lovely hotel
we stayed here out of season and had a wonderful time. The rooms were small but very well decorated with nice views and extremely clean. The directions to the hotel were very clear and it was fairly close to the rialto and other main attractions. The staff were helpful and understanding. Breakfast was basic but perfectly acceptable. All in all an excellent hotel and very good value for money.
Satisfied customer
I stayed here between Christmas and New Year, at a very competitive price! As other reviewers said, this hotel is very comfortable, convenient for exploring the city and has a good atmosphere. I had a compact, well-appointed single room, with everything I needed. The buffet breakfast was good. I would certainly stay here again.
Nice Hotel - Recommend!
The previous review pretty much covered everything. If you want to be more around the locals than fellow tourists, this is the place to stay. Convenient to everything and extremely nice, well maintained, and nicely priced. Recommend highly!
fantastic hotel for 3 stars
I have just sayed at the Hotel Forcola in Venice with my 12 year old daughter, its a really safe area and I had no problems walking alone in the evening. The hotel is a 3 star and spotless, every corner of the hotel was pristine and clean, the staff were extremely nice especially Rita on reception, who went out of her way to be helpfull and recommend places to go, and to give local information (Its nice to have a friendly face when traveling alone or alone with children!!) The room was really nice I requested a balconey and... more
Great little find!!
I stayed here with my young teenage cousin in August. I had been recommended this hotel by someone who had previously stayed there, and cannot thank him enough! The rooms were immaculately clean - we had a junior suite room - which had a room with a single bed, wardrobe and desk, 2 chairs, then off this room were the bathroom and the main bedroom. The whole suite had 5 windows, 3 of which where double french windows - very impressed!! The bedroom had a tv, minibar and a dressing table. The rooms are also air conditioned which worked... more
La Forcola - Only Average
I give La Forcola an average rating. We stayed for three nights. This hotel is only average because we had reserved two rooms (a single and the double suite) and in both rooms the safes did not work... after telling the front desk, they never even looked at them, they simply said that it could not be fixed - we then asked them to place our passports in their safe at the front desk and upon check out, they pulled them out of a drawer... not sure if they really have a safe at the front desk... also, my mother in-laws TV did not work and... more
Such a lovely hotel
Such a lovely hotel, great location on Strada Nuova, even though a bit noisy for the constant flow of people passing under our windows (we had a room overlooking the Strada Nuova) and some local guys with their little motor boat that were coming and going. Apart from that, the room and bathroom were lovely, the buffet breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices (sliced cheese, ham, pies and cakes, jam, nutella, croissants, coffee, juice, milk, cereals). The staff was helpful, and again, the location was perfect, a few steps from San... more
Good value... but don't forget your wellies!
We very much enjoyed our stay at La Forcola. Our room was very pleasant with bifold doors opening to a lovely balcony overlooking the canal. The breakfast was good and the staff very helpful. The hotel is in a good location, and a reasonably close walk to the station (important if you have luggage!) There was one problem however. While we stayed in Venice there were a number of king tides which meant it was not possible to leave the hotel without getting your feet wet (I dare say this is common to most hotels on the island, however). You... more
Great little hotel, convenient, good breakfast
I got a good off-season rate. I went through Ryanairhotels.com but you might be able to do as well through the hotel directly. My single room was small, but very clean. It had matching wallpaper, chair upholstery, and bedspread. It had hardwood floors. There were a matching dark wood wardrobe, desk, chair, and bed. There was a terrace overlooking a courtyard, and I could put items out there to remain reasonably cold (I visited in December). The ensuite bathroom might be a bit quirky for American preferences, but it worked fine for... more
Good value
My friend and I stayed at this hotel for one night, and found it to be a fine hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms with nice finishes, and a relatively good location for Venice. The room had hardwood flooring, private bathroom with shower, central air conditioning, small television, phone, mini fridge, and reasonably comfortable beds. The hotel is close enough to the train station that you can walk with your suitcase on wheels and save the 8.5 euro fare for the waterbus each way, and Venice is small enough that you're still not very far... more
