Stay there, you will not regret the decision.
Our room was really clean, they have good food and the pool is wonderfull this is the second time we've stayed there, we enjoyed the place very much. The staff is friendly professional and respectfull; Marie C; Glorpa C; Mariel; Ibana and Wislane were all amazing. If one is into popular and impersonal hotel then the Regal Sun Resort is not the place to stay but if one wants value, location and a killer view of disney then go there. "the view from our room was simply breathtaking". Overall we had a good time there and would recommend the hotel to anyone
Good for the money
There were obviously better places to stay in Orlando, but for the money I really could not complain. First off, it is right next door to downtown Disney! That was a huge plus since we were on vacation. Secondly, the pool was great, my daughter loved it... was a little scared since she is only 2 but she liked it. The service I found was very accommodating... they were very kind and attentive to our needs... if we needed more towels, all we had to do was ask and we got it. When there was a mistake on our bill, it was taken off, no questions asked. The rooms are small, but very clean... since it was only a place to sleep and shower.. I really did not care... we spent most of our time at the parks anyway.... if you want to eat... order a kids meal... it is only 6 dollars and big enough for an adult!! (the restaurant upstairs is the best, very big serving on the kids meal for 6 dollars…) If you want luxury, this is not the hotel for you... if you want a nice place next to downtown Disney and a place to rest your head to be refreshed for the parks the next day, this is the Hotel for you!
Service was TERRIBLE!
I was very surprised to see so many good reviews of this hotel. We had a pool room view, but it felt like a motel vs. resort type room. The room was small and outdated. In the pictures, they only show the big tower, not the smaller outside rooms where we stayed. The service was so unbelievably bad. When we got there our room keys did not work, so we had to wait to get into our room while my husband went back to the lobby which was a good hike. Then we get into our room and we have 2 towels and 2 wash cloths for 4 people. So, we go to call down and our phone does not work. This time we use our cell phone to call and they sent a maintenance guy who basically tells us there's nothing they can do except change rooms. Once again, by husband went back to the lobby and they offer him a room in the main tower, but since it's an upgrade we'll have to pay the difference! Unbelievable. We decided to stay where we were since it was only for 2 nights and we had already unpacked. We called several more times to get towels but they never came. We even hunted down a maid and she told us they were all out! We ended up using pool towels to bathe. Overall, this was not a good experience and I would not return. Also, the hallways and elevators looked really old. I don't know what part of the hotel has been renovated because it definitely was not the part where we stayed. On the plus side, the pool was very nice and the main pool was slightly heated. That's really about the only positive thing though. The basketball court was falling apart. There were parts of this hotel that really need to be updated. It's now under new ownership by Wyndam, so maybe they will make the necessary improvements in service and renovations.
What a view!!
My husband & I went for a short weekend getaway, hoping to have a romantic weekend away from our 4 year old..& we got it! We stayed in the tower on the 19th floor, king size bed & amazing view of downtown Disney... The bed was a little hard, but the view at sunset made up for it! We met a hilarious bartender named "Drew" who made me laugh til my face hurt...& a wonderful bellhop "Stan" who was one of the nicest people iv met in a long time. The pool is awesome, the beers nice & cold. We also had room service deliver breakfast & bloodymarys-both were fantastic! We'll definitely be back soon,& for the price you can't ask for anything else!
Great location, friendly staff, beautiful pool
We have stayed at the Regal Sun many times, and we will be back. Great location for all Disney parks, walking distance to Downtown Disney. The staff is always friendly. Beautiful pool area. Good breakfast buffet...always fun to have breakfast with the Disney characters.
Motel 6 with Pool
We booked this hotel in err for 6 nights. Upon arrival on Nov 9th, we found the lobby, restaurant and pool area to be very beautiful but beyond that, the hotel is very dirty, dingy and outdated, For a thrill, you only need to ride the elevator. Dont;t be fooled by the suggestion of "renovation" (equals bad paint job and addition of low-end granite tops in bathrm) The rooms are very small and only included a mini-refrigerator. We had numerous issues that included: No light bulbs in lamp fixtures Towels and wash cloths were not replaced unless called Game token machine took money Heat in room did not work Requested wake up call and no one ever called The heated pool is cold Spa Jacuzzi is fuming with chlorine The maintenance staff replaced blown out light bulbs and someone always came to replenish towels whenever we called but in my opinion, if you are taking four dirty towel and wash cloths out of room, it doesn't take rocket science to know you need to replace them with 4 clean ones. The up side is that we spent very little time in our room. The hotel is located in the midst of Walt Disney property. The money we saved from booking at a more upscale hotel was used for dining, shopping, entertainment and theme park experiences.
What a great place to stay!
We had a room in the tower block which gave excellent views over DTD with Epcot, DHS and AK in the distance. The staff were most helpful. The Director of Fun - Jill Arnold - must have the best job in the world! Our housekeeper, Rosa, looked after us very well and kept our room neat and tidy for us. The location is terrific - just across the road from DTD - with shuttle buses to the Disney Parks from outside the front door and a Lynx bus stop just down the road. Taxis were available at a reasonable cost and were very nice cars. All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone not wanting to hire a car as the location is so convenient and the free transport a bonus.
This Hotel is the absolute best i've ever been to.
Regal sun resort is my favorite hotel. Its really clean. It has friendly service. and the housekeepers are great. They cleaned my room and it was spotless. Our maid was Yia Lee. She is a great cleaner. I would go to the hotel again anyday. They have an awesome waterpark for my kids. My kids and me had a blast. I can't wait to go there again.
PERFECT! CLEAN, AFFORDABLE, FRIENDLY STAFF, GREAT LOCATION!!
We just got back from staying at the Regal Sun Resort with our 12 yr. old daughter. Everyone we dealt with, from the minute we started planning our trip, was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our rooms were very clean and ready for our early check in. Dewan, at the front desk, was cheerful to answer any of our questions. Marie gave us, and everyone else in line before us, patient and friendly support while purchasing tickets for theme parks and shows. This hotel is run very well and you won't find a better location. We were across the street from Downtown Disney, which has great restaurants and shopping. We used the Regal Sun's shuttle or Disney transportation to go everywhere...both at no charge. We chose to rent a car which was perfect for getting us to the non Disney parks and other restaurants around the area.
I want to come back
2 weeks with my wife and 2 little girls was just not enough, I didn't want to go home. The room was not big, nor were the beds, but everything we needed was there and cleaned up nicely every day. The kids especially loved the way their teddy bears and such was arranged on the bed when we came home. The staff was very service minded and especially Tammy & Charlene deserve thanks for the excellent service when we came down for breakfast. Even on obviously very busy mornings there was always a smile and a few kind words to give us a good start on the day. I hope to find them both still there if/when we come back.
