Casablanca Beach Resort Reviews

Good Hotel deserves higher than the 2* rating. The staircases and loud blue doors should not put you off as the rooms, once inside, are large bright and airy. Bathroom excellent, plenty of hot water and a shower curtain that prevents the usual flooding! Beds are firm (as... more

Wonderful stay
from arthur_malcom
This was my second time in Casablanca, and once again has always been above standards with cleanliness. The always helpful staff and lovely position next to the beach made my holiday once again!. I will surely be back!!

what a wonderfull place goa is and to find this little jem made our holiday . Found it 5 years ago and have been back 7 times since. Will be back there in Nov to injoy it once again .
excellent location, next to the beach and just off the main road

Excellent location, the hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. I agree with the reveiws already posted. I would add that the pool is clean, the safe deposit lockers are manned 24x7 and the hotel offers a better currency exchange rate then the high street.
Just average

We stayed at the Casablanca Hotel for a few nights recently. The Hotel is basic, clean with efficient and friendly staff. We also stayed at The Melodious Waves Hotel at the end of our holiday and found this Hotel to be better - Hotel is quite new and rooms are more pleasant. It is also Half the price of the Casablanca Hotel.
Nice stay at the Casa blanca, Candolim, Goa.

Just back from Candolim, Goa. Stayed at the Casablanca Hotel. Very good, basic but very clean and friendly helpful staff. Had to call a doctor out for my partner as he was quite ill and they where very helpful. Had interesting designs made with our clean towels on our bed everyday, my favourites being the boat and palm tree and the elephant. The only downfall is that i would recommend that when paying for your restaurant bills you do it there and then and don't have it charged to your room as we paid up the night before we where due to leave but as we checked out the next day they told us we hadn't paid and had to pay another 160 rupees which isn't much but it's the principle of it, apparently this happened to a lot of people who stayed here. Also someone had their mobile phone stolen from there room but we payed extra for a security box which is in reception which you buy a padlock for. We would stay there again but but in future will pay as we go and keep all receipts. Also beware of the Airport, DO NOT get your money changed there when you arrive as they rip you off, you can get it changed at the Hotel or better still at the Elephant Shop in Candolim which we did and you get the exact rate. Most of the shops are open til midnight. We did have a great time tho.
The best hotel in Goa
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed here 3 years ago and this hotel is still excellent. The rooms are spotless and regularly cleaned. Staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. It's just off the main road and close to the life in Candolim but very quiet in the evenings. Also only a short walk to the beach. I visited other hotels in Goa and this is the best bar none...even the (supposedly) more upmarket ones. Clean and well looked after pool. I agree with another review that it's definitely worth more than it's two stars. Also for proper Indian / Goan food try The Mango Grove in Candolim or the excellent vege restaurant "The Plantain Leaf" in Calungute. Also recommend diving at Goa Dive Centre based in Baga.
Lovely Hotel, fantastic location....

Good Hotel deserves higher than the 2* rating. The staircases and loud blue doors should not put you off as the rooms, once inside, are large bright and airy. Bathroom excellent, plenty of hot water and a shower curtain that prevents the usual flooding! Beds are firm (as it seems is the norm in India); linen changed daily and good standard of cleanliness throughout. We did not have air conditioning but this is available at an additional cost. We preferred to use the ceiling fans which were adequate and less noisy than most AC. We only used the dining/bar facility for breakfast but the food and service proved to be above average. Continental breakfast included and full menu available at a small additional charge. The pool is cleaned daily and set in pretty gardens. There are a couple of stalls and taxis right outside the Hotel. Casablanca Hotel is set away from the main road, in a quiet location close to the Sea, only a couple on minutes walk away. There are plenty of good eating places close by on the main road. I would recommend this Hotel.
Still a great Hotel

Once again l write about this hotel , but what can l say ? have stayed here twice since l last wrote to you about it xmas 04/05 then again march 05, nothings changed it is still a very good hotel , clean and tidy great location for the beach and all the restuarants are nearby ,l recommend Arabian Nights ( great fish in beer batter & chips + a whole range of lndian / Goan dishes and other continental dishes ) if you go there tell them the " prat in the hat " sent you l may get a discount when l'm next in there ( though l wont hold my breath ) great european band "the Rain Dogs " live on sat nights , another great restaurant is the "Mermaid" top of road turn right 50 mtrs approx on rhs down by whispering palms great for steaks the best in town , best to book table in advance, back to the hotel as l said nothings changed still got those horrible locks but as the last 2 times l'v been l'v been on my on so no problem but next time l'v promised to take my partner so have had to look for another hotel ( which l found ) going back to Goa for xmas & new year 2005/06 will send you a report on a different hotel ( l shant reveal the name of it just yet , but l hear it is good ) dont forget to try Nino's Nook :)
great hotel,

stayed at the casablanca last jan 2004 for 3 weeks , staff very friendly, helpful ,rooms regularily cleaned, only downside was the padlocks on doors by which l mean if your a couple and one of you wants to go to bed early then you have to wake ya partner up to get in if he/she has locked door from inside, great location 4 the beach and restaurants, some entertainment laid on , bbq once a week food out of ten l'd give it 6 but plenty of very good reastaurants nearby . p.s take ya own padlock if your gonna use the hotel safes.

Visited this hotel the first year it was built and have now been back 3 times and have recommeded it to others who have visited the golden beaches of India. The Casablanca is spotlessly clean with "suite" style rooms which are large and airy and the room cleaners always leave pretty pictures on the bed made out of the clean towels!! The service is good and the staff are always cheerful and chatty and eager to help you enjoy your holiday to the full.

It was a good experience being in this place. It was very near the beach, just 5 mins away. So we could enjoy after dinner strolls at the beach. The staff was gud and the rooms were kept clean inspite of the loads of sand we brought with our shoes. Overall a memorable experience.
