If you want to stay in a hotel that is a little tired, be served by a barman with love bites on his neck who calls you mate, deal with occasionally surly and unhelpful reception staff, have the previous room occupants hair and fluff stored under the bed, sleep? on a plastic covered matress, be presented with mediocre, repetitive food in the restaurant, then this is the place for you, but, it does have nice views.

We had a great Christmas here. The views are spectacular to the mountains and sea. Our room was very big and cleaned daily with clean towels and sheets. The food was very good (no snacks though). The entertainment wasn't up to much but the holiday was very relaxing. The Christmas meal was excellent. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.

If your looking for a budget hotel with entertainment laid on for those who have the intelligence of a donkey then this is the hotel for you!!!
Basic rooms, very clean I may add. Water tank in the bathroom and once it's gone it's gone for at least 4 hours so do not attempt a bath!
Fans that wobble and wired through the light sockets, make sure also that you are up at the crack of dawn to reserve your sunbed! Early for breakfast before the food runs out and it's not replenished. Tables are not made up and hunt the cutlery begins!
Resort is quiet do not go here if you are looking for a lively holiday and definitely stay clear if you are a shopper!
Los Gigantes is worth a visit but if you have walking difficulties then think twice as it is very hilly.
One comment...........never again!!!
I don't know if I stayed in a different hotel to the rest of the people who have wrote reviews because I found the overall experience one I wouldn't want to repeat, I am just happy the beach was nice and the weather good!

Fantastic hotel, rooms very clean, cleaned 6 out of 7 days. Entertainment in the hotel is wide, plenty for kids to do in the day from archery, shooting, bowls.
Close to bars and shops, a holiday at this hotel would suit couples and families.

Me and my wife visited this hotel over the October half term and expected it to be busy which it was but not only with English, at the time of our visit the hotel had Spanish, German, French and even Russian. We had read the comments from others and thought have we done the right thing and I'm glad to say YES we did, it was a nice holiday for us both.
We can all find faults with most hotels when away from home, we have travelled to USA over the last 3 years and this hotel was better than them.
The food in the restaurant has it's good points and bad but if you can't find something to eat from the spread laid out by the staff go back home and order the take away pizza. You have to remember the hotel has to cater for all, not just us English. My wife and me had some great meals in the restaurant.
This hotel is not for the 18-30's type but a week away in the sun around the pool with a nice gin and tonic (Spanish measure of course), we would go back and are looking at booking again for Oct next year.
If you are still not sure what to do just go for it, a holiday is what you make of it.
If you put sun/pool/beer together what else do you need?

Like others me and my partner were a bit worried after reading other reviews, however
what we had was a very good holiday. Yes the breakfasts could be warmer but plenty of choice and evening meals very good with even a fussy eater like me finding something tasty on offer, with helpful staff inc english. Our room was at pool level and kept very clean the only downside being that the rooms got very hot with only a ceiling fan.
The hotel itself was spotless with the pool always cleaned daily. Entertainment not so good so we went out and found a good english owned pub called Pilgrims bar showing most engish footy games. As for trips we did ours from a shop just up the road called Megatone run by a very helpful english couple. We did Loro Parque and Parque las Aguilas both excellent days out, by the way if doing Loro Parque beware if you sit in the splash zone at the Orca show it is a bit more than just a splash. We also did a 3hr whale trip from Los Gigantes on board the Nashira Uno, its cheaper to walk or get the bus to Los Gigantes then book a trip than to go through an organised tour.
All in all a great holiday and will be back next year to this hotel.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was big and spacey. Food was nice, good choice for everyone.
Entertainment was funny rather than good though it did do exactly what it said it would, "Entertain".
Had a great time! Worth a visit!

When we booked our holiday, I went on the internet to find out information on this hotel.
I was horrified! All I was reading was bad reports, we did think about changing our hotel, I’m so pleased we never. It was brill.
The food was good, everything you could think of for breakfast, dinner and lunch were great too.
The pool was clean and safe. The rooms were cleaned every day.
The entertainment was fine to join in with afternoons activities such fun and you meet every one.
When we booked up we were half board when we realised you could book all inclusive for 15 Euros a day and 7.50 Euros for a child we did, well worth it.
You pay 4 Euros for a sprit drink and ice cream 1 Euros, we saved loads doing this.
We will return to this hotel that is a cert.

My wife and I visited in October 2006 with our 2 year old daughter. See the Pros and Cons below.
Pros
Friendly staff. Nice quiet area, good if your looking to relax. Good food for adults, always hot. Excellent entertainment including a magician, parrot show etc. Nice swimming pool with sun beds. Most rooms have a sea view which is nice. 24 Hour reception. Internet access (2 EUR for 30 mins when we went). Rooms cleaned and beds changed 6 days a week
Cons
No Air Conditioning in rooms. Not a lot of food choice for kids. Food a little repetitive (i.e. chips every day). No snacks available between meal times as part of the all inclusive package. Some staff couldn't speak a word of English, you would expect they could as most of the Very hilly area. Quite far for the main tourist attractions i.e. Loro Parque, Aqua Land etc. Floors were quite dirty in the main bar, if you take your shoes off your feet are black by the end of the night!

My wife and I travel to Tenerife on a quite regular basis, usually staying self catering. On this occasion we saw a deal on Teletext and decided to book. We were not disappointed.
Arriving early, 04.00 at the hotel, there was a night porter on duty who duly booked us in, and, as we were all inclusive we were given the obligatory wrist band and then shown our room.
The room was huge, with a living area, bathroom and bedroom that had plenty of storage for clothes and other items. There is no air conditioning although there are ceiling fans. The patio area was also big and was overlooking the pool. After a few hours sleep we explored the complex. It was very clean and tidy with well looked after gardens. The pool area was a sun trap. It too was clean and spacious, there was also a life guard on duty. The poolside bar was busy and had a good selection of drinks available. The seating area surrounding the bar was nice, however it needed to be equipped with parasols, so as when having a drink and admiring the ocean view towards La Gomera, you did not fry in the heat.
The restaurant was very clean and spacious. The meals were good, especially the fish, although there seemed to be a lack of labeling telling you what the item actually was. I think it has been mentioned before though, about the breakfast layout. This is one of the only problems we actually encountered. The bacon was dripping in oil, the eggs were usually cold and forget the sausages, but apart from that it was good.
The staff however were very attentive and professional in their duties and worked long hard hours.
Entertainment was good, although the entertainment 'manager', was run off his feet and tried very hard to keep everybody amused.
Outside the hotel, the area of Arena, is very beautiful especially Los Gigantes. Lovely walks have been made along the sea front, 'very refreshing on a scorching day'.
The pace of life is easy and there is nobody 'in your face' as in other resorts. Buses are frequent, every half hour, to Gigantes and Las Americas, the latter stopping at many resorts along the coast.
There are many places to eat, outside the hotel, if you fancy a change, you won't be disappointed.
If you have hired a car, there is plenty of parking space around the hotel area. All in all, a good value holiday.
