We visited the Hotel More at the end of August. The room was clean, with air conditioning and an LCD television. Our room had a lovely balcony with a fantastic sea view – across to Formentor beach/ Pollensa Port. The bathroom had a bath with shower – plenty of hot water and good pressure – especially useful for washing long hair!
The swimming pool is situated across the road from the hotel, which is not as issue as the road is very quiet! It looked clean and the water is deep, but there is a separate fenced off area for children. The beach next to the hotel was very nice (clear, shallow water) – shared with the Hotel Panoramic next door. We were not permitted to take the sun loungers from the swimming pool onto the beach but the other hotel did allow this - there were loungers on the front facing the sea next to the beach.
The hotel is located about 10/15 minutes walk from the old town of Alcudia and I believe it took us about 40 minutes to walk to Alcudia Port. Both of these are well worth a visit and the walk is quite pleasant. Taxis are easy to use and relatively inexpensive. The hotel will call out taxis. Buses are the cheapest option but they always looked busy! There is a bus in the morning that stops outside the hotel, otherwise they run from the old town. The hotel is also a short walk away from some attractive bays and we enjoyed visting these.
Drinks at the hotel were expensive but this was expected. Bottled water from supermarkets in the old town offered best value, as shops near the hotel were also expensive!
Food at the hotel was buffet style and plenty of choice. We went half board. Typical breakfast options comprised of cereal, fried/boiled/scrambled eggs and bacon. Dinner had various options and always salad/vegetables. I am particularly fussy with food but I always found something to eat. Breakfast times were 8-10am and dinner 7-9pm. It was expected that you cleared away your plates and cutlery – we did not find this to be much of an issue and if the staff passed your table when you had finished your meal they would take your plates. The half board option suited us well as we had big breakfasts and therefore only needed small snacks for lunch.
A few points to mention about the hotel include the fact the Hotel More provides a quiet and peaceful base, if you are looking for loud music/entertainment, Hotel More is probably not for you. The television reception is not brilliant and when it rains English channels go down – this did not bother us as we did not use the television very much but may worry some. The room is cleaned daily and fresh towels are provided. Excursions/trips can be organised through the hotel – we booked a boat trip to Formentor, which provided the opportunity to view some stunning scenery! They also do bicycle hire and arrange car hire.
I looked through the reviews on this website to make an informed decision about Hotel More – there are many positive reviews. I did worry about some of the negative ones but having visited Hotel More I would not hesitate to go back. It provided a relaxing break and the staff were generally very pleasant and helpful.

Stayed a week from august 10th, hotel very clean and staff very friendly. The food was excellant, breakfast as expected, full eng plus lots of croissants, cereals fruit etc. The lunch and dinner menu superb and could not fault anything. The htel is right on a small beach shared with next hotel with french only residents. Ther is no nightlife to speak of which is fine if thats what you are after,we were so knew beforehand it was quite. There is a bar 5 mins away called the Red Rum, a fine bar and thankfully it had sky sports as i do like to watch the footie with a nice cold local beer. The hotel also has sky but was on disney channel until you wrestle the remote off several crying children!. All in all a superb hotel and we would have no hesitation in going back. Dont use the local bus service on a saturday or you may well get stranded as they are overflowing and the drivers pass you by regularly, use a taxi.

Not long back from the above hotel and found it really good.
Air conditioning was good, flat screen tv with UK channels, and brilliant sea views.
The place itself is very quiet with the pool with stunning views and your own beach, 2 small supermarkets at walking distance.
The food was great a different selection each night.
I went here with my 13 year old daughter and I would definatley return.

After a break of 6 years we returned to the Hotel more and found it just as good as ever!
Throughout the years it has been run down for a variety of reasons its location, the food etc and all we can say is "get a life" ..the hotel is excellent and the meals are excellent, yes its location is quiet but then the brochures say so... so please stop moaning about it!..the staff are excellent and the beach and pool are on the doorstep so just chill out and enjoy your holiday! In all you get what you pay for and in this hotel you get value for money! Enjoy!!

More of the More'

Ola...
We absolutely loved our stay at the Hotel More'. The staff were outstanding and more helpful than any of the hotels I have stayed at around the world. All speak English or at worst broken English but communication was never a problem.
If I am honest the decor and style of the hotel is a throw back to the 70's and not everyone's cup of tea but we loved its simplicity and the cleanliness was just outstanding.
My only gripe, if I am aloud one, is that the hotel allows smoking through out. For a pair of none smokers this is not a good thing, I hope that changes for the next visit as we are definitely going back.
The food was delicious and for a small hotel there is a surprising amount of variety, all cooked to a high standard.
We were half board so that meant we had to look for lunch elsewhere. Weekdays the only place within a short walking distance, 200 yards, was the Red Rum restaurant. This again was a great place, very friendly, large screen TV's with Sky TV on them for those missing home and a spectacular view over looking the Port De Pollenca.
There is also another bar called the Delfi Tavern that does light snacks in the evening. It is only open daytimes during the weekend though but brilliant for TV, Bingo, Quiz nights and its managed by two Brits, Jessi and her hubby who are brilliant, a right giggle. They offer loads of advice about trips etc, can even book them for you too.
A short distance away, perhaps 10/15 minutes walk is the gorgeous old town of Alcudia. If you like traditional Spanish with some historical sites thrown in, Roman archeology etc then this is for you.
Plenty of local bars, restaurants, shops too and if you are really feeling fit then another half hours walk takes you into the Port of Alcudia. Very commercial here like the other parts of Mallorca.
From the hotel you can hire bikes, cars, mopeds etc and book all sorts of excursions.
There is a bus to the hotel which goes to the old town about two or three times a day. We walked to the old town and got busses to other parts of the island from there stocking up at the supermarkets with water and basic grub for the journey. Its cheaper that way and drinks are costly in the hotels and bars if your buying for the kids. Fruit is very cheap though and the apples are HUGE ans tasty!!!
The hotel is remote with only one other sharing the beach, which is again gorgeous, and you are welcome to use this more modern hotel for late night entertainment and discos too, if your not keen on the dated stuff going on at the More'. There is a slight cringe factor at the More' and every act seems to be dancing, but fun all the same.
If I were to offer some advice to family's, if your looking for loads to do with the kids then you may want to look elsewhere. If your kids are ok with it being quiet, no entertainment for the little ones, or clubs then great, if not its a hard slog to keep the kids from getting board and most people who go here are here for the peace and tranquility so screaming kids are frowned at as the Mallorquins also use this beach for there down times.
Snorkeling is excellent around here, we saw loads of Octopus and Clams too, the fish are so tame, masses of them, some huge and you can swim with them and feed them if you 'borrow' some bread from the dining hall. So if your a keen swimmer then that's one way to make the time pass by.
There is a load more to say but I guess you got to go and find out for yourself.
ps... if your thinking of learning some Spanish to help you get by on the island like I did then you might be in for a shock as Mallorquin is the first language on the island. I've been coming here since the 70's and never new! So check out Google for some handy phrases...

This is our second visit to hotel more and again we had a great time. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels. You make your holiday what you want,if you want it lively then you can go to town to the clubs and bars. Some of us however like to sleep when we go to bed and the hotel was quite apart from one night but this holiday maker was asked to keep the noise down. The red rum is a short walk away and stays open late. The kids enjoyed the bingo and even won as there was no age limit on it. My kids met other kids and had a great time, they entertained themselves with pool, table tennis, swimming ,fishing and netting, 5 on a multi bike races, football and tag. The shop is a short walk away along the sea front. A nice quite relaxing holiday, and i hope it stays that way and the all nighters find somewhere more suitable and then there wont be the negative comments on here putting people off. The food was lovely and the reception staff verry helpful so go ,dont be put off.

we have just come back from a brilliant week at the Hotel More.
We were a party of 5 with 2 teenage boys and a 6 year old boy - we all had a brilliant time.
the Hotel was absolutely spotless and had a ping pong table / pool table and large tv showing english cartoons ( or football - whatever people wanted ) The weather was very hot - 40 ' ish every day so the tv in the bar was brilliant for the little one to get out of the sun.
Because of the Euro - it was 2.30 for a coke in the bar but it you use the vending machine directly outside it was only 1.30 euro - we found out on 3rd day after already buying about 25 cokes !!
The beach is uncrowded and whole resort is very safe.
The Golfi pub was where the older boys went most nights and really had a good time - we went once and rest of time went to red rum where youngest son spent time catching crabs with his net and bucket while we enjoyed a relaxing beer!!
It was our first time but have all agreed we want to go again and am looking now for booking next year.
If you get the weather you will really enjoy this holiday.

I'd read the reviews on here before coming and was a little bit apprehensive after some of the comments, however, the worrying was for nothing!
We arrived at 8:50pm, and the reception staff (English) were very helpful, and told us to go straight for dinner and we could check in properly later so we didn't miss dinner. So it was off to a good helpful start!
The food was ok, we were there with a 7 year old and there was always something she could eat, not a huge amount of choice, but what there was was good.
The rooms were very very clean, as was the whole hotel to be honest. The cleaners seemed to work from breakfast time to dinner time, they kept the place spotless.
The pool was great. Loungers and umbrellas all round it, so you could easily sit beside it while the kids went for a swim. The beach was just a 2 minute walk too, and it seemed to be kept very clean, no rubbish about at all.
To get to the old town was a 4euro taxi ride from the hotel, which when you have at least 2 people travelling is really cheap. And to get to the bigger and busier Port Alcudia was only about 6 euros. There were lots of taxis so once you were at the rank you didn't need to wait long at all.
The evening entertainmet was great for kids, not so good for adults mind you, but I'm sure there are lots of other things you could do in Port Alcudia in the evening if you didn't fancy the entertainment.
On the whole the hotel is great for a quiet family holiday, it was a very safe and you didn't worry about needing to keep your kids right beside you all the time. While there was no kids club, there were plenty of families about and all the kids played together quite happily.
If you're looking for a lively, drinking holiday then this probably isn't for you, but if you want something a bit quieter and more relaxing then I can't recommend this hotel enough!

A beautiful , restful place to go. The staff at reception were first rate. Great place to explore from, I hired a bike and found many interesting routes. Room was cleaned every day. Just 15 mins to walk to wonderful old town. Porta Pollenca and Porta Alcudia were easily accessed by bus from old town. The buffet service was excellent, plentiful and well presented. I suspect that anyone who complains is someone who wants to have their kids looked after so that they can laze around.

Just returned from a fantastic 2 week holiday at the More, with my partner,17 yr old son, my 20 yr old son and his girlfriend, yet agan we had a lovely time at the More, the food as always was excellent along with the standard of the rooms and the location.
This is where you go for a holiday, the beach is less than 5 min walk from the hotel, perfect.
I would suggest a car, as there are sites that sould be seen , Pine Walk, battle in old Pollensa and many more, and for the cost far better value than taxis, although there is a regular bus service from the hotel.
