wasn't sure what to expect after reading reviews before i left home, yes the apartments were basic but for an 18-30 hotel, they're fine. Room 302 is probably the best room, my friends got it and it has the best balcony by far! At first i was shocked by the whole shower/wet room thing, but got used to it. Paco was a lovely man but could get quite annoying. Pool is decent and bar was reasonable but all drinks tasted like they were watered down. Location is ok, not to fond of the stony hill that you have to walk up in the dark though! But literally 5 mins gets you into the centre! Overall nice apartments. But not really suitable for disabled people, too many steps. And also our rep wasn't the best, really nice guy untill we didn't want to do all of his activities, so he decided to huff with us the rest of the holiday. Really mature!

Just arrived home from Gumbet today . First impression of UCAK wasn't too good, i thought i was going to hate it. A few hours after arrival you feel at home , bar staff like Paco and Smiley and brilliant and helpfull. Very safe place, also feels like a small community. Would recommend it to others especially those who are booking with 18-30.

me and 2 friends went to gumbet erlier this year august 2009 we left a week early!it was only a 2 star rating and as we were on an 18 to 30s holiday we didnt expect too much bt the apartments were very small and we could barely fit our luggage in there we had cokroaches although we were told they are like spiders in that country and i would advise that you pay for aircon as the apartments are extremely hot and you cannot open the windows due to mosquitos it was the staff that made us want to go home early paco as mentioned below tried to charge my group twice for a bbq we didnt even want to go to and wouldnt leave us alone i would advise you to always lock your door as this man will just walk in when he pleases even when you tell him you are getting changed! his reply was i dont mind i would not advise anyone to stay here because of this man and he should be inspected as he is not fit for the job i did not feel safe once staying here with this man! read all of these reviews and take note of what is said before you go!the reps were of absolutely no help when we wanted to go home and we were left to our own devices to find a way home i will never come back here !!!

ucak apartments are great , its cheap to stay in but check your bill when getting food or drink as they are prone to mistakes , paco is really good crack , they have 24hr bar but complain if u are laughing too much in early hours while sitting round pool , but in general it was cheap , cheerful and enjoyful , we met a really nice bunch of people especially thomas and niamh even though he is mad and can't ride a scooter lol

From what i heard i was dreading it but when i got their it seemed really nice. The bar was 24 hours and the people worked there were a good laugh. Paco was real fun for our first few nights but then got a bit cheeky and grumpy near the end. the other two where fun. the prices are a bit high, 90 leria for air conditioning in 45 degrees in which it should be free during these times was a rip off but it was worth it on them warm nights. also paying for toliet roll is rediculus. the room is basic and clean where up to 4 people can stay. there are two beds and a wardrobe, a kitchen table and chairs and 2 sofas. the pool is really nice it tastes bad but it was really good fun. the food was ok but really there our much better resturaunts when you start walking. i reconmend uncle festors, tempo that all i can remember that where brilliant. there are internet cafes near by which is good bar there in turkish. its a very friendly city and very flirty they will try anything to get you in and never wear a football top!! there because you will get dragged into shops.
back to paco. he is friendly he likes to flirt but sometimes he goes to far and can get real grumpy. he brings his own laptop which is free and he has loads of song which he plays on loudspeaker. a group of us where in the pool playing with a ball i got we where play a lot of games and everybody was laughing even when the got hit with it, and it was real good fun and we where out playing with the staff playing football out of the pool yes it was dangerous but everyone was having a great time. then paco came and said no no ball games outside the pool which everybody got really annoyed at.
thats why i gave it a 6 because the last couple of days was spolit by him. it was fantastic holiday and loved most of my time there extremly friendly. great place for fun more for younger people than older but it was really fun. i went with my mum and we both enjoyed it.
if anyone stayed in the ucak between mon 18th and mon 25th email me so we can talk dc_2k8_afc@hotmail.com or if you want to talk about the ucak send me an email and i can talk to you about it

There are some bad reviews written about the Ucak Apartments (pronounced U-Jack!), however in my opinion considering this is only classed as 2* accomodation, it fitted our purpose very well and by no means was on par with some of the "horror stories" you might be expecting to find having read other reviews on the internet. I believe people visit places at times with some very high expectations of a rated apartment in comparison to a 5* hotel which is evidently not going to be the same!
The rooms were fairly small and very simple however bedrooms had good solid beds, wardrobes, windows which DID open and the option to purchase air conditioning (very reasonable price for a week, especially if sharing with 3/4 of you). Living areas had table and chairs, working kitchen with fridge/freezer, all the kitchen essentials you would need and a clean and simple wetroom style bathroom. Bedding was changed every 2 days even if the sheets hadn't been used and the bin in the toilet was emptied daily and the floor cleaned & washing up done where needed. You are only provided with 1 initial roll of toilet paper however and after that you must provide your own. Overall very liveable for the purpose in hand (i.e storing suitcases and sleeping at night!) however if you are planning on spending all your time at the apartments there is very little to do so be warned & get out on some excusions!
The atmposphere is very friendly and there is a fairly wide mix of people. I went as a large group of 9 girls and whilst there were another couple of holiday groups, there were also older families and a few couples as well. I personally would not recommend this for young families or those with young children however as activity at night can be loud at times as nightlife in the area is more pronounced than in some other areas of turkey. Also there is no entertainment organised by the apartments and families with young children may feel the environment is not suitable for them. There is a degree of security 24hours a day as the small bar remains open all the time and therefore there is always somebody on the main level by the pool which was reassuring. The pool is rather small, however it is cleaned every day at about 4am so is still nice to swim in!
Overall, I had a great time here with my friends and while I am certain that when my budget allows me to extend my level of luxury to a hotel with a higher rating I would definitely do so! However, we had no real problems while staying at Ucak. For a holiday of £180 it was simple and basic but most importantly clean, tidy and very friendly. I wouldn't have any problem with going back again :)

had a great time, apartments basic but as all we wanted was somewhere to sleep it suited us fine. staff very friendly and would do anything to help you, paco was briliant with us, kepy us aamused with his irish jokes. also keep kids happy. and even went and got changed so that the kids could throw him into the pool. dont usually spend much time at the appartments when we go away, but we did at these ones as we where made to feel very very welcome. first time in gumbet, really loved it and will go back again.

Me and two of my mates stayed at UCAK Apartments for a week, we didnt expect to get the service we got baring in mind that we payed under 300 pounds, the rooms were small, the cost for air-con,safe and late chack out was depatable. Packo the guy who run the bar, ive heard and read reviews about him and i dis agree with the comment people had made about him, he is a nice guy, he will nice only if you treat him with respect, we had a laugh now and then.
The 18-30 reps was in nice words rubbish, we hardly saw the reps half the time cause they were chassing yough girls,on one night we was ment to go to a hotel party in which we payed for but due to bad weather it was canceled and in my opinion they should have had a back-up plan for us, cause we payed 265 lira for them to show us a good time. On the other had it was made up during the boat party, in which we were given a free bar, on local drinks.
The apartments were full of friendly people, we made new friends out there, from all over the UK.
All in all i would go back to Turkey BUT not with the 18-30 reps.
