Pass on this hotel and area
Really a very disappointing hotel - the location is good if you want to be in the touristy and overpriced San Marco sestriere and the service was excellent but it was a very worn, tired hotel that has lost its glory. I would definitely not stay here again, nor in this part of town. Pick one of the less-touristy areas.
Excellent...
Stayed in the Torino for 3 nights, and have nothing but positives about the place, excellent location, the superior room, was v good, bed huge, the red walls a little disconcerting at the start, but you get over it. Raimundo on the desk was excellent when we arrived, as were the others we encountered. A very pleasant stay.. and no complaints.........
Hated this Hotel
This was the worst (and one of the most expensive hotels) I have ever stayed at. Pictures are nothing like what I saw at the hotel. I had my camera stolen. I heard someone clanking dishes until late into the night. The room was incredibly small and the shower had mold in it. I could not use my calling card with the phone system there. I wanted to check out the after the first day and was told I would still get charged for the room. It almost ruined my otherwise nice visit to Venice.
disappointed
We booked into the main hotel building but on arrival were told we were in the annex. this puzzled us as our brochure tells us the hotel is 3 star and the annex is 2 star accommodation and we had paid for 3 star accommodation. The staff were efficient but not friendly. A good morning when arriving for breakfast would have been nice. Location excellent, breakfast ordinary, room small but had all requirements necessary. When we departed did they wish us fairwell and asked if we enjoyed Venice No they didnt maybe we were asking for too much!
Great place!
This was a great hotel! We had an adorable room in the annex. The bathroom was huge and we had a private terrace with plants and flowers! The furnishings and decor were all very elegant. We had air conditioning, which was much needed since we were there during a heat wave. There was also a mini bar, which was useful for keeping our own drinks refrigerated as well. The location was excellent -- close to the water bus stop and to Piazza San Marco and all the attractions. It was an easy walk to all the sights. The... more
Torino: nice location, rude evening clerk
The hotel was decent, well located right by Piazza San Marco. We had a "superior double" room, supposedly the nicest they have. And we paid alot for it. The bed was HUGE. We slept well in it. The room and the bathroom were clean, though there were some icky stains on the bedcover and carpet. The room was small, but adequate, though decorated in what can only be called "Ventian Courtesan", all red drapes and wallpaper and green painted furniture. Four poster bed, lovely, but with sticky-outy bits that I was constantly running into. I am... more
Management response from ludo74

Dear Guest, we apologize for the inconvenience anyway we have now a new evening receptionist and in 2008 the hotel has been totally rennoavted

Friendly staff
We stayed for 4 nights over the May Bank Holiday weekend - long enough to do most things. There were 3 of us, (me Peter and Annu!) but they put us in a quad on the 1st floor of the main building with 2 single beds placed together and a sofa bed that converts to a bunk for 2. We thought the hotel was expensive for what it was, however I think this is more to do with Venice in general which seemed to be expensive to do everything! Best value thing is to go on a traghetti/gondola for 50c – beats paying 80 euros for a proper gondola... more
Really central
Great location about 5 minutes walk fron St. Marks square. If you are into that sort of stuff it is right in the middle of designer shopping heaven. Hotel itself is OK, Ac and TV only CNN for English speakers. Breafast room on the small side but never too long a wait. Great value for christmas week 55 euro all in including breakast (stayed Crhristmass week 2004)
Great Hotel
Had an amazing experience at the hotel this past July. Everyone on the hotel staff was very amazing by giving us directions and restaurant suggestions. The room was big, had a TV, nice bathroom for european standards and had AC. Breakfast was good. Only downfall is there is no elevator but because hotel is historical they cant put one in, but the decor inside made up for all of this. I will definatly return in the future.
Temper your expectations - you get what you pay
We booked this hotel well-prepared, after reading the other reviews. This was definitely not our first choice but there were many tourists in town that weekend in last month Nov and cheaper rooms in that expensive city were in short supply. We had the quad on the topmost floor of the main building - think it's also offered as a junior suite with 2 single beds placed together and a sofabed that converts to a bunk for 2. Climbing to our room on the first day was torture with our luggage. But after that we got used to it. The previous... more
