Hospitality plus!!
Arrived here Jan. 17 without reservation for 2 nites. Host was more than accomodating. When I got lost wandering, he came and got me (with a big smile)--he picks up and drops off at bus & train stations, took me to see temples lit at night, dropped off at Valley of Temples next morning and I took bus #2 home very easily. Room was spacious, but a little cool. For anyone not renting a car, Villa Amico is a must! Joan, Pottstown, PA USA
As per the reviews! very good lodgings
Not sure what to expect initially, we were pleasently suprised. After making it from Palermo to Agrigento with the car in one piece, getting lost was not the first choice. so being met by the owner and directed to his place was extremely helpful. Then, after dropping off the bags we went back out in the cars and had the highlights ponined out to us and a map provided. The rooms were clean and a good size and breakfast was also nice and friendly. All the reccomendations were spot on, would go back
Go for it, friendly environment and host!
If you ever think to go to the Temple Valley, Villa Amico is the choice. Perfectly located, short bus trip to the Temples, a bike ride from the seaside... a friendly and chatty host that is always ready to explain where to go. All the indications about places to eat were simply great (seafood and icecreams!). And the rooms are clean, large and confortable (even aircos if you go during the summer). Free bicycles... What to say more? See you again there! Grazie
A great place to stay
The rooms were large, clean, and ours had a terrarce. The hotel has all the facilities that you could need and at such a cheap price. The owner was very friendly and would do anything to help. A lovely location near to the sea. I would highly recommend this place!
An excellent B&B!!!
On the day we arrived, the host came to pick us up at the bus station. The rooms are clean, spaceful and well accomodated. The host is very friendly, enthusiastic and speaks English very fluently. He took us around the neighbourhood and gave good advice about restaurants and places to go to. He also showed us the temples by night with his car. The beach is very near and we could use bikes to get there (for free). Breakfast is rich and very good. Because one of the rooms wasn't rented the next day, our luggage could stay there until we... more
Excellent Agrigento B&B
I stayed at the Villa Amico with my daughter for two nights in September 2004 and can heartily recommend it. The host is particularly warm and welcoming and conversation (in English!) with him at breakfast was a highlight. The Villa Amico is excellently placed for a trip to the Valley of the Temples and only a 10-minute walk from the sea front in San Leone. I wouldn't hesitate to return.
A very good place to stay near the valley of the temples
The host is extremely friendly and helpful. On the night we arrived, he led us in his car to the valley of the temples and to Agrigento. Since the room we were in wasn't occupied the next day, he let us come back in the afternoon for a shower after a trip to the beach on the day we left. I think he will do what he can within reason to make your stay pleasant. We paid 60 euro for a double room, but it is still a good deal. It was comfortable, clean and except for the standard-size shower cabin, quite a bit more spacious than the other... more
great time in villa amico
we spent 2 nights at this very friendly B and B The landlord is very nice and loves speaking about everything . he gives you good addresses ! Rooms are large and clean. Breakfast could be more typically Italian !!!! Don't hesitate go there you won't be disappointed but don't forget to check dates and your booking by phoning the landlord !!!! :-)
Recommendation
If you are looking for a quiet, clean and economical place close to both the Temples and the beach, this bed and breakfast is for you. The rooms are large and private. Pierdimenico, the owner, is both helpful and interesting to talk to. His English is quite good. A nice touch is the free use of bicylces that are great for riding down to the ocean.
A B&B above the average
I've been in Sicily last month and I've stayed at Villa Amico for 1 night. Far from the confusion of Agrigento, Villa Amico is located near the beach and near Valle dei Templi, in a nice and calm location. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also clean. But, most of all, the sympathy of the owner was outstanding. Besides getting us when we arrived to San Leone (even though he was getting dinner with some friends), we had a pleasant conversation with him while we were taking our breakfast. I really recommend... more
