The Hotetur Bahia Flamingo is 40 Km from the airport and 30 Km from Playa de las Americas, situated on the south west of the island, a place full of contrast, between the sea and the mountains, tropical and desert-like. The club is just 2 Km. From the place of natural beauty, Los Gigantes (the Giants), an incredible view of cliffs. Situated right by the sea in the heart of a small spa, Playa de la Arena. You will appreciate one of the few beautiful natural black sandy beaches just 400m. from the club.

It was a nice hotel spotless, food was very nice but the swimming pool was cold. Not alot to do for the kids but it didn't really matter because the weather was nice and we were around the pool every day. Some staff could be a bit more friendly.

we stayed at the bahia flamingo in july & because it was a late booking we did't know what to expect especially when we read some of the reviews(some good, some bad)but i have to say it was a lovely hotel with lovely staff.the food was not bad but sometimes a bit cold( depending on which hot plate it came out of)full breakfast real english sausage/cereals/toaster (that worked)at lunch & dinner there were always plenty of salad & plenty of ice cream for the kids every mealtimes sometimes 4/5 flavors.always chips/pasta & usually 2/3 fish or meat dishes.the snacks were ok but they were very repetative, the rooms especially the family rooms were brill plenty big enough with a separate bedroom for us.the rooms had all just been refurbished,we had new towels which were changed every day & the room was cleaned every day.we had ceiling fans which worked in the bed room but on slow moving in thekids room, but we thought they were ok.the pool was clean & there were always plenty of sunbeds.it had only been reopened for 4 wks after being taken over & although the staff were the same the management wasn't.they have pool table & table football, the also have a number of kids machines with toys/bouncy balls etc.all of which cost 1 euro.so even if your all inclusive you still pay for these.apart from that there is no entertainment at all so even though its nice during the day did get a bit boring at night,we were alright cos our kids are under 7 so they were ready for bed at 10.30,but the bar shut at 11 sometimes a bit sooner if there wern't alot round it.another downside was they served all drinks in coca cola paper cups even at night, only time we got a glass was in the dining room,so if you didt drink your drink swiftly it started to leak!it is in a quiet area only a couple of bars a short walk away & we were told we could use the other hotels at night as they had entertainment but the drinks were pricey!not a lot of gift shops half dozon or so couple of supermarkets.we would go back but proberly hire a car at the airport.it cost us 53 euros from the airport to the hotel which we didt think was to bad but on the way back the hotel rang a taxi for us & it only cost us 42 euros.we had a very enjoyable holiday at this hotel it was just a pity there was no entertainment at night just a bit of background music.but we made lots of new friends & made the most of it.we came back rested as we proberly went to bed earlier there than at home.so if your a party animal dont bother going to this part.it is quite a walk into los gigantes which has more nightlife.the tennis courts & volley ball courts were out of bounds when we were there think they were doing them up.

Me and my partner went here for a week away for my birthday. we wanted a week relaxing somewhere with guaranteed sun and a nice hotel and thats what we got.

we went all inclusive and definately got our moneys worth. the food was abit repetative but was eatable, the bar was open from 10 and their wasnt a limit on how many drinks you could get at any 1 time like other places we've been to.

The staff were very friendly and we joined in with some of the entertainment activities. The rooms were cleaned everyday apart from sundays and were big enough for the 2 of us with a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom. We had a lovely view over looking the pool and the sea.

It is a quiet hotel and a quiet town but if you want a relaxing place this is the place to go.

The only problem we had was the transfer on the way back to the airport, our flight was in the afternoon and was told that we would be picked up from the hotel at 8.15am which was alot earlier then other people on our flight, at 7.40 the reception called our room to say it was waiting and if we werent downstairs in 5 mins it would leave, which we had to rush about to make it. we made the transfer which left us waiting in the airport for over 5 hours which is not the hotels fault but the operators fault which i will be taking it up.

MEN AND MY WIFE WENT FOR 5 DAYS - THE HOTEL WAS FAR , IT WAS GOOD WE HAD HIRED A CAR - THE ROOMS WERE CLEANED DAILY EXCEPT ON SUNDAY. WE DID NOT GET A GOOD ROOM ,NO DOUBLE BED AND ROOM WAS NEAR THE GENERATOR , LOT OF NOISE AT NIGHT- THE FOOD WAS NOT GOOD - ALWAYS SAME THING . THE STAFF WERE NOT FRIENDLY.NO NIGHT LIFE THAT AREA, IT WAS LIKE DEAD AREA . I WOULD RECOMEND ANY VISITOR NOT TO GO TO THAT AREA - GO TO PLAYA LAS AMERICA - RATHER PAY LITTLE MORE MONEY FOR YOUR HOLIDAY . THERE IS NO BEACH IN THAT AREA , YES THERE IS GOOD SIGHT SEEING OF MOUNTAINS .

MY HUSBAND AND I WANTED A SHORT BREAK SO WE CAME TO THIS BAHIA FLAMINGO HOTEL. THE ROOM WAS VERY DIRTY WITH DUST AND HAIRS ON FLOOR, NO DOUBLE BED!! WE HAD TWO SINGLE BEDS WHICH WERE QUITE SMALL FOR A 5.4" PERSON. OUR ROOM WAS NEXT TO A BIG GENERATOR SO IT MADE NOISE WHOLE NIGHT!!. COMPLAINED TO THE RECEPTION WHO WERE QUITE RUDE AND IGNORANT. WE WERE TOLD THEY WILL CHANGE OUR ROOM IN THE MORNING AND THEY DID'NT!! . THE FOOD WAS SAME EVERY TWO DAYS AND THE PUDDINGS WERE SAME EVERYDAY!! THE DESERT SPOONS WERE PLASTIC!!! THE FRUIT JUICE DURING BREAKFAST WAS LEFT OVERS, THE ONLY THING FRESH IN THE HOTEL WAS THE TOWELS!! . THE SHOW IN THE EVE WAS LIKE BEING IN AN OLD PEOPLES DAY CENTRE!!. WE HIRED A CAR SO IT WAS VERY GOOD TO GET AWAY FROM THE HOTEL EARLY MORNING AND BACK VERY LATE. THE HOTEL IS HORRIBLE AND VERY VERY BORING AND ROOMS LIKE PRISONS!!! WE WERE GLAD TO GET OUT OF THIS. NEVER BOOK ROOM NO 221 WHICH IS THE ONE NEXT TO THE GENERATOR AND VERY NOISY!! OH ALSO YOU HEAR NOISES COMING FROM DOWNSATIRS WITH TROLLEYS AND PLATES MOVING AT 6AM!!! KITCHEN BELOW THE ROOM 221.

BATHROOM SMALL WITH BOILER IN THE THERE!! NEVER GOING BACK TO BAHIA FLAMINGO, THE WORST HOTEL WITH VERY UNFRIENDLY STAFF IN TENERIFE!!!

If you want to stay in a hotel that is a little tired, be served by a barman with love bites on his neck who calls you mate, deal with occasionally surly and unhelpful reception staff, have the previous room occupants hair and fluff stored under the bed, sleep? on a plastic covered matress, be presented with mediocre, repetitive food in the restaurant, then this is the place for you, but, it does have nice views.

We had a great Christmas here. The views are spectacular to the mountains and sea. Our room was very big and cleaned daily with clean towels and sheets. The food was very good (no snacks though). The entertainment wasn't up to much but the holiday was very relaxing. The Christmas meal was excellent. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.

If your looking for a budget hotel with entertainment laid on for those who have the intelligence of a donkey then this is the hotel for you!!!

Basic rooms, very clean I may add. Water tank in the bathroom and once it's gone it's gone for at least 4 hours so do not attempt a bath!

Fans that wobble and wired through the light sockets, make sure also that you are up at the crack of dawn to reserve your sunbed! Early for breakfast before the food runs out and it's not replenished. Tables are not made up and hunt the cutlery begins!

Resort is quiet do not go here if you are looking for a lively holiday and definitely stay clear if you are a shopper!

Los Gigantes is worth a visit but if you have walking difficulties then think twice as it is very hilly.

One comment...........never again!!!

I don't know if I stayed in a different hotel to the rest of the people who have wrote reviews because I found the overall experience one I wouldn't want to repeat, I am just happy the beach was nice and the weather good!

Fantastic hotel, rooms very clean, cleaned 6 out of 7 days. Entertainment in the hotel is wide, plenty for kids to do in the day from archery, shooting, bowls.

Close to bars and shops, a holiday at this hotel would suit couples and families.

Me and my wife visited this hotel over the October half term and expected it to be busy which it was but not only with English, at the time of our visit the hotel had Spanish, German, French and even Russian. We had read the comments from others and thought have we done the right thing and I'm glad to say YES we did, it was a nice holiday for us both.

We can all find faults with most hotels when away from home, we have travelled to USA over the last 3 years and this hotel was better than them.

The food in the restaurant has it's good points and bad but if you can't find something to eat from the spread laid out by the staff go back home and order the take away pizza. You have to remember the hotel has to cater for all, not just us English. My wife and me had some great meals in the restaurant.

This hotel is not for the 18-30's type but a week away in the sun around the pool with a nice gin and tonic (Spanish measure of course), we would go back and are looking at booking again for Oct next year.

If you are still not sure what to do just go for it, a holiday is what you make of it.

If you put sun/pool/beer together what else do you need?

Like others me and my partner were a bit worried after reading other reviews, however

what we had was a very good holiday. Yes the breakfasts could be warmer but plenty of choice and evening meals very good with even a fussy eater like me finding something tasty on offer, with helpful staff inc english. Our room was at pool level and kept very clean the only downside being that the rooms got very hot with only a ceiling fan.

The hotel itself was spotless with the pool always cleaned daily. Entertainment not so good so we went out and found a good english owned pub called Pilgrims bar showing most engish footy games. As for trips we did ours from a shop just up the road called Megatone run by a very helpful english couple. We did Loro Parque and Parque las Aguilas both excellent days out, by the way if doing Loro Parque beware if you sit in the splash zone at the Orca show it is a bit more than just a splash. We also did a 3hr whale trip from Los Gigantes on board the Nashira Uno, its cheaper to walk or get the bus to Los Gigantes then book a trip than to go through an organised tour.

All in all a great holiday and will be back next year to this hotel.
