Elysees Union Hotel

I chose this hotel after reading the other reviews on Tripadvisor, mainly because of the location of the hotel. The hotel is very easy to get to from CDG airport on the train as the métro stop Boissiere is just around the corner. It is very easy to walk from the hotel to Trocadéro and the Arc de Triomphe, each being about 10 minutes leisurely walk away. We enjoyed our first visit to France and to Paris! The Hotel Elysees Union was a very nice, clean, and centrally located. Only 6 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe, 12- 15 minutes to the Eiffel Tower, and within 1-2 blocks of 2 metro stops. Travelling around Paris on the Metro is the ONLY way to go! Reasonably priced and very effecient. In this hotel the rooms are not luxurious, but certainly adequate for the time we spent in the room. first of, the location in the 16th is great. extremely convenient to two metro stations (kleber and boisserie). very walkable to trocadero square, arc, and champ elysees. great local restaurants favored by local parisians. avoid breakfast at the hotel...extremely overpriced. bed is rock-hard which was quite uncomfortable. overnight front desk person is extremely rude but everyone else was great and friendly. difficult to shower with half a bath door that is not sealed well (flooded bathroom EVERY morning).

One thing was certain, the staff was exceptionally nice. The rooms desperately need updating (bathroom not bad though) but the view of the Eiffel Tower from our room was worth it. My Mom, Sister, and I stayed in a triple room which was actually a king bed with a roller bed next to it. Our A/C did not work. It was a little hot the first night in the room being on the sixth floor and 83 degrees that day but it was tolerable since we got a nice breeze leaving the window open that night. This is a fine hotel for the price a great location and the service staff should be the envy of every other hotel in Paris. The building needs to be updated and while we were there they appeared to be in the process of doing it. The shops and restaurants around the hotel were pleasant and filled all of our needs and then some. I could not recommend this hotel enough for a realatively moderately priced hotel.

We loved the view from our room of the Eiffel Tower. The neighborhood was lovely and busy and interesting to us at all hours of the day and night. We found the location perfect for our needs- very close to a metro stop, walking distance to the Seine, adorable cafes at the Trocadero Circle. The room was pleasant and perfectly clean. My family stayed at this hotel for 3 days based on reviews on this site. The GOOD.... pleasant staff that spoke English and Spanish. Quiet safe area, beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower from room. Breakfast was good (same you get at most other European hotels of same catagory). Small market next door. Metro station very close by. Good sized room for France, nice bathroom. I just came back from a stay at this hotel which I booked mostly because of the reviews from the website, but when I got there I was shocked and very disappointed with the hotel and reviews. Most of the times reviewers are dead on with their reviews but the reviews about this hotel are very misleading and I strongly disagree with them. Stayed at The Elysees Union for three nights in July and have nothing negative to say about it. The hotel is clean, staff extremely friendly and location superb. Cannot beat it for the price. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

My husband and I with our 7 year old stayed in a triple room with a courtyard view. Not a big room, but big enough with a closet in Bathroom for clothes. The daily housekeeping was excellent, and the front desk people spoke excellent Engish and were extremely polite and friendly. We ate breakfast in the downstairs area, but it was 10 Euros and while very nice, you can do much better at the nearby Patisserie on Klieber, and if you sleep in, the same place has the best sandwiches and salads!
