This really is the most beautiful hotel with only 47 rooms made up from old buildings renovated into one over the top baroque style hotel.
It has a great restaurant (lots of fish) a coffee shop and an underground spa with reasonable price treatments which was very relaxing. Although the pool was slightly cool the sauna was nice and there is a steam bath but only big enough for one or two if you know each other well.
The rooms were lovely and sumptuous although my only disappointment with our room was that the bathroom was a little small and they were either rooms with showers (big walk in style) or baths not both. However when I rang down to reception they did offer me another room with a bath but that was a little smaller and on the ground floor when the room we had was on the 1st with doors opening to a little courtyard with a fountain.
The staff were lovely and helpful and even made me the hot chocolate I wanted before bed, but be warned hot chocolate there meant literally a cup filled with melted chocolate, the spoon stood up! Yummy but sickly, ask for it with milk.
The really good thing with this place is the location, round the corner to Charles Bridge, yards from St Nics church a steep walk up the hill takes you to the castle and lots of sights, and it has lots of places to drink and eat that are not filled with hen or stag parties. It is however next to the American Embassy which may put some off but that also ensures a 24 our police presence and little traffic.
Would stay again beds comfy and chandeliers to die for - if that’s your thing.
