrying about. They arranged a trip to glass factory free of charge worth doing if only for the speed boat ride to an outlying island spent the day on the island 10 minns in factory. The restaurant next to he hotel is great and well price we will defiantly go back to this hotel

This hotel was centrally located, but we were disappointed that although it states it has air conditioning, it actually just has a ceiling fan. We were there in early July and it was 30 degrees outside, but even hotter in the room. We tried leaving the windows open which did cool it down somewhat (there is a walkway down the side of the hotel which does not get the sun at all). We booked the Hotel Falier 1 week in advance and got a great price at 95euro for a double room with shower. The hotel is just perfectly placed, about 5 minutes from the train station in an area that's surrounded by sights yet is peaceful enough to sleep with the windows open and hear nothing but the birds. The breakfast was just average but wasn't a disappointment. The staff looked after out luggage after we had checked out so we could walk around until we left that evening and had an overall friendly 'family' attitude to working there.

April 2005,We have just come back from having a lovely holiday in Venice. With two children in tow we were unexpectedly surprised at how easy Venice was to negociate, but we did take two scooters as well (no motors) just boy power! We stayed in a well appointed and thoroughly clean hotel that offered everything we needed at a great price with a waterbus, on the grand canal, a couple of minutes walk away. I highly recommend The Hotel Falier and the restaurant next door all happy to welcome famlies.

Just back from a two night stay in Hotel Falier...the hotel is very well situated in relation to the airport bus from Marco Polo Airport. A short walk through charming streets and you're there.The hotel is in excellent condition and the rooms , although on the smallish size, are very well furnished and very comfortable. The best part is how quiet the location is. Our room was at the back and to be woken each morning by birdsong and churchbells instead of streetnoise was marvellous. Charming, lovely Inn within walking distance of the train station (if you pack light). Great base for touring the beautiful city. Very quiet, great breakfast, helpful friendly English speaking staff and great rates. We have stayed here twice and both times got the "top" room with the little patio that overlooks the rooftops. What a view. We found this Inn in the Frommer's Guide - no air conditioning and tiny little stairway up, but well worth it! We will definitely return!

The hotel is a five minute walk from the Piazzale Roma so you don't have to take any water taxis or carry your bags very far. The staff in the hotel are friendly and the buffet breakfast is good. The area is nice and quiet and is a good base to explore Venice from. Our room was at the very top of the hotel and we had our own patio area to sit out and watch the evening sun on the Venice roof tops. Tne only downside is there's no lift!
