Omm Hotel

Certainly if you want to be at the cutting edge of Barcelona - this is the place to be. A very stylish building and in a good location - close to major shops and attractions. My room was simple and elegant - the bathroom was amazing - oversized and Kiehls products. The hotel has a great Lounge/Bar (which is buzzing and definately the place to be after 11pm) and although I did not manage to enjoy the restaurant - with Michelin awards, the reputation is very high. We just spent a week at the Hotel Omm and it was a very comfortable home away from home for us. Close to great shopping and an easy walk to everything. Our room included a king-sized bed -- a rarity in European hotels, and was a high-tech wonder. The staff was helpful -- gave us some great restaurant tips including Cal Pep in Placa de Olles and Santa Maria on Comerc. Great food -- but you have to be bold! Also strongly recommend the Fat Tires bicycle tour -- a fun and unique way to see the city.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for four nights during our honeymoon to four Spanish cities and this was by far our favorite hotel. This is a very cool hotel located in one of the best areas of Barcelona. We stayed in a suite overlooking Paseig de Gracia and loved it. This is not a place for older couples or kids. The bar, restaurants and club are among the hippest in Barcelona. We arrived on a thursday night and were greeted by a line of Ferraris, SLR's, Bentleys,etc. at the valet. We booked at the Hotel Omm (Barcelona) through Splendia (a website which proposes many great luxury and design hotels). We decided to book the Omm Hotel because of the location and the design which looked nice. When we arrived to the hotel, we were not disappointed at all... but just the contrary. We just came back from Omm hotel in Barcelona and we are quite disappointed. The only good thing is "design". The staff don´t look at your eyes at all!!I work also in hospitality and please, where is the smile?? They called us at 12.10 with the following question: "Hi, we would like to know what time are you leaving the hotel???" with an almost offensive tone. The people working at the Hotel Oom are unbelievably obnoxious! We stayed there for five nights the first week in May, 2007 for 375 Euros a night. They were so rude, that it was almost funny. For what we paid, we were extremely disappointed and would definitely not recommend this hotel. No doubt the location is excellent and the place itself looks hip. We have just returned from 2 nights at the Hotel Omm (we had booked in for 3) and with such a great choice in Barcelona, we really feel that it is a hotel to be avoided at all costs. It is very pretentious - and possibly could be considered 'cool' by some - but it cannot deliver on the basics that you expect from a hotel (like a window in your bedroom!). The hotel is a hang out for cool young people. The staff is rude and unhelpful. The breakfast is aself service buffet and you have to use dirty tables theat the staff does not bother to clean between one customer and the other. Our window handle was faulty and we were not able to close it. I took a bath but the bath tub was not cleaned the day after. Overall dirty and unpleasant, though very expensive.

Delicious. Right through from the super helpful front desk , the spa ,to my designer bedroom with projector t.v. the Omm has it going on. My wife and i went with friends for my 40th and could not have picked a finer base from which to explore the city. Our day began with a very trendy ,yet delicious,breakfast buffet and our afternoons ended with champagne ,canapes and a dip into the plunge pool on the roof deck.The fun here continues into the evening.
