Nightmare, illegal activities abound
from KatelynL
This was the worst travel experience I have had. We arrived to the Hotel Renoir with a confirmed booking and were told that our hotel was down the street (at a hotel UNAFFILIATED with either of the Renoir Hotels). When I confronted the concierge with the paper booking he continued to tell me the hotel was down the street and that there were no rooms left in the Renoir. Then he stated that he didn't have our booking (for which we had already paid a fee) and pretended to flip through a pile of bookings when my own name caught the corner...

so so put perfect for a city break
from A TripAdvisor Member
My boyfriend and I stayed here for the long weekend in May. We booked it through last minute because it was so close to everything (its like being in London's Zone 1) we found it really easily using the metro and it really was perfect for seeing the city. Ye steh rooms are small and the breakfast is basic but the staff were friendly and really what on earth are you doing spending your whole time in the hotel - YOU'RE IN PARIS!!! But in a city notorious for its shocking hotels this one wasn't so bad esp at the price we paid - it was a...

Not so bad
from A TripAdvisor Member
I think this hotel is getting a slightly unfair drubbing! Stayed here for 3 nights just before Easter while visiting family. It's definitely not chic, or glamorous, or luxurious, but considering how cheap it was you really can't complain. Yes, the rooms are small, but show me a low price hotel in Paris that DOESN'T have small rooms! Had a lovely clean bathroom and excellent maid service, and as for noise - we were on the ground floor and couldnt hear a thing! As for the NJ woman who compalined about being fined - DON'T bring in...

Not bad for the $$
from MandyKevin
When we stayed here, we were on the 2nd floor, which we had to walk up to through a tiny staircase. Our room was very small but clean. The shower was a small stand up shower. However, the hotel was on a nice little street with a lot of restaurants and pubs and was very close to the Edgar Quinet Metro station. The metro is very easy to use and allows you access to all the major attractions. Whenever you leave the hotel you have to leave your key at the front desk, which we not told about beforehand, and then informed of on the second...

Waste of 500 Euros
from NYCHoya
This hotel is really really tacky and the biggest rip off out there. First, the downstairs area reception is tiny, and there is nowhere to sit or do anything. You have to walk up a tiny stairwell to get to your room which is possibly the size of a shoebox, give or a take an inch or two. The bathroom shower was so small that I couldnt even bend over to shave my legs, there was also no cold water, so I almost scolded myself. It was loud while I slept and I really would have been happier at a Howard Johnsons or Motel 6. To make matters...

Worst hotel in the world
from Dirck
I wrote a long story about my nightmare stay at this hotel and unfortunately my computer got tilt and lost the data. My conclusion was: DONT STAY AT THE RENOIR. Filty and awful rooms, but most than anything rude and helpless staf (in particular the night guy). It is the worst hotel I ve ever stayed, and I wouldnt return not even for free. All other postings about this hotel are totally true and my personal experience says that it s even worst than what they describe. The staff is ready to cheat you whenever they can, from making...

Very nice hotel!

The hotel is in a really wonderful area, I really enjoyed the restaurant and cafes of the Montparnasse area. The hotel himself was confartable and clean, the personnel friendly! Everything was fine, I really want to go back to that hotel!
Awful Awful Awful
from A TripAdvisor Member
Even getting two nights for free couldn't make us stay here. The staff were rude, the hotel crummy, the room tiny (you couldn't swing a kitten, and I know Parisian hotels are pushed for space but this was takinig the p***), the bathroom like something out of a timewarp - very 1970s and in need of a good scrub. In fact I would bulldozer the whole place. The worst thing was that the metro trains rumble underneath the hotel almost continuously - the only break you get is when they stop at the station. I had an awful, sleepless night, and...

Dont go to this hotel
from Kennedy001
I booked this hotel for four nights recently. On arrival we got a very curt reception. The rooms smelt of smoke and were extremely small. The bathroom was filthy dirty. We were unable to sleep because of the noise. In the morning we asked for internet access and were told this would cost €12 euro per hour (very expensive by any standard). I then asked for a telephone number in Paris and was told they they would not look for it and it would only be available if I came to the reception. After much consternation at the reception the only...

Nothing to Rave About
from PoblanoJ
They seem to do a huge internet business. Mostly foreign tourists. Pros: Small TV with cable was nice. Location is ideal. A block from metro. There are phones and mini-bars in the rooms. Cons: I question the 3-star rating. Small room with peeling wallpaper and a one-star bed (two lumpy twin beds pushed together, and made with full-size sheets and blanket that held the hairs of previous guests.) Bathroom was not particularly clean. Room was not ready for me when promised. The "concierge" was irritable -- arguing...

MY PROPERT DISAPPEARED AND THEY DID NOTHING!!! I had some money mysteriously disappear from my room. When I reported the incident, not only did they do absolutely nothing about it, they basically said it was my fault and treated me in the most insulting and humiliating way... more
