you get what you pay for

Have just returned from a week stay at the Lymberia and had a fab time. Thats not because of the hotel though unfortunately. Positives to start: The pool area very clean with plenty of sun loungers and a baby pool seprate with its own sunloungers for the younger ones. The Hotel staff very helpful anf freindly who spoke good english and constantly cleaning. Location good: about a 10 min walk to the beach and 10 mins into the bar street so away enough from the hussle and bustle but not too far for a late night stagger back from the bars. A high mix of nationalities but everyone seemed to get on well. THE BEST PART OF THER HOTEL the animation team (althought for our week only one man) did an ace job: darts competitions in the morning, followed by an energetic water aerobics session where he really did get everyone included. The afternoon a similarly energetic water volley ball session and general entertainment by the pool. In the evening the night started with bingo followed by either a music quiz, dance competion, or disco etc.
Now for the negatives: Rooms are very basic. They are not all the same, we ended up with a twin room although we had booked a double and one would not be available un til half way through our stay. The sea veiw was a bonus but these seems to be limited to very few rooms, some of the other people we met were not so lucky and had ground floor room nearly half the size of ours and they really were in need of some attention. They come equiped with a small fridge and a television, which we had paid more for but the only english channel was bbc news all the other channels (13) were in german or polish. Although the rooms were cleaned daily and sheets and towels twice in our stay the beds were very uncomfortable and i ended up flipping the matresses just for a bit less spring in back action. Wardrobes small with no hangers in ours so take your own and no kettle etc. The air conditioning is on a timer from 6pm to 7am so a lie in become impossioble because of the heat, you can pay 5 euros a day to have this on all day. A.I. the food was extremly repetative breakfast a mix of continental and thier atempt at a full english but we did get very bored of the same food so ended up out for brekkie 3 times, some lovely restaurants on the sea front which i would recommend, Cafe opposite the marina chapel and half way down the bay a garden restaurant on the beach. Lunch was better with nice greek salads and a variety of pasta, chips, and meats available. The a.i. stops at 11pm but there is a pay bar in the hotel after this. Drinks options on the A.I. beer, wine (although not to my tatse) soft drinks (no diet) and local spirits - GIn, vodka, rum, snapps etc.
Be carfeull not to get put in the blocks across from the hotel as it does make you feel isolatted, some other english couples we met were originally put here and the moved half way through their holiday,.
You really do get what you pay for here and i wouldn't return here unfortunatley it really was a mix of high and low points but we all agreed it was the people who made our holiday not the hotel.
Had a fab day out on the Marco Poalo boat trip and a packed day at the water park so would recommend both.

We visited on 9th of June, for two weeks. The rooms were clean, the staff were lovely and the food was excellent.
There were a good mix of visitors from different countries, who, although speaking different languages, all managed to get along.
All in all, a fantastic holiday, and we cant wait to go back.

Just got back from the Lymberia, and I must say, after reading some of the reviews, i was apprehensive. The hotel was clean, rooms a bit basic but fine. The food was fine not masses of choice but enough variation. The staff were friendly, and the two lads on the animation team are to be commended. On the whole a really enjoyable week and I would go back again.
For what we paid, it was value for money.

Has its good's and its bad's

May 2010, Jay-Z-NYC

Me and my girlfriend (20 and 22 years of age) arrived at the Lymberia Hotel on 14/5/10. We was welcomed by a free cocktail and assisted bagage carring to our room. The hotel itself, was very clean, well presented and appeared to look very professional.
In terms of location, it is between 10-15mins walk to the nearest beach, and 15-20mins walk away from the clubbing scene. It was a quiet area, with great views, and two pools.
There were 2 bars, 1 serving from 10.30am-11pm, with extremely limited alcohol. there were no bottled beer or alco-pops, 1 beer on tap, local wine (1 red, 1 white) and local versions of spirits. So as you can imagine, it was limited.
the second bar opened at 6.30pm-2am. This bar however had all the genuine spirits you could imagine, however it still only had 1 beer on tap, with no bottled beer or alco-pops.
The food at the hotel disgusted us however. nothing was labelled, therefore we had to ask waitresses (who did not understand us), there were snails, catapillars, slugs and hair found within our food aswell. to add to this, the waitressing staff were extremely abnoxious and ill-mannered. They never smilled, glared at you, would mutter under their breath at you, and just give u a feeling of not being accepted.
The entertainer was brilliant!!!! Mo-Mo as he is known. For the little amount of equipment he had, he somehow kept the smiles on everyones faces. he always had a smile on his face, talked to everyone and was always trying to have a laugh. he was ace. The entertainment at night is always brilliant. everyone is laughing and nearly everyone gets involved.
on the whole, aside from the food, and some of the staff, the hotel was quite satisfactory. if the food was better, more drink available and if more of the staff were like the entertainer, then i would rate the hotel right up there with the best.
The one really good thing about Lymberia hotel, if your after a quite relaxing, or fun, action packed holiday, then this hotel is perfectly positioned. beautiful coves are dotted within a 10min quadbike drive away, waterparks, mountain walks and beaches are very close. the town centre is also just 15-20min walk away to for the clubbers.

I was also a little skeptical when I read the praise and rice, but I must say that Lymberia Hotel was fantastic. Were welcomed and given a green wristband, which meant "All inclusive" Immediately I went into the restaurant for the 3 buffet tables, which was continually stocked with ample food. Liquor got me at the pool bar and was always 2 glass at a time. Afterwards, I could get everything in drinks from the poolside bar, it was really nice. The staff was tip top friendly and nice, always a fresh statement every day. Breakfast was American Breakfast with everything. The coffee was perfectly drinkable juice also, but this could well have a little more fruit. All meals were welcomed to each and every day was tip top ok. The hostess checked that everything went really for. Lunch was overwhelming and so I can say about supper. Was continually buffet stocked with fresh produce.
I can give my sincere advice to all staff and the hotel!

A Holiday That Ticked All The Boxes

Just arrived back from a fantastic week holiday at the Lymberia Hotel Falaraki after reading the past reviews I was a little apprehensive but I need not have been because all my worries were unnecessary.
The hotel was beautiful and clean and although the rooms were basic they were clean comfortable and passed the beautifully clean bed sheet test It is the first thing I do have a look to see if the sheets are spotless and had everything you needed including a hairdryer and fridge.
The meals were always beautifully prepared and always had plenty of choice to suit everyone’s taste. For breakfast there was a choice of continental or cooked breakfast, cereal, yogurt, cake.
For lunch there was a choice of salad or a hot meal of typically chicken, pork, lamb, fish, or pasta with a choice or vegetables and ice cream to follow.
For dinner it was similar to the lunch menu in that it had a choice of salad or a hot meal but a different choice from lunch, the meat was always in huge chunks and cooked to perfection and a small choice of sweet dishes to follow.
The all inclusive bar which was open from 10.30am until 11.00pm stocked good variety of soft drinks, lager, locally produced wine and spirits which were all or good quality also tea and coffee. Snacks were served at the pool bar from 10.30am until 12.00pm and cookies and ice cream were served for 3.30pm until 5.30pm
The location of the hotel was perfect, just a nice walk out of Falaraki to be away from the hustle and bustle and on the edge of some very beautiful country side having the best of both worlds beach and country.
The hotel was situate quite close to bus stops that would take you to Rhodes City for 3 euros each way or to Lindos for 4.50 euros and further afield the other way the bus ran very regularly approx every 20 mines.
Going to Rhodes City which is a breathtaking place we thought that we would have to wait until the next bus as it was full but along came another bus in a couple of minutes and then another one so everyone at bus stop managed to get on a bus.
Just along the road from the hotel are two fairly big supermarkets that seemed to stock everything a holiday maker would need.
All in all it was a perfect holiday the only thing lacking was evening entertainment but that was due to start the Friday after we left just think we had gone to early in the season.
Would defiantly go back.

the hotel on arrival was ok, but inside was very old fashionshed and basic. The food is catered just to germans and i wouldn't even feed my dog on it. the staff are extremely rude and do NOT like the BRITISH this hotel should be just advertised to german, polish, dutch and the worst russians. The Hotel is not very clean and cleaners just use same water for every room. The rooms smell from the toilet and ants and mosqitoes are every were. If you have a shower you soak the place and makes your room smell even more. Me and my partner had to eat out every day and spend everyday at the beach. the all inclusive bar was basic and shut at eleven felt like being back home wish i booked a holiday in wales. this holiday have made us lose all respect for the greek islands i we will never be returning

Ive just returned from a weeks stay...

Ive just returned from a weeks stay at the Lymberia hotel with my sister in law. We're 25 and 28, so we were just looking somewhere decent to feed us and rest our heads. The first night we were put up in the hotel Luca behind the Lymberia, as our room had problems with the pipes! The guy at the reception in Luca gave us a map and shooed us, leaving us to try and find our way around this massive complex of over 8000 rooms to our room! The air conditioning was an electric fan you could buy out of argos for 9.99. So we were a bit apprehensive as the Lymberia was 3 star! I cant fault the Lymberia though, the staff are friendly ( except the woman at the pool bar during the day - she doesnt understand any English apart from the names of the drinks ), the 2 entertainers : Ellen and David are so sweet and lovely, they made our holiday! The downsides are : the air con only goes on from 6pm and goes off at 6am, not great if you're just back from a night out! The food is recycled, I dont think anything was thrown out, and very repetitive and limited, they do very little drinks in the all inclusive ( no diet drinks, cocktails ) although the pay bar is cheap. The maids are VERY rude, as we had to use the towels on the bathroom floor as the water in the shower doesnt drain well, so its very easy to slip and fall, they went ballistic! Overall its a good hotel if you get a bargain, as the location is great! Its very cheap to eat out, so I would recommend that!

Right lets get on with it! Got off...

Jul 2008, Mr D Engledow

Right lets get on with it! Got off plane at 2.30am buy 4.30am we arrived at hotel, like everyone at that time we were not in the best of moods ha. That did not bother us too much. Anyway into the reception to be quietly greeted buy a elderly man possibly 70yrs old who's only words were 'yes' to anything. He got our room key and said 'yes' which obviously meant please come with me. he went outside the front door we looked up at the hotel room and thought this looks good, then as we looked around us we saw this old man across the other side of the road he then led us into what can only be described as a bedsit above a bloody jewellers that misspelled its only words 'gold and silber' we went into this bedsit and said to the grandad of this family run hotel you cannot be serious he said 'yes' and then grew confident in the English language and said 'air conditioning 24hrs' like it was mant to make the 1110quid id payed for a room in a hotel not outside in the shed a good deal. could not even get a drink of water from the hotel as the owner had locked the fridge and gone home with the key he turned out to be a top fella called stavros and worked the 'paying bar' but that does not make up 4 for having to walk half a mile to get a drink at 5.30am ! got our room changed the same morning and by kissing stavros's mum i swindled a double bed for me and are lass. All Inclusive was not worth it ive tasted stronger non-alchoholic beer. Everybody was german not a smile insight staff friendly but all polish one guy had some awesome eyesbrow movement going on which was reserved only for the woman. Poolside entertainment was quality two Slovakian lads spoke good English and always got everyone involved international water polo was won buy us the English. Food like in everybodies reviews was entirely german who eats bloody hot dog sausages on there breakfast. hotel clean room very nice rats around eges of pool. local nightlife is definatley not as you would think in Faliraki im 23 my lady is 26 and bar street waspoor by our stantards not to the standard you would expect fom places like this as we have both been to ibiza most greek islands all ballerics everywhere the party is we have been. Local restaraunts were high quality, cheap, and lots of them even a good indian restaurant.Beach was lovely and clean water sports fantastic. Taxi's were cheap even to the water park but only after you tell them that they are ripping you off and then they give you it at a good price.Water park was a great day out and Rhodes old town even for the young like us is a good day on market day. Go to this hotel if you dont want to be impressed because you wont be also is very good if your from eastern europe.

four of us travelled to lymberia hotel for a 50th birthday,we got a great deal so we dident expect the ritz. this hotel is excellent in most every way, very friendly staff, spotless, great food, all you can eat and drink even free water.please ignore the silly comments from others giving bad reports, you wont get better. falaraki was very quiet at this time of the year, but we prefered it that way. the hotel is a lazy ten minute stroll from the main night life, with shops bars and restaurants along the way.same time to the beach. the barman in the main bar is called stavros, possibly the best barman in the world, thanks to all the staff at lymberia hotel for a great week, we will be back.

Very clean and tidy the rooms were fantastic and the food and drink well wat can i say although the alchohol was a bit weak it was still nice and the food was lovely. the food was basic with pretty much somthing for every one. the staff were very helpfull and friendly. the pool was clean and there was plenty too do. the nightlife was only a quick walk away and the beach not much further.overall it was fantastic and would definately recomend the all inclusive for young people in groups as it works out alot more than self catering which is costly as i found out last year.

Not as bad as some of the reviews! Pool area peaceful, and pleasant. Room small, bathroom not brill, but its Greece. Food, well Greek and German based.
Booze anything but it is their own make. Staff pleasant. Worth money paid as was roughly, £86 per person all inclusive. Think some people pay cheaply and expect 5 star not when it states 3 star. Had lovely time.
