Hotel Majestic Barcelona

This is a lovely hotel and is well placed for sightseeing and shopping. All the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating – they all spoke exceptionally good English.
The room was clean and double glazed with a TV that had UK channels. At the time of our stay there were renovation works to the façade of the building but to the hotels credit there was a warning label on the window to that effect. The room/hotel was quite warm despite the thermostat being turned down and the air con turned on. The downside was the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room and breakfast wasn’t included in the price, (We should have checked when we booked!). There are plenty of cafes and bars to have breakfast in but the breakfasts weren’t as we’d expected – then again we were in Barcelona and not the Costa Del Sol.
Must Do’s. . . Book the official tour bus. 1 day tickets from the hotel or 2 days (26€) can be bought on the bus (Bus takes cash only). Well worth the money as it’s a hop on hop off. You’ll be able to see all the major attractions from the bus and visit them if you want to.
Take yourself off to the Park Guell by Antoni Gaudi. Park Guell was commissioned by Eusebi Güell who wanted to create a stylish park for Barcelona aristocracy.
Also, take a walk through the Barri Gotic and all its streets and quirky shops
Although the weather was meant to be warm, the forecast was wrong. We had the first rain in Barcelona for 3 months. . . and near enough all the shops were closed on the Sunday.
It was, all in all a pleasant 3 days in Barcelona.
