Many thanks to all at Villa Stella
Villa Stella on Lido, was easy to get to from Marco Polo airport by taking the Alilaguna boat, and then just a 20 minute walk from the boat stop. If you've got lots of luggage then catch a bus, which is right next to the boat stop, and you can get off close to the hotel. We usually walked so we could pick up a delicious ice cream on the way back. The Villa is small and friendly, which is what we were looking for. It was also exceptionally clean and tidy, but not in the least pretentious. We chose a room with a four poster bed, which... more
Wonderful Villa Stella
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Villa Stella. The hotel was convenient to Venice while offering the quiet of a country b & b. The room was beautiful and the staff was friendly. The breakfast perfect for our needs.
We felt most at home at Villa Stella
We have stayed in many places throughtout europe and this little house is the best value vs cost. For euros 100 we had clean room, comfy bed,air-conditioning,helpful family based staff, delicious breakfasts.Location was convenient at only 20 minutes by chep boats from the heart of the city.Certainly a reccommendation to our friends
Excellent Hotel
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and keen to help, they spoke an excellent standard of english and even managed to understand my poor Italian! The hotel is very beautiful and the rooms were great. I would definately go there again and can whole-heartedly recommend it.
Wonderful stay at the Villa Stella
Excellent stay at a lovely little B&B. You can walk to Artigliere, a restaurant that had fabulous mozzerella and an English menu. The breakfast was really nice with more than adequate choices and a lovely patio with lights for the evening, at street level. We had a nice balcony out front that opened from our triple room with a table and chairs. Everyone was helpful and friendly and spoke English. The area is great for strolling. We preferred the Lido as it is nice and quiet after a hectic day of shopping in the beautiful, but noisy and... more
a happy vacation
we have just returned from Villa Stella - this was a perfect base for us to be able to enjoy Venice. Certainly clean, with comfortable beds, and a surprisingly good breakfast table - when we had a slight problem with traffic noise at the front of the hotel the staff were more than happy to let us move to a quieter room. Everything was as promised and we had a lovely week. The local bus (1 euro) to vaporetto stop was convenient, and a brilliant link to Marco Polo and Torcello
Perfect cozy inn
We stayed 1 week in Villa stella, the room was very nice , clean, very newly updated. Excellent and various buffet breakfast (capuccino was great) We received a great welcoming with a good bottle of prosecco wine in the room and a lots of informations necessary for our days in town. Thanks to the 2 young hosts Stella and Michela, they were great: they reserved for us several trattorias in lido and Venice and all were excellent also we had for1 day two bikes at disposal to explore all lido island(free of charge) we... more
RUDE front desk keeps banker's hours
PROS: Nice place, friendly staff (namely Tina) in the breakfast room (only). BIG CONS: TERRIBLE receptionist who can be extremely SURLY. I was lectured upon checking out that Villa Stella "is a two-star hotel, not a five-star" because I checked out at 7:30 AM. She went on to gripe about how I ruined her day and 10-minutes prior she was sleeping. She also lectured me on using the breakfast room before 8AM (although the room was open, lights on, buffet all prepared and the staff was welcoming). GEEZ...this is the way to treat a paying... more
Management response from vstella

Dear Sir thanks to give us this review. We 'd like only to explain that our B/B has a front desk opening from 8.00 to 23.00 (this information is provide at check in with a detailed paper informative). You asked a fast check out and an early breakfast(that we served anyway ) at 7.00 am The Person "RUDE" is arrived from home in 2 minutes when the waitress called her by phone to prepare your bill ASAP (she explained that for a different service you could choose a different inn category)I think is not offensive. Also you've spent 7 days in this "noisy" room and never you told us about this problem (otherwise we provide a different room). About the safe you never ask for the right key. We are a B/B family management and it's true that we could not offer 24 hours desk, but with a correct informations at the ckeck in and also in the room informations is possible to pay the day before for an early ckeck out (i think is not a problem for a guest) Regret that you never come to visit us again Best regards Michela cafarchia

quite nice !
We stayed here in May 2005 - its a little bit of a walk to get to boat stop but not too bad so long as its not raining ! Rooms are fine and clean and breakfast is good. Local town is quite nice and some nice restaurants. All together we had an enjoyable break and much more peaceful than staying on Venice island itself and at a fraction of the cost.
excellent value including charming owners and good continental breakfast
What a great surprise. I was a little weary and appreshensive, as I never booked a pensione on line. Pictures were true to form and it's nice to sit in the villa's garden to have breakfast and speak to other guests. The guests are very friendly. In a hotel you just go to your room and stay there until you go out; not speaking with anyone. Just beware, on Sunday, the taxi fare was $3.50 E extra for luggage and even the vaperetto charged us for another ticket because we had 3 suitcases. But it was Sunday, and... more
