Great Hotel I've ever experienced
We've just came back yesterday after 1 lovely week holiday in Atlantis Hotel. We were four young Couple age 20s who really enjoyed being there. Every thing was really perfect: beautiful clean pools, nice bars, lovely restaurants, friendly staff, entertainment, and etc. The foods were really delicious and endless. The staff were very friendly. Most people were from Russia, Belgic, Turley, Scotland, and few Italian, French, and other European countries. But most people could speak English. There was only one point. If you are single and you're looking for someone, this hotel is not suitable for you. Otherwise it is a perfect hotel for you.
Two adults and three kids had a great time!
Got back from a week at the Atlantis on 11 June. We had needed to book 2 x rooms for our party of 5. A litle disappointed on arrival when our allocated rooms were across the corridor from one another, but a trip to the reception the next morning sorted our problem out. The reception staff were most helpful and showed us to a huge suite so we could all be together. The suite was spacious, had wonderful sea views and being complete with circular sunken bath I was very happy indeed! Our children are 6, 7 and 11 and they loved staying all inclusive. We were never short of anything and the food was great. Some food is cooked in front of you and there's an outdoor barbecue pit which was always in plentiful supply of meats at dinner. My favourite though was the stirfry, very tasty! I have never known my 6 yr old be so full that he had to sit back in his chair holding his very full tummy - he did at the Atlantis! The pools were great too. If you enjoy getting involved with pool games then the huge pool at the back of the hotel near the beach is for you. If you prefer something a litte quieter, there's another pool in the middle of the hotel which is equally as lovely but does not get as packed as the main pool. Kids were up and down the slides all day! The stretch of beach that the hotel fronts is very nice, and there was a welcome breeze here too. So all in all, rooms were clean and mini-bar was replenished daily, staff were friendly, grounds were clean, pools were great, good selection of food, the entertainment team worked really hard and the beach was great for a mid-morning stroll - the only downside is that when you read in the brochure that this is a Thomas Cook UK Exclusive, don't be fooled that it will be full of Brits. On the contrary, as Thomas Cook is the only UK tour operator, the hotel is packed with guests of German, Russian and Turkish tour operators and we were very much in the minority here. All 3 of my boys gave this holdiay a big thumbs up with 10/10!! Happy kids makes happy parents in my book so we all enjoyed our stay here!
Amazing hotel best holiday in years!!!!!!
Just got back yesterday it was totally amazing :) The pools:- well what can i say they where masive and plenty of them too, with 3 slides in one of them and over the other side of the hotel there is a babe pool large pool and it has 1 more water slide and waterfall. there is also a smaller babes pool in the kid's club (lolly pop club) The food:- again very good i must say try all the ala cart (5 of them) they where amazing. You have to pay a service charge for the sushi and the fish ones but it is only 5 or 6 euro's each (DON'T PAY FOR A BOTTLE OF WINE IN THEM IF YOU ASK FOR HOUSE IT IS FREE OTHER WISE IT IS ABOUT £20). In the main buffet the food is beautiful, and there is a chineese corner which i must say was beautiful. The only think i can honestly say i missed was a nice bacon sarnie :) The entertainment:- Was mainly aimed at the russkies (russian) or germans, but still very funny. Day time:- there was plenty of games and activities to do ie:- darts (really funny a must play) pool games these where totally for fun if you don't like making a fool of your self don't play lol. aqua gym for the first few days there was a russian girl doing it she got the sack she wasn't very good but then Umit took over it was really good. best entertainers where "UMUT, UMIT, EROLD, HUSSAIN and ALAY" there are 2 umit's you will know which i am talking about he is the mad one lol. The hotel:- amazing we have stayed at belek before but i have to say the entrance was better than this one but the rooms where massive and i mean massive we had a family 4 and i can honestly say it would take 5 or 6 people. The whole hotel was tastfully decorated quite trendy (what we like). The staff:- Most of them spoke a little english some better than others. Put your towels under the sink if you want them to be changed. Also put your sheets in a pile in the middle of you bed if you want fresh they only change every other day (some times 3 days otherwise). My son had an asthma attack one night at the night club/ disco the staff where amazing. The following night we went down and the dj waved me over to ask how he was and never put the smoke machine on whislt we where there. The best staff we found where savi and adem and bayram (sevi was in the hotel we where at the last time we went to belek) Money:- Take either Euro's and a few lira also before going shopping check the exchange rate in the lobby so you don't get ripped off. If you a Buying R&R vdv jeans don't pay more than 25 euro G star 35 euro vb t shirts and vest not over 12 and g star not over 20 if you buy in bulk you can get them down alot more. I will be posting my photo's soon as i can find my camra lol hope you have a fab holiday here as i know we did. say hi to Umit and Hussain and umut from me they are amazing
Bar staff were Brilliant, Hotel Amazing
when we first arrived at the hotel it was late on and we were thirsty after our long journey so me and a few family members went to the lobby bar and asked for a drink but we didnt realise that you had to pay for your drinks after 12pm, any way the bar people on that night were really friendly towards us and offered us a drink even though they shouldnt have. the hotel looked amazing at night with all the lights on round the pool and down at the beach was so lovely and relaxing at night, the hotel looks even better in the day because you can actually see how big the hotel actually is, the hotel has more than one pool and there is three slides so if you have children they will be occupied for the day as you adults catch the sun ! the food in the hotel was nice but to save you from getting bord of the food i would advise you to book into the ''Mexican' and 'Italian' restaurants so that you can have a change on the food and when i was on holiday i didnt get to go to them restaurants but my family said the 'Italian' restaurant was really nice. as you get further into the holiday you start to meet some really nice staff and i met 2 bar staff that were so friendly and welcoming and they were called 'Bayram' and 'Kerimcan', Bayram works in most of the bars around the hotel and Kerimcan usually workrd in the disco or in the day time was working in the restaurant by the pool ! in the day time there is a kids club for those who have little children and when ever i saw the kids they looked like there were having a good time, there is a few games played in day time in the olympic pool and that is targeted for the adults and that is run by the animation team. the night life was really good at the night time as there was a show that started at 9.30pm and after the show finished there was a disco at the beach that started at 11pm and at the disco it is soo good as there is alot of people they who are either having a drink or having a dance once they've had their drinks !!!!
Nice hotel - Problem with entertainment
We stayed at the Atlantis for the two weeks commencing 30th April 2006. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with its own private beach. There are lots of free sunbeds, parasols and matresses. The food is good and plentiful with a tendency towards Turkish food, lots of salads and meatballs. The chinese corner is excellent. We ate out on the terrace for nearly all our meals and as long as someone always stays at the table this is great, if not the birds come and eat off the plates!! We eventually managed to book the a la carte and this is very good, although while we were there there were only 6 tables of the Turkish and Italian available and it was a case of waiting for guest relations to open at approx 8.30 a.m. so you could book for the following night. They would not take advance bookings. There are two things to remember when booking this hotel. 1. This is a conference centre. There were several conferences/ seminars while we were there. The first week it did not bother us too much although there was a beach party advertised in the lounge and this turned out to be only for delegates. The second week there was a big conference and on a couple of nights the delegates took over the bar and it was very difficult to get served, also part of the grounds were sealed off during the day while a barbeque was prepared for them. On our final weekend there was yet another conference and a party was prepared for them in the grounds around us while we were sunbathing. This could have been accepted if not for: 2. The Entertainment. This to put it mildy was dire. The animation team were excellent during the day but at night the shows mainly consisted of quizzes, comedy sketches, which in certain cases were suggestive although children were still in the theatre, and certainly not funny, and a few shows. These were Grease, which was badly mimed and included a comedian who bore no resemblance to anyone in Grease. A dance show which was good as long as you did not mind waiting for up to five minutes between acts while they changed costumes and a Broadway Tribute which again was badly mimed. This was the good entertainment! The alternative was a pianist is the lounge who played loudly and badly for twelve out of the fourteen nights we were there. We could not find anywhere to get out of the way. To make it worse he played the same repetoire every single night!! He competed with a plasma screen television in one corner, and on the night of the barbeque with the noise of the disco coming from the grounds. We could not even go back to our rooms to watch television as there is no English channel. Luckily we were with friends and spent every night playing cards. When we mentioned this to the rep we were told that up to a few weeks before the entertainment had been excellent but the Russians had complained and it had been changed. The entertainment was due to move outside the day after we left. It had caused bad feeling with a lot of people that during the two weeks we had been there entertainment had been provided for conference delegates in the grounds but we had been left with the dire entertainment in the hotel, there was only the lobby bar in the hotel open at this time. This is a five star hotel all inclusive hotel and there is nowhere to go at night without getting a taxi. We love Southern Turkey but would not go back as the tendency now seems to be to cater for Russians.
only 80% there
Just got back 07/06/06 very early this morning.Hotel and facilities were great could not fault the pools or the cleanliness of the place . was not to busy so felt like you had your own favourite pool.Food would have been a big let down if not for their themed nights the mexican was nice my 8 yr old loves his food but would not eat after 4 days was bored with it.And maybe im on my own but at least 5 other familys who were there at the same time agreed that the entertainment was a big let down ended up costing a fortune in the mini arcade. been to Spain and Lanzarote their locals seem to know how to treat the tourists but was to scared to run the rat race. Would consider it again but maybe in a few years when its a bit more modernised i know your in a foreign country but i feel there is not much for the British.
just this day got back
we just got back from atlantis. we went there last year and found it absolutely brilliant so decided to go b. the food was good and the hotel was very clean but the entertainment want a patch on last years group. (umit and tanya are still there from lst year). durind the day there were workers painting round the ppol, sanding the dech and cutting wood. there was enough to do in the day but as soon as the show had finished at night there was nothing to do as it wasnt season (last year we went in july and every bar was open). on the very last night of out holiday was brilliant as the entertainment was brought outside for the beginning of the season then after the show we moved o to live music and the outside bar then moved straight on to the beach bar ( like last year in july) all out love to umit, tanya, umut and necdet xxxxxxxxxx
Just returned from a week at Atlantis.......
Have just returned from a week all inclusive at the Atlantis and had a good time The hotel is situated in an exclusive tourist area and a distance from the local towns, so makes a wander off campus a bit of a task (Taxi, bus or tractor) The room was a good size and clean and the housekeeping kept it that way. The food, altough basic, (after all they are catering for a large number of guests) was plentiful and of a good quality and choice, the deserts were of a very high quality. The staff were very good polite and always ready to assist, some had a basic grasp of English but if they experienced problems a colleague with better English was always avaliable to assist (all the staff were able to survive with Engish, German, Russian and anything else I heard thrown at them) The entertainment was what let this holiday down, we were there for a week lying in the sun and relaxing, so this short fall didn't effect us, but the constant complaints from other guests was that for those, especially with children (the staff were very good with them, when they did provide something) there was very little laid on and the evening entertainment was made up of miming to songs with a comical approach, but mainly in German, and we left on a number of occassions having not understood the jokes. The bar staff were spot on and we were royaly looked after by Sahin in the lobby bar, but the lack of anything more than a man on the piano (not partically well played either.) was all that was laid on in the main focal area in the evenings. Overall we had a good time and it suited our needs, and on the way back to the airport reports of the entertainment from other hotels matched the entertainment here at the Atlantis, so staying else where would have made no difference. We unfortunatley flew with Thomas Cook and this brought the holiday down with an hour and 15 min delay on ther way out, (ended up being the third from last flight out of gatwick that night) and a 2 hour and 25 min delay on the way back, (when you consider we left the room at 11am and the flight didn't leave till 6.20 am the following morning) it ended badly, but this cannot be blamed on the Atlantis. One thing to remember the free stuff stops at midnight, so if you go to the Disco in the evening, after this cut off point you pay about 6 Lira for a small local beer and they state the Turkish bath is included (again this is not entirley true, the bath is free, the massage that goes with it isn't, and this will cost you about 80 Lira, (cheaper if you use your tour operator)
great deal
Just returned from a week at the Atlantis, and enjoyed every moment. Excellent facilities, very clean, good food, animation team do well considering all the languages they cater for. Only negative would be the location, as a little remote need a taxi to nearest centre. The hotel was reasonably quiet while we were there, not sure what it would be like when full.
hotel rave
my friend and I have just returned from a week long holiday at this resort and although the weather was rotten we had a great time. The hotel was clean, tidy and our room was very comfy with all we could want in the bathroom department. The restuarant food was well presented, varied, you MUST try out the "Chinese Corner" and very more~ish (I put on 1/2 stone) . The animation team were great, check out their "Blues Bro's" routine on the "Broadway" hits night. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Apart from the weather, which they can't control, I fail to find anything to complain about and will return to this hotel in the next year or so and take my family with me. I had a great time, so will you ! trig & pal
