Myrto Hotel

The real environmnet is totally different from what I saw in the website!!!! The staff is not friendly. My husband and I picked the luggage ourselves to room. Once I stepped into the room, I found the floor is broken. There maybe a hole under the carpet. TV is damaged, the toilet is dirty. I had to stay there for 2 night as I booked it via internet and supposed to hold the charge of 2-nite accommodation in my credit card. I can't sleep in the hotel, and even dare not to stay there long. This is 100% a wrong decision to pick this hotel. Alert!!

We booked this hotel in desparation as it was just after Eurovision. At 85 Euro it was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our whole trip and we stayed on the 6th floor. The lift only goes to the 5th floor so I had to lug both the cases up the last flight. My wife had to wait for the lift to empty as it wouldn't take two adults and 2 cases. The room was "renovated recently" if you compare it to the renovations of the Parthenon maybe. The timber is rotten and has just been painted over. Likewise the tiles in the bathroom. my wife and me and the 3 little children have stayed in the myrto hotel for 4 nights in their quad room. the hotel is very clean, not expensive and in the best location in a very safe and quiet street very close to the main street of the plaka.

Athens is a noisy city which never sleeps. The Plaka is a really popular area to stay because it is relatively quiet and close to the Acropolis. So we were delighted to stay at the Myrto for only 39 Euro/night (possibly an internet special) in a safe area only 5 minutes walk from airport bus route.
