This hotel is minutes away from the Eiffel Tower and next door to the Paris Hilton hotel.
The reception by the staff was efficient but not especially friendly - perhaps my being English was rubbing salt into the wound! (We were there just days after the French lost their bid to host the Olympic Games). The room (twin) was not spacious but was satisfactory. There was not an abundance of extras - no tea-making facilities for example.
The bathroom was fine but no face-cloths or bathrobes are provided. There was a hook missing off the wall in the bathroom - in itself not a problem but it looked shabby. The cleanliness overall was of a high standard.
The breakfast was superb - as much as one wanted and every taste catered for. The hotel’s situation is central and there are possibly rooms with a view of the Eiffel Tower although we were at the rear overlooking office blocks. As a base for exploring Paris it is very good.

Paris was beautiful, I had an excellent time. Our hotel was right near the Eiffel Tower and as you came out of the main hotel entrance the view was amazing.
We stayed for 3 nights in the Mercure Suffren, and overall the hotel/room was clean, the room was a little small but had everything we needed. The breakfast was a little disappointing, as although it was available until 10am on weekdays and 10.30 am weekends, if you arrived at 9.45 or 10.15 you wouldn’t find much food left.
The staff were helpful and there was a nice bar with outside seating which was enjoyable.
Paris itself was remarkable, we didn’t get to see everything but what we did see will remain a lasting memory.
We travelled First Class on the Eurostar to and from Paris and this made the trip more enjoyable. We missed our train on the return journey due to traffic and the Metro and the staff at Gare du Nord kindly put us on the next train, free of charge, which I was very impressed with.
Overall a very enjoyable city break.
