The Best Little Hotel In the World
Three young girls wanting a fairly realxing holiday happened to chance upon the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Billy, Barbara and his family made us incredibly welcome, Yiannis (the barman) was always cheeky, lively and full of fun. Billy, the hotel owner, is full of magic tricks, stories and has time for every single guest- sorry FRIEND as he calls them. You are made to feel you are a guest in their home, and we actually cried when we had to leave! We were so amazed with the hospitality we have booked already for 4 months later. The hotel was immaculately clean, the pool was lovely, and Scala is only 20 mins by foot. All the locals know the owners of this hotel, so you are taken care of wherever you go! Nothing is too much trouble for this lovely family. We challenge anyone not to want to return again and again to this strictly unique hotel/ home from home. Carly, Kelly and Vikki - Southend (Essex)

This year will be our 3rd year in a row at The Pelagos Bay, my husband and I have travelled all over the world, but you will never get such a lovely welcome and stay as here. It is truly home from home, relaxed, friendly people, beautfiul location and wonderful island. So cannot wait untli July 07 for our return cu soon Barbara, Billy and Vasoula The Lanes

we have stayed with billy, barbara and their family since 2001 the opening year of this very warm and friendly hotel,.you are made so welcome. which makes you want to return year after year. we have made many friends, in six years the service has remained the same 1st class.the resort of scala has plently to keep you occupied but with greek flavour, that means no british pubs (hurray).the walk into scala is lovely you can take in the sea breeze and slendid view of this pretty island, but be warned once bitten you will probably want to return time and time again,as we have.so what are you waiting for go and book it see you there. shelly and rob murphy. nuneaton warwickshire.
Good clean hotel, with lovely sea views.
Our only problem was the many steps to the room on the second floor.no lifts and probably better suited to younger or fitter people than us. That did not stop us enjoying a lovely week ,our first, to kefalonia and will return next year. we liked skala but prefered the beach at Kaminia so have booked to stay there . the hotel staff were very fiendly and always gave us a warm welcome when we returned from our travels each day.the breakfast was ok but a little choice on the cereals would improve it .decor and beds and little touches to make it more like home were welcome.tea and coffee making and fridge nice change for Greece and aircon included.car hire really helps if you stay here. Yammas to all the staff.well done.
Absoluty Fantastic

Could not find a single fault with it |Accomodation, Food , Service, Everything. So thanks Again and promise to come bak to see you next year Billy,Yammas,Vasolla
Very relaxing family holiday
Just back from a very very enjoyable and relaxing week at the Pelagos Bay. The owner, Billy, and all the staff will impress you with their friendliness and keeness to make your stay enjoyable. The place couldn't be faulted in terms of the cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms and the public areas. Whilst the breakfast provided is basic, it can be suplemented by some lovely options (pancakes & syrup, feshly squeezed orange juice, bacon etc) at a relatively modest cost. The snack bar which opens until 16:30 also provides some very tasty dishes. With a beautiful large pool, no competition for loungers, a convenient private cove and, for us, the company of some lovely people (adults & children) we had a very enjoyable and relaxing break. In the rare times our six year old daughter was wasn't playing contentedly in the pool or with other children she loved playing with all the animals there (cat, dog, tortoises etc). The hotel's quiet location 2 km from Skala is no inconvenience as the 20 minute walk in is quite pleasant. Any complaints you read on other sites about the noise from the bar must be made by those with the hearing of a bat, as with the a/c on and your patio doors (obviously) closed there is no intrusion.
Dont be silly stay with Billy
We have just had the best holiday of our lives at the Pelagos Bay in skala, kefalonia Billy his staff and his family are very possibly unique in their friendliness, kindness and ability to make you feel at home relaxed and above all happy. The rooms and all areas are spotlesslly clean the added little touches that Barbara, billys wife puts in is welcoming, the food is homemade reasonable and scrumptious. We are in our well, late fifties but not old codgers there was no discos or kfc or Mcdonalds no english bars no lager louts just pure Greek people and their lives. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful as well. I could go on and on about this resort I have come home and I really miss it , really miss it. You must go to Billys BBQ on an empty stomach because i have never seen so much food brought to your table by the family. We had a wedding anniversary whilst we were out there and it cropped up in conversation, when we came back after a day out there was flowers, a card two champangne flutes and a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket in our room. You don't get that everywhere. Well, no where we've been before. But it will happen again because we are in the process of booking our next holiday . See you there!!!!!Lin and Robin Freestone YAMMAASS
Very friendly, Very clean
All the reviews we have read have said much the same thing about this hotel and can be summed up thus: Very friendly staff - true they are brilliant Very clean - true it is spotless Pricey and small drinks - well not really ... 0,4l of beer (instead of the usual 0,5) and if you choose to spend a night at the bar you'll find that you are supplied with lots of free shots - it works out a lot cheaper than a night out in the UK (especially if you are from down south) About 20min walk from town, we walked there and back every night and didn’t find it a problem. The view, the fact that it has its own small bay (good for schnorkeling) and the occasional sight of sheep/goat herds (complete with bells!) wandering around more than makes up for the distance from town. The food is “real” – fresh and home cooked. We thought it was cheep and for what you are getting excellent value for money. This is a really nice hotel with truly wonderful staff. Put it like this ... when we came to leave my wife actually cried.
Amazing Holiday
We arrived at the hotel not quite knowing what to expect as the reviews we had seen had been mixed. Even at first glance we knew we were not going to be disappointed. The view from the hotel out over Pelagos Bay and the sea is stunning and the majority of the rooms seemed to have both a pool and sea view. Everywhere in the hotel was spotless and the shower in the room had a proper glass surround (we'd never even had a shower curtain before in Greece!) which was a relief. The room had air conditioning so was never too hot and we slept well in our comfortable beds. Breakfast was just toast and cereal but we tended not to be up for this anyway. There was plenty of choice at the snack bar although food and drink were expensive and this was probably the downside of the hotel. Scala was around a 15 minute walk away - easier to do in the evening when it cooled off - but you need to get a taxi back up the hill as it is pitch black at night - this only cost 4 euros. The staff at the hotel were brilliant and nothing too much trouble. BBQ night is definitely not to be missed - but be prepared to end up in the pool! If you are looking for a luxury break with all mod cons in the heart of the action this hotel is probably not for you. If you want somewhere clean and comfortable with a happy relaxed atmosphere then this is your hotel.
Clean and friendly
Friendly family run this hotel - very very clean and tidy, only let down is the breakfast. Awful even for Greece. It's also quite a way out of Skala, but as we had a hire car that was fine anyway. Relaxing.
