Buon Pesce Hotel

Booked this hotel on hotels own web site approx 4 weeks before departure.
When we got off the water bus at the Lido, we walked to the hotel which took about 20-25 mins. If we had just turned right and waited for the bus which runs every 10 mins up and down the lido, we would have been dropped off right outside the hotel!
It’s a really good idea to buy a bus/water bus 72 hr pass for a weekend at the airport when you get there, it costs 30 euro each and lets you use water buses and road buses as much as you like it, very good value.
When we arrived at the hotel we handed over our paperwork only to be told, not very politely that there was no booking for us.
We were confused as our paperwork had a confirmation number on it but we were told by the very aggressive receptionist, that this was not a confirmation number, very confused so were we!
She told us we should have received confirmation from the hotel as well. We assured her that we had not and that as we had a confirmation number, we assumed that was it.
I would advise anyone booking directly with the hotel to phone and confirm. After her initial aggressiveness she did in fact find us rooms and became very polite.
The Hotel itself was fine and in a really quiet and beautiful location, for a short stay as you don’t spend much time here anyway.
The rooms were clean, avoid room 30 as it has a portable bathroom stuck in the corner which looks like a caravan bathroom and is VERY small.
The rest of our stay as fine and the staff at breakfast were very nice and polite.
On leaving we encountered another rude receptionist, male this time who shouted at us because we wanted to pay for the 2 rooms separately, and was angry that we had not settled any drink bills as we had gone along.
We had never been told to do this and we had only spent about 60 euro between 2 couples and were settling up now anyway.
Our friends room was a triple and he tried to say that ours was too, but unless it hung from the ceiling there was no way you could fit in another bed.
By this time we were so stunned and upset with his rudeness that we just paid and left, it really spoilt which in every other way, was a lovely time.
