Pomorie Hotel

My husband and I stayed here on a bed and breakfast basis, we did breakfast only the once as the food was awful it was cold and it was more like a works canteen then a restaurant, which was blatant lie. You know your in for trouble when they have microwaves in the restaurant to warm your food up, the scrambled eggs had black bits in it and the food was taken out of the room a couple of minutes before the 10.00 cut off.
The room was small, and our cleaner didnt change the sheets on our bed for the fortnight and the bathroom was not cleaned once in the whole two weeks. If you are a couple without children dont go to this hotel it totally geared for families and at 3 o'clock every day you have stupid german song called snappy something and a Bulgarian bloke around the pool who likes the sound of his own voice.
I had to get up at 6 in the morning to get a towel on a sunbed by the pool and if you wanted to have a nice swim you ran the gauntlet with the amount of floatation devices in the pool.
The toilets in the lobby seemed to be swimming in water every day and smelt awful and very rarely had any toilet roll, if you could call it that, it is more like sandpaper, take your toilet roll if you go to this hotel.
The lobby bar is only open 11.00 till 23.00 for all inclusive and because they only use plastic cups you find them everywhere you go.
I had spoke to people who were all inclusive about the food and the general situation was it was dreadful, the staff were rude to the all inclusive guests as I witnessed it on several occasions. Yet the staff seemed to be fine with my husband and I as we did not have the red band, apart from one old cleaner who works the night shift, she is a horrible individual on four separate nights during the second week 1 person from our group had gone to the toilet in the bar "eil Cafe" which is franchised bar located in Pomorie. Each of them was physically assaulted by this woman who pushed them out of the toilet and waved her arms around. She even did it to the Bulgarian Barmaid Maria who had a drink with us after she finished at Garfields.
This end of Sunny Beach is okay, you have to watch what is going on as we went to the bar - The House, which has the best karaoke and karaoke host - Johnnie B, but everynight we went, even though we ordered the same drinks they were different prices depending on who served us.
During our stay the sports bar was trashed by its owner because he had too much to drink one night and the hotel lift was wrecked by some rowdy guests. This hotel also has a lot of Norwegian and Germans and is right opposite a club which is open till late so request a room at the back otherwise you may not get much sleep.
All in all, do yourself a favour and book another hotel completely, this place is worse then a prison camp.

Have read a lot of reports on this Hotel and i must agree with some of them ,but as a party of 7 who have just returned, we had a great time. We treated people with courtesy&respect and got the same back.The AI bar was a joke but the beer was poor anyway ,the pool bar was much better ,and Elizabeth and Rachel were great, I know you had to pay but it was worth it. Food, it is always a subjective thing, they had good days and bad days, but you could always find something to eat. Walk the line first before you queue. The rooms we had were clean well kept and the bathroom was spotless ,I gave my cleaner a tip because she was worth it.
The location was close to the beach, but also very noisy and hot at night hire a fan!
My biggest complaint was the people staying there, it makes me sad to be British, when i see a Scotsman drunk a 7.30pm in the lobby and still drunk passed out it the same place at at 6.30 am.and the English were no better, rude, shouting at the staff argueing over sunbeds, allowing our children to run riot when we were drinking at the bar, what a site we must make for the Bulgarian people.A holiday is what you make it, and if you want it served on a plate for you Go to the Savoy in London.

I stayed at the Pomorie in July 2006. I had the best holiday on my life. The hotel is perfect for 18 - 30 year olds. It is directly opposite the main night club Lazur and great for taking women back to. The food is not great but I didn't care as I didn't get up until 3pm every and just drank beer all week. Perfect holiday for want it was meant to be a cheap lads holiday, meeting girls, taking back to the hotel, beer, shots, kebab. Great time.
The pool was nice and big and clean, could do with Air con though.

I agree to all comments but I think a prisoner camp is far better than the hotel itself.
If you want a miserable and a holiday to hell, I think the hotel and the staff itself will win the title. If at any rate please try your best to avoid this disgusting hotel. This is a money grabber hotel at any rate- all inclusive this must a joke. If all the hotels are like this then the the EU regulation board should looked at this matter SERIOUSLY !!!! they complain about uk hotels then they need to stay here

I am almost stuck for words! This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in .
I have just read all the reviews from other people, who also had a terrible experience at the Pomorie. This is not acceptable. We looked forward to this holiday all year, then
were treated like dirt. Food, staff, attitude - everything about the place is rotten.
I could not agree more with all the other comments, concerning the way this place is run. It is an absolute disgrace, and should be closed down.
I myself will not rest until I get some feedback from Balkan holidays, and will be taking this matter further. I will not be fobbed off. They must realize what kind of "hotel" this is, yet they are sending us there like lambs to the slaughter!!
Please do not even think about going to this hell hole!

We arrived at this hotel at 5am after a long journey to be greeted by youths singing and chanting on one of the balconies (didn't look good). The communial area's of the hotel appeared to be cleaned only once a day so were filthy and sticky. The all inclusive food was absolute filth, one day my son had raw chicken nuggets, baked beans stone cold and all dishes had to be re-heated in the microwave ovens provided x 2. The staff throughout the hotel we found to be very miserable and unhelpful. The pool was nice but over crowded, unless you claimed a sunbed by 8am forget it. Only one all inclusive bar which opened from 11am till 11pm, only 2 drinks per person allowed at one visit and served in small plastic beakers, cue to get served by the oh so miserable staff was terrible. If you want a cheap shabby hotel to sleep off your nights clubbing then this is for you. If you are looking for a family holiday, I stongly advise you to think very carefuly before going to this hotel. All the other guests I spoke to whilst we were there felt the same. The communial area's and the corridors constantly smelt of stale fag smoke. The rooms do not have air con in them, so are extremely hot and uncomfortable. In my opinion a very poor hotel and I will definately not be returning.

Just back from 2 weeks of misery. Hotel staff were very unpleasant and unhelpfull. Restuarant if that's what you would call it was a disgrace, plates were either dirty, chipped or broke in your hands. Food was the same each night and cold if you were not there at opening time, not much to choose from for kids even adults! Our room kept clean but know of others who's weren't. Entertainment was virtually nil. For being all inclusive the bar situation was terible, there was one bar which either had one bar staff on or there was a few of them talking and ignoring people in the queue, which at times you waited half an hour for two small drinks!Would recommend the resort but not the hotel.

hotel in general very basic but clean , buffet style breakfast was ok , only problem i had with hotel was that it had no air con in the rooms so had to leave room window open at night to cool down , then had trouble getting to sleep as resorts biggest nightclub is just across from hotel oh and that racket of a place called bar X TREME , other than that everything else good , going back aug 08 but to royal central

I have just come back from staying at the pomorie hotel, if you can call it a hotel it is more like a prison camp!!!!! and the staff must be on community service i have never been to a hotel and treated the way the staff at the pomorie treat holiday makers. I went with my mum dad, 2 younger sisters and my 3 year old nephew. We went all inclusive why????? we had to eat out the food was awfull the plates had last nights tea on them. There was one bar if you were all inclusive but you had to queue about 30mins and then was only alowed 2 drinks. In the brochure its states theres a pool bar and a lobby bar not untill you get there do they then tell you that they dont belong to the hotel and that you must pay!!!! Why advertise it in the brochure then?? We arrived at 5am in the morning with young children and had to buy a drink (great start to the all inclusive) There were 2 young lads 16 ish sat in the reception area swearingn smashing glasses but of course because they were paying for there drinks they were left alone. Yet i go to reception to ask for some batteries for my remote and get told to go to bed???? I am on holiday i will go to be when i want and then i get grabbed by the security and told they would call the police!!! Dont seem quite right to me. Whilst i was there the security guards were hitting young children and so was the man that owns the lobby bar and all the balkan holiday reps (the ones who are there to represent us. supposidly) could say is you should watch your children!!!!! The bar staff have a lap top on the bar with porn on it and they laff in your face when you say there is children about. Not one person whilst i was there had a good word to say about the pomorie, surely all these complaints some things hould be done now. The place is a hazard plugs hanging out of walls, 8ft holes near the kids pool which some one fell down. I have submitted a formal complant to balkan holidays today i have not worked all year and save for nothing which is basically what you get for your money. Sunny beach is a lovely place but please if you have booked change hotels now as we tried to with in 3 hours of been in the hotel and could not be moved. We read the reviews before we went if only we had listened.

this hotel is bad stayed at this hotel last august 2007 its a bad hotel .we only went bed and breakfast but food was rubbish.the hotels in a good location but thats the only good thing about it.the staff are light finered we had clothes a watch and my 120 pound hair straightners stolen out of our room,staff at hotel wernt bothered or rep we wernt the only ones and by the reports this year theire at it again.hire a safe and put all u belongings in theire and get a good lock on u suitcase and put u hairdryer etc in theire they even stole packs of kids pants that we took with us for the kids.the pool area is a good size but staff at pool bar are miserable if u go allinclusive their is one bar 2 use the lobby bar which is miles from the pool and the service is crap anyone going 2 this hotel ch.. ange.balkan know this hotel has problems but a director of balkan owns this hotel on a positive sunny beach is great and cheap but go 4star
