I stayed in the Comfort Hotel Bastille for the weekend in June 2004 and it was very good. For the price it was clean and modern(some in the same price bracket I have stayed in have been terrible) and the staff were very helpful indeed. It has the usual tiny lift which feels like a death trap, but works, and our room had a bath and a shower which were clean and had hot water(also not as standard in parisian hotels as you would think).
