First time all inclusive was a fantastic experience at the Riu Paraiso.
Whats the story with the area outside, why is it so run down?
If you want to go for a walk go towards Carmen

Just returned from the Riu paraiso. What more could you ask for? Good food, drinks and wonderfull staff. And if you dont enjoy the entertainment you have no sence of humour.Well worth a visit.Only minor the smell of smoke in the drinking areas.Other than that no complaints.

maybe the best hotel i have ever stayed in. When you arrive you are welcomed by very friendly and pleasant staff who have your bags taken to your room while they send you to the bar or restaurant for 10mins while they check you in. the food is fantastic such a wide range of... more

We've just returned from a fortnight away at Hotel Riu Paraiso. We were a family of 5; 2 adults, 2 young adults (early 20's) and one teenager (16) looking for a relatively cheap, relaxing holiday and I can safely say this is what we got. The Hotel Reception was very... more

M boyfriend and I, who are both 19, went to the riu paraiso on 6th June 2010 for a week and I was so gutted to come home. It was our first holiday together and I couldn't think of a better place to stay! The hotel is catered for all ages although we were probably two of... more

We have just returned from Riu Paraiso Lanzarote yesterday, February 27 2010. We are a family of 5: Mum& Dad and 3 daughters in the ages of 15, 11 and 8. And we had a great time. The weather was really good (which is only a coincidence at this time of year). The food was... more

Initially our rooms were a great disappointment but by Sunday the Hotel had managed to find us far superior rooms that complied with our original request. We would have liked tea/coffee facilities in the rooms asit was not possible to obtain a hot drink before breakfast. ... more

Not as good as its made out to be
We have just returned from a week at Club Hotel Rui Paraiso. Having read some good and bad reviews went with an open mind as what to expect. We quickly checked in and went to our room, very shortly received a phone call from Reception to ask if everything was ok and we said yes, but found out later was not really true. We could not complain about the food for the first couple of days but found towards the end of our stay there wasn't enough choice, and each day lunch and dinner were pretty much the same. We can't comment about the other... more
great location and good value for money!
My boyfriend and i are both in our early 20's and we visited the hotel in december 2006. we were impressed with the hotel and had a great time i just want to take the opportunity to share our thoughts on some of the things which made it enjoyable and some minor problems we encountered! On arrival we were really impressed by the free bottles of water at reception and helpfulness of staff. This didnt last long however as we sent in totally the wrong direction when being directed to our room! after 20 minutes looking and a very... more
Fabulous Holiday
We stayed at the RIU at the end of November and this was our honeymoon. We wanteda relaxing break, and couldn't afford the luxuries af the Maldives (where it rained the same week) so we chose the 'safe' option of the Canaries. Having never stayed at an all inclusive resort before, we had no real expectations, but I can honestly say we loved it. I had read all the other reviews on this site before we went, and we just decided to go with an open mind. I am in my late 20's, my other half is in his early 30's and it wouldn't be the... more
Good value hotel
Just returned from a week at the Club RIU Paraiso in Lanzarote. We were all inclusive. The reps will tell you the hotel is only 5 minutes walk from Puerto Del Carmen, but really more like 10 to 15 mins, depending on your mobility. Having said that, buses right outside the hotel and only 1 euro. Taxis very reasonable, 4 euros from the harbour in Puerto Del Carmen, which is quite a distance from the hotel. The beach is literally across the road. Very large and clean, great if you have kids. The hotel itself is very large, but split... more
Great if you're after cheap, no-frills
My partner and I are in our 20's and booked our holiday through First Choice with a view to spending 7 days relaxing in a 4 star resort. Overall we had a nice time but this was mainly due to each other's company and not down to the hotel and other guests... The hotel staff were friendly, hard-working and made us feel very welcome. The other guests, however, did not. If you're planning on staying here and are British - prepare to be stared at like you're a diseased animal in a zoo. The majority of tourists staying there... more
Our Third Stay In A Riu
We stayed at this hotel from the 1st to the 15th of october 06. Its took me this long for the review as i am trying to seperate the good points from the bad. Our past riu hotels, one in the Dom Rep and one in mexico, were much much better. Both were also 4 star rating and i feel the Paraiso should have matched up to that standard" it did not". Not the beach i agree, as caribbean beaches are in a class of there own. But i found the room we stayed in was very sad and needed decorating so did a lot of the exterior around the restaurants and... more
Great 4 Star hotel for the working class
I've visited Lanzarote about 12 times in the past but normally self catering apartments. This is only the second time I've been to a RUI hotel. The last time was the Waikiki on Gran Canaria and that is what spurred us to book this hotel. The hotel on Gran Canaria was great, but a 3 star all inclusive. The Paraiso resort is a 4 star all inclusive 'resort'. It is classed as a resort because it was previously two RUI hotels, that have now been joined together by a boardwalk and it provides 3 seperate pool areas, several bars, 4 restaurants... more
Riu at its best (again!!)
This hotel is the Riu Palace/Paraiso and Patio all merged into one, it makes it a huge resort but is absolutely fantastic! There are choices of restaurants for breakfast, dinner, snacks and tea! There are many self service stations for soft drinks, hot drinks and beer. The choice of alcholic drinks is endless and there are many branded drinks available at no extra cost. There is a pool towel service, free water at reception. The animation team are brilliant and funny and do try really hard with the entertainment. I will definately be going... more
Fun week but for a Riu it needs refurbishing!
We chose this hotel on a late deal primarily as it was very reasonably priced for an all inclusive 4* and also because we have stayed at Riu hotels in the past and been impressed with their cleanliness and levels of service. First impressions were excellent – had a quick, informative and friendly check-in. Given a refreshing welcome drink to take to our rooms. Managed to ignore the receptionist’s instructions and walk in the wrong direction to our room! Chased by a helpful member of staff who directed us to the room. As it... more
as good as the other rui
stayed here for two weeks we where in the paraiso side which is joined with the old rui palace which i stayed in nine years ago, and to be honest i prefered the side i was on, convienient for everything couldnt fault food for everyone even if you are choosey, drinks free flowing, rooms very clean, the only thing was the entertainment was rubbish mite have had somthing to do with the football!! which if you arent a lover you would of hated it as the entertainment didnt start till after that buy then i was ready for my bed! yes early i no but... more
