This hotel was lovely, its extremely clean and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were polite and could speak English as our Italian was a little rusty! With the waterbus stop directly outside its very convenient. Fresh continental every morning which was lovely. The... more

Better than expected!
We were expecting to get to the hotel and be greeted by a rude receptionist having read some of the reviews before going...this wasn't the case at all. The staff were polite and always said hello! The room was nice, a bit small but had everything you need, had a mini bar which was handy. The room was very stuffy at night time. The Television in the room only had italian channels so wasn't much point in having one really, although you can get the sky remote from reception for a fee. The location was lovely, right outside the door was a bus stop which was very handy! If you want to get the bus boat anywhere and are staying for a weekend it is worth walking up the road to the newsagents and buying a 3 day pass for 25 euros. Would recommend Venice (and Tre Archi) to anyone who doesn't mind doing abit of walking!
Absolutely Charming
I found this hotel to be wonderfully charming - having stayed in number of hotels throughout Italy, Greece and France I was in heaven here! Our room was extremely small but was one of the only rooms with its own balcony. It was on the top floor and, no, there is no lift but c'mon.... don't be afraid to walk a little!!! I would definitely stay here again (and the fact that it was spotless certainly didn't hurt).
Watch your head
If you have the room 313, good luck, 4 stairs with no elevator and a room for very small people. 6 foots in the middle of the room and 4-5 in the side. Prepare to walk on your knee.
Easy to Find
We were happy at how easy it was to find this hotel after hearing all the stories about the narrow little streets you get lost in, and bad Venice maps (which is true by the way). It was only about a 10 minute walk from the train station, and the directions on the hotel web site were easy to follow. I would agree that the staff were not very approachable or overly friendly, but they were polite enough. Our rooms were clean, and had a bit of character - ours overlooked the canal - very nice view. Suitable for a short stay. Breakfast was not terrific - we agree that it was unimaginative - basically a few pastries, coffee and cereal only. The actual breakfast room was bright and lovely though. Overall - a nice stay for the price (considering everywhere else seemed very expensive in Venice) - we'd probably stay there again, unless we heard of a better hotel for the same price!
good news, bad news
This hotel is in a great location, overlooking the lagoon and canal and in walking distance of Guglie which is a local shopping area and, beyond, the sights of Venice. That is a long walk but you get to see more. The hotel is basic. Clean and recently renovated bathrooms but small rooms with few frills. There is no lift and it can be wearing if you are on the second floor. It is worth noting that the entire hotel is non-smoking. The staff are disinterested and there is no tourist information so you need to have planned ahead. Breakfast is unimaginative but OK. Waterbuses are regular and a great way to get around but it can be difficult with luggage, so be prepared for a scrum!
Easy to find...unfriendly staff.
When we arrived in Venice we found the hotel very easily. Once we arrived, we were struggling to get our bags up the main steps (about 5 steps) NO ONE came to help us as they watched us carry in our bags all by ourself. I think if you don't speak Italian, they snub you. They didn't tell us we needed to "ask" for the remote so we spent 15 minutes searching all over the room. The room was clean, a little small, but nice, except the bathroom was an "all in one" meaning their is no shower door/curtain, you just stand in the middle of the bathroom and shower! We came from Florence and Rome where we got spoiled with actual showers. And PS, if you stay on the 1st floor, you will hear the clinking of the dishes for breakfast very early, ask to be moved to another floor. Overall it was an ok stay, but a little pricy for the service and quality of the room!
Excellent location, shame about the staff
Chose this hotel after reading other reviews on trip advisor which were very helpful and correct. The hotel is really in an excellent location - very easy to get to you when you first arrive, straight on a vaporetti and the stop is right outside the hotel. Not too far to walk to all the main sights, only about 20 minutes to the Rialto but quite nice to escape the busy areas at night. Plenty of good restaurants and local bars in the locality - lovely local restaurant opposite the hotel with good food but quite slow service. Also very close to the vaporetti stop (opposite side of the canal) which takes you to the islands of Murano (glass), Burano (lace) and Torcello (if you like very quaint old churches) - the islands are a must. I have to agree with the last comment regarding the staff, I am sure they would have been helpful if asked but generally were not approachable or friendly but the hotel was clean and the conservatory where you had breakfast was nice and airy and comfortable. Breakfast very basic but adequate - a few people bought fruit from the local market and had that for breakfast which seemed to be ok with the management. Don't stay in room 103, it is right next to the little kitchen area where they make coffee in the morning! Would probably stay here again because the location far outweighs the slightly unfriendly staff.
Most unfriendly staff ever met
Excellent location, next to a vaparetto stop, just far enough away from the busy parts but close enough to walk for 5-10 minutes and be in the centre of it all. Very good eating nearby. Staff were not friendly in any way, they did not want to talk to you, or even have any eye contact or do anything to make the stay pleasant. This included manager & reception staff. They are in the service industry, their job is to make peoples stay as enjoyable as possible. Unfortunatley they failed miserably in this. All it takes is a few smiles and a hello and goodbye. Only the guy who was on at nights, not the manager, made any attempt. We had to ask for the remote for the TV, it was in our box with room key but when we asked her for it she just said remember to bring it back down when you leave!! We were in room 211 which was very small, not sure if all like this. It was at back so very quiet. Unfortunately church bells sound in mornings at 7am, so no long lie in bed. Aircon was not switched on until about the 3rd day. Overall stay was not unpleasant but could, with a few very simple things, have been much better. Would I go back again, unfortunately not.
Delightful
My wife and I stayed in Room 115 in mid-March. The room had a large window facing the canal. We quite enjoyed the hotel. The breakfast room is full of wonderful morning light. The breakfast fare (described in another recent review) was enjoyable. Friendly folks at the front desk suggested two nice nearby restaurants. We've begun to notice hotel rooms with universal electrical outlets and built-in voltage converters, which Tre Archi had in the bathroom. The only drawback (which is shared with many European hotels and Carribbean cruse ships) is the annoying practice of pushing two twin beds together and calling it a "double."
Nice Hotel, Some Drawbacks
This was a very nice little hotel and a good value, but it had several drawbacks...the rooms while pleasant, were dark, there were no bedside tables or lights, the walls a little thin. The hotel is a residential area of Venice, with many good restaurants wihtin walking distance and a vaporrati stop right in front of the hotel, which was a great help, considering that the Railway Station was really the only place in walking distance.
