Villa Manos

We've stayed at many hotels and Poppy and her family had by far the best service. Always ready to help and even offering cake straight out of her oven! Breakfast is made to order which is much nicer than any buffet breakfast I've had. Also, you can rent a car for 20euros a day and they'll drop it off and pick it up from the hotel for you which saves a lot of time and efort.Plus the pool and pool area were large and very nice. We would recommend seeing the red beach on your visit. It was spectacular!

My time at Villa Manos was absolutely wonderful -- I enjoyed it so much that I had to stay longer than I had planned. It is a small family-owned hotel that is very comfortable. Poppy and her family are very welcoming and hospitable to everyone. As she grew up on the island, Poppy is very knowlegeable about the area and has connections with many of the locals and will help travelers get good deals on everything around the island. This is a difficult review to write, because you get exactly what you pay for. First I am going to list my dislikes but there are many good ones about Villa Manos so please read on. There were a few things about Villa Manos that I didnt like, holes in the blankets on the bed, uncomfortable mattress and terrible pillows (very old and bumpy), I dont believe our bed sheets were changed in our 5 night stay, very basic rooms. Poppy and her family were very hospitable. They will pick you up and drop you off at the ferry! We were even dropped off by her husband in Fira one morning because he happened to be dropping off their kids to school. This is a great place on a budget. We stayed in the one bedroom with kitchen. Hotel is a 20 minute walk to Fira. We highly recommend this place, however for breathtaking views on the cliffs stay in Fira.

We really enjoyed our time at Villa Manos. Poppy and Vegelius were extremely warm, friendly and helpful. The hotel was very inviting with a beautiful pool and a view of the sea. Our room was spacious and clean. We particularly appreciated all of the personal touches - the pick up and drop off at the port, chatting and drinking wine together and even having a special birthday recognized. Villa Manos is very well ubicated in the midle of the beautiful Santorini island , close from downtown Fira (8 minutes walking) and by the road that conects all the island . You can take the bus that passes almost right in front of the hotel, or rent a scooter (very cheap 10 E a day for 2 persons) or rent a car, also cheap. Villa Manos is the cutest hotel in Santorini! The atmosphere is so laid back and homey and Popi is the sweetest woman ever. I stayed there twice in the last two months, and both times I was really happy that I did. I also happened to see a number of other hotels this past trip because a bunch of friends of mine were staying all over the island, and my room was much larger for a better price and Villa Manos is infinitely more personal and friendly.
