Submitted By: Mr J RuckwoodFirstly I would never use olympic again after being treated like something off their shoe and never seeing a rep apart from when she was hungover, we were a party of over 25 and everyone had the same experience of her.
The food was rubbish we struggled to find things for my little boy and I felt like I was eating the same thing over and over again.
After one day of being here we were truely fed up what with having to pay for air con our flights being changed then delayed no contact from Olympic and the attitude of the people in general.
I will say the staff were good but then at times I found them to be moody and annoyed that I had asked for something, there is so much I could say about this place and part of greece none of it being good I have stayed in others parts and found it amazing but this I would never visit again.
I would strongly advise people to not bother there is nothing outside of the resort really and if you do decide to go don't use Olympic!

Submitted By: Mr R HendersonOne of the main problems was the food. This was a big problem. It didn't look at all appealing. It looked messy and very unappetising. Myself, I like food and eat a lot but the look of the food put me off. It didn't taste too bad but it was the same stuff every night. There was always pasta. A little originality wouldn't hurt, and definetly make the food look appealing.
The only other, slight concern was the air conditioning. When you walk in your room after being in the blistering heat all day, you hope to be greeted by a cool room, due to the fair price payed for the air conditioning. It was certainly not cool enough, leaving us too hot to sleep, the air conditioning definetly needs to be stronger.
Other than this, I believe that the hotel was respectable and as mentioned by another, good for 3 stars. The pool was a very good size. Very impressive. There was a slide, this being a big attraction for the kids who seemed to love going down it, and who can blame them, great addition. Facilities were fine. A good tennis court, being a big tennis fan myself, the court was the whole place. The gates were right next to the court meaning it is very easy to lose the balls. You can play table tennis, in the shade, which is good because you don't want to be in the direct heat.
There is a supermarket, very good itself, directly across the road which came in very handy, you don't want to be walking miles with an ice cream for others because it would of course, melt. The shops down the road are very good, plenty of cocktail bars, my favourite being Zorbas. There weren't many restaurants, but Nikos was certainly the best, a wide range of food and cooked fantastically. We eat there several times during our fortnight because the quality of the food was so much better than at the hotel's restaurant.
There were not many British there, so if you're planning to come here, then learn a bit of Germans if you want to get along with fellow holiday-goers.
Overall, I would say that I enjoyed my stay here, a few little adjustments and the hotel would be fantastic.
" Well id say we were quite pleased... "
Submitted By: Miss D HumphriesThe mozzies were a problem, i had heard from another couple that are hotel was described as the Hot Spot for them, my boyfriend suffered with the bites quite bad i managed to survive getting any on my stay. I would suggest shutting the bathroom door at night, we thought they were coming in through the holes in the bathroom and most nights we had to go through the whole room doing a mozzie killing spree to prevent getting bitten in the night.
In the mornings i didnt like the fact that i felt forced to vacate my room at half 9 in the morning, we are a young couple and we dont plan on laying in till mid day, but holidays are supposed to be relaxing, and we spent most of our mornings trying to rush out of the room by half 9 so the maid didnt tell us off again.
We also had to pay for air conditioning, when we were in Rhodes the temperature was in the 50s, and we found it unbearable to sleep at night without it.
When it came to our last day, we knew it was going to be a very long day as we werent getting picked up from our hotel till 2:15 AM and our flight wasnt till 4:40 local time, so we thought we have to keep our room because we need somewhere to freshen up and get sleep until the time we leave, they said we could have a room but it wouldnt be the one which we have stayed in, we paid 40 euros for this room and no all inclusive. They were also trying to make us give back our bracelets before it was even 12. I thought that this was expensive considering we only wanted a place to rest before the bus came to pick us up at 2.
Apart from that our holiday ran smoothly, it was nice and quiet by the pool, plenty of spaces to sit, and the food was lovely with alot of variety. The main town was nice, you could buy bottled drinks to have in your room, and there was a good choice of Bars and Restuarants and the people were very friendly. We also took a trip to the Island of Symi and i thought this trip was excellent, unfortunately abit to hot to do much sight seeing.

Submitted By: Mr K RaymentThe place looks good from the road and gave us valid confidence during that 'what have we come to' moment. But, during our check-in it transpired that our room '...wasn't ready yet...' and that fellow holiday makers with children were not even booked-in: Not a pleasant sensation at 04.55 hrs. We waited until we were allocated at 05.40 hrs - despite little evidence of a cleaner reporting-in whilst the frantic rep arranged various upgrade sweeteners to the others (a few days at four star with car and an eventual upgrade to all-inclusive). Even though it was the operators error, had the seemingly officious manager been a little more humble/self effacing during this ghastly event I would raise this review a point - but first impressions count..!
The place is mainly couple/family with little to suggest itself to singles with designs on hitching-up. Food was all presented in the dining room (ie no poolside BBQ's) and was excellent, being varied, freshly prepared, plentiful & tasty. However, my sweet-toothed partner was denied too many puddings/sweets/deserts since few were on offer; a Greek norm? Accommodation was sound well tended with regular fresh linen/towels & had a hair-dryer installed.
The local cocktails were syrup based, as were the juices and the local spirits may amuse a branded booze purist. Experiment, why not? - we did - being well hosted by charismatic waiting/bar staff, amongst whom were young Poles (working on a pittance?) with lovely demeanour. I'd further raise my score if more comfy chairs were provided and the manager didn't randomly (?) turn-off the air-con during the later parts of the evening. Maybe it was only on when he was in residence?
Incidentally, towels aren't provided for the pool - so take lounger towels and don't look for poolside loo's because the only public area facilities are oddly through the cocktail bar adjacent & downstairs to the Reception.
The bus service up/down the coast to Lindos & Rhodes was effective, but many don't risk it. Perhaps consider this if you're uncertain, we stashed a reserve kitty for a taxi as back-up if it went pear-shaped, which it didn't. Take yourself on a bus to at least give yourselves a break from being continually(?) car-bound.
In conclusion, the Rodo Cypria is a fine place to holiday and surely no-one could grumble that for three stars vs. the price gives fine value in a pleasing place.

Submitted By: Mrs A MarchantThe hotel staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for you even though English was their third language after Greek then German. The amount of food on offer was well cooked and the variety was acceptable, food on offer from 7 in the morning till 9.30 at night and then drinks on till about midnight. The only time we ate out was on the final night when the all inclusive had finished and we tried one of the many local restaurants in town.
The room we stayed in was cleaned everyday, air conditioned and TV free of charge. Complementary wine left for when we arrived, and a fridge to keep drinks cool in. The only downer for us was the patio it looked on to a white plastered wall, and when we looked over the top it was then we discovered that we were below ground level! Quite bizarre, which meant we had to keep the curtains closed as we were near the tennis court. The room also included a safe free of charge, and a bath with shower attached made for a relaxing soak.
There were plenty of recliners at the pool, a slide in to the pool, a pool side snack bar, there was grassed children’s play area, a tennis court and ping pong. Inside the main building there was a bar, with plenty of seating some comfy leather sofas, and a massive tv screen. Internet access, video games and pool available. The drinks were none stop, non alcoholic or if you wanted something stronger the long drinks were amazing.
The grounds were well kept beautifully tended flower beds, with luscious green foliage all surrounding the buildings. Quite surroundings and a 5 minute stroll in to town and everything you could need.
Bus service was awful so we hired a car from Marathon rentals and it cost us 50 euros for 3 days fully comp.
So we paid £500 for both of us including all transfers etc, and it was worth every penny!
I would recommend you learn a bit of German as this is mainly a German hotel, you will be in the minority if you are British. I would also recommend not booking any trips with the Olympic rep, we went for the VIP package of trips 240 Euros and didn't get picked up for two, and left on our own in the middle of no where for an hour as they'd bodged the transport. We managed to get impartial refund but it really was annoying, local travel firm can do a lot better for a lot less!
So fear not, if you paid a little for you holiday you're in for a surprise, it's amazing.

Advice: Kolymbia is a bit run down. In September there is no entertainment unless you like karaoke!!
Activities: Not much choice in restaurants
