My Wife and I , First found maleme and Mikes Hotel in 1989. When manos and Sophie were schol children. And needless to say ...we go back every year. and will continue to do so .. Mike and Elainie..are simply the best.. as are all her staff past and present. _________________________________________________ To my wife and I this is UTOPIA.. we have also many . very . many friends who return year after year.. Patrick & Cristina Newell /Italy We came to Mike's place the first time in 1996. Since then we alternate our summer holidays one year travelling aroung Canada in a camper, the other year doing beautifully absolutly nothing in Maleme ! If you really want to just turn off and relax, the Paraskakis family is the best help you ever could get. Mom Elena and Dad Mike up at the restaurant, their "kids" Manos and Sofia down at the pool bar make you feel just like as at home and part of the family, only better !! This year we were travelling with my wife's brother and his wife, they enjoyed it enourmosly. My wife and me are going to back again in September, as most of our friends from the UK, also repeatedly returning. It very easy to become "addicted" to Crete and to Mike's Hotel !!! Would I reccomend this place ?? You bet I do !!!!

Have just come back from one week at mikes apartments and can only agree with everyone elses comments already put here. I just wish we had booked for two weeks. The apartments are fantastic and are kept spotless and manos and his family really look after you. Maleme is a very quite village and provides an excellent base to go off exploring the rest of the island by car. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday with friendly people then this is a perfect place to stay. some useful info taxi to chania center from maleme is approx 15 euros Is not a sandy beach at maleme although there are some close by if you hire a car (elafonisi is about 1.5hr away and is well worth the drive through the mountains ) on average two meals and two alcoholic drinks comes to around 20e and you get free fruit and raki after the meal. The waitors in malelme are all very friendly and it seemed to be the friendlier you were with them the more raki you got. Anyway if you are about to head off here all i can say is im jealous and will def be returning again soon

Thanks to the Paraskakis family (Mike, Helene, Sophi and Manos) and their 'crew', we always have a great time at Mike's Apartments. We have been going back for 4 years running to enjoy a sunny, relaxing, fun and comfortable annual holiday. This year we had difficulty finding place on flights but were determined to go, so we took a long route to get there. We flew to London Heathrow from Johannesburg via Cape Town. Then we caught a taxi to Gatwick and flew to Chania via Santorini. As always we had a wonderful time. The apartments are very well rated so, if you are looking for friendly and hospitable, very clean, well priced, comfortable accomodation, you will love it there. We do and we'll be back!!

Karen and I have visited the Mike Hotel since 1996/7, and it is Mike, Helena, Sophie and Manos Paraskakis, with Poppy and Maggie providing great support, that make a holiday so relaxing. Whether leisurely breakfasting on the terrace of the Hotel, or having a pre-dinner drink by the Pool Bar, the sunrises and sunsets will not cease to amaze you. Whilst the village of Maleme has a vibrant history, located west of Hania, it provides an excellent base to enable one to visit the far West and South coast(s) of the Island. Hiring motor cars (with air-conditioning) is not a problem and for the more adventurous, an 'open-top' 4x4 Jeep will take you to the isolated peninsular of Rhodopou, or over the mountains to Paleohora, an idyllic resort on the south coast. En route, you will enjoy superb natural scenery with many villages where you may stop and refresh. Whatever you decide, your stay at the Mike Hotel & Apartments is unlikely to disappoint you. The welcome, service and humour is abundant and freely given. Do be prepared for lots of puzzles by the Pool Bar, and beware especially, if you have sampled 'vitamins' for the day, which may include but are not limited to, 'Raki'. or 'Tsikouthia'! Consumption of either, tends to lose one's concentration abilities! Enjoy the varied Menu and do try all their traditional Cretan Cooking. Karen and I have enjoyed our visits so much, we are to be married not far from Maleme, during September 05. We shall of course be staying at the Mike Hotel, with eight of our family! What more can we say?

Our Greek hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly. They did everything to ensure we had a very comfortable and relaxing holiday. The accommodation was kept spotlessly clean and it was particularly good to have remote control air-conditioning. The property was very well looked after by the family, inside and out. The pool had 3 sections, shallow, medium & deep which were well defined. Don't have any qualms about going here - it's brilliant.

we were a bit judgemental on arrival, as a young couple we thought the resort would be a bit quite. But once meeting manos and the family we new instantly we were wrong! the resort is quite and relaxing which is what our holiday was about! the apartments were fantastic, everything was of excellent standard, and the cleanliness was amazing, maids were brilliant and the family were the most welcoming greek family we could have ever wished to meet! Manos had a great amount to tell us, he was very generous along with the other staff, manos could direct, explain and help us in everyway we wanted or needed! fabulous hotel and apartments, i definately reccommend it to any one who wants a, picturesque, friendly, relaxing, cultural and historic holiday! I loved it and will be going back several more times! brilliant!

My girlfriend and I stayed in the apartments and loved it; we had a sea view and fell asleep to the sound of the waves every evening. The place is fairly quiet but has good restaurants and bars, and if you are prepared to travel a little further you can find more lively places. This is the place to come if you want a nice relaxing holiday by the pool. Family run business and the staff and accommodation can not be faulted. I have attached a sample photo to show just how nice this place is.

Mike's was the nicest place we stayed at during our entire trip to Greece. The entire property was spotlessly maintained, the staff was extremely helpful (especially Manos), and were extremely knowledgeable about the area. Everyone was so helpful and eager to please. It is directly across from a beach, although the pool area is so welcoming and nicely laid out, you may not bother with the beach! The rooms are large and the bathrooms are spacious with lots of counterspace (and with two women travelling togther - this is a must!). The location was ideal for getting around, either into Chania or to the westcoast beaches. If you go, you must try to get to the beaches at Falasarna and Elafonisi. We intended to go to different beaches, but Manos guided us to these instead and he was right! Unbelievably beautiful beaches. I can't wait to go back!
