Hotel Description:

An especially good choice for couples of any age, the Club is a friendly, family-run hotel - in a great location to enjoy Sant Agnello's attractions. A 100 metre stroll would bring you to resort's cluster of craft shops, cafe bars and pizza and pasta restaurants. There are sunbeds* available at the rocky La Marinella beach, 800 metres away. And with a local train station nearby, it's easy to explore neighbouring towns and resorts too. Due to a number of steps to the pool, this property may be unsuitable for those with walking difficulties.

" The Drive from Naples airport is... "

The Drive from Naples airport is fantastic. You go from the poverty and urbanisation of Naples to the most beautiful cliffs and sea in the world.

The graffiti is fantastic, what talented young artists! But really, it is rough. But so amazing to see!

San Angello, there wasn't very much there and it was built up. There was a nice cafe/rest. Heading towards la marinella which had British specialities, as well as all your Italian favourites, the owner was friendly and looked like minty from Eastenders.

The hotel itself- The family- are- Wonderful! Angelo is the sweetest old man, can't do enough for you!!! And his son Luigi is just as lovely. Giovanna was a bit scary and watches you as you use her precious coffee machine, and does it for you if she thinks you aren't capable! But really a sweet bunch!

Lunch snacks are fantastic, but the evening meals are hideous. Really really horrible. Go B&B if you can and eat out.

It's a great base if you want to explore, the pool is small, and there are hardly any free chairs. But it only gets busy towards the end of the day. There are some nice bars that play music near the hotel. But apart from that there isn't much to do. There were a few clubs, but I didn't explore them.

If you like people watching, go to la marinella. It’s down the cliff and costs 7 Euros per person but it's a lovely day out. The sand is black but very soft and water is lovely.

If you’re lucky you may spot a football player or two, as it belongs to the 5 * hotel. There is a photo of Matarazzi there with the staff!

Overall, I didn't enjoy myself. It was a beautiful coastline and a great experience though. I would go again, but in the heart of Sorrento.

" Inside
Definitely not a 3 star... "

Inside
Definitely not a 3 star hotel, the family cannot cope, cleanliness lacking, plumbing lacking, attitude lacking, food lacking.

You are watched like a hawk at breakfast in case you over indulge, not that the fare is worth much, cheap cornflakes that are in a box with a paddle you have to turn to get them out, it takes so long you give up, the same 2 types of jam every day, no selection.

The food at diner time is at best basic, plenty of it, but you wouldn't want extra portions anyway.

Outside
Bring your ear plugs, excessive noise from various sources.
a. Positioned next door to the rail line that rumbles from early morning to well into the early hours.
b. The local church 100 yards away on the other side gives quarter hour bell bursts 24/7 & goes through the full cycle of ' tunes ' at 6am, noon, 6pm & midnight
c. The scrap yard across the street starts very early with all sorts of clatter noises.

Watch the bottle of wine prices in the restaurant, they do make an awful lot of mistakes in the price & change.
