La Vita Hotel

we have just returned from staying at the lavita. after reading the reviews we thought we will go with an open mind and judge ourselves. Well it is not a four star two would be nearer the mark. Yes the rooms where kept clean but did notice towards the end of our stay towels that had been left to change were put back on the towel rails. The breakfast was a fiasco, never enough clean tables one vacum flask of water and one of coffee put out at a time staff were sullen. This hotel is located on a side road,50 yards from the beach. Despite representing itself as 4 star, 2.5 or 3 would be nearer the mark. The rooms are kept very clean and are serviced daily. Many of the rooms are beginning to show signs of wear and tear. Faulty showers, broken window shades, electrical sockets hanging from the wires, were some of the complaints made while we were there. Stayed there 23 -30 september. The hotel is clean and tidy. Maid service was very good. However, There are no balconies, tea or coffee facilities in the room. Bar staff did not speak good English and found us difficult to understand infact did appear quite rude. there was no entertainment and breakfast that was served was very poor. Proximity to nighlife and beach excellent. outside hotel shabby. Would not be going back.

The La Vita was excellent value. It does not pretend to be more than a dormitory hotel, with breakfast and a quiet bar. However, the room was simple but clean and serviced every day. The room was big enough and no balcony was not a big loss. Air conditioning is included, but only works when you are in the room (it needs the room key to work it). Having read several reviews we were not sure what to expect. We were sold this holiday as "staying in a 4* hotel with the use of a 5* sister hotel", well by no streach of the imagination could you say the La Vita is a 4*, Yes it was clean, Yes it is in a great location for beach and nightlife, Yes the facilities of the sister hotel were very good BUT do not kid yourself that you are getting a 4* hotel, very shabby outside, no balcony, quite small rooms and 2-3* service. Great location at the top of the island, within easy walking distance of harbour, old town and shops. Hotel situated on end of road which runs from one side of the island (turkey view side) to the other (calmer less windy). Overlooking rocky beach but within 5 minutes walk from calm sandy beach (near casino). Restuarants, touristy shops and small supermarkets within one minute walk. Having read previous reviews on La Vita, our family expected the hotel to be pretty basic, and so weren't shocked that there were no balconies with the rooms, or any swimming pools. I would describe La Vita as a perfect business hotel really with clean, although fairly small rooms. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the rooms, they were always spotless. I realy liked this Hotel. It is comfortable and clean. You can use all the benefits of the Grand Hotel which is nearby. The best thing is dinner in the Grand Hotel. The dinner is amazing.

my husband and I stayed at the Lavita for a week in October. The staff were very helpful and friendly especially the lady who makes the omlettes at breakfast time. However the room was very disapointing and definitely the worst one I have stayed in, I have had better accomodation in a two star. The room was tiny and full of mosquitos when we arrived as the window had been left open all night, as a result we were bitten to death all night! My friend and I stayed at La Vita in July this year and whilst the room was pretty basic and the hotel in general was not 'fantastic', the place is immaculate, the rooms are cleaned daily, the breakfast is good, we found the staff to be friendly and the hotel is close to lots of nice restaurants and bars. Of course, you can use the facilities at The Grand just down the road and there is a beach on your doorstep.
