The dirtiest and most scruffy hotel I have ever stayed in.
I had arranged a surprise trip to Madrid for my partner for her 40th birthday. We had visited Madrid before, three years previous and loved everything about it. This time I had arranged to take our best friends with us as an added srprise.
Imagine my embaressment on arrival at the Mayorazgo. I was absolutely appalled with the service (having to drag our bags in off the street and then drag them up to our rooms). I could only describe the rooms as 1 star (do not be fooled by the web site or brochure which talks of traditional decor - it is another way of saying dingy). This hotel claims to be a 4 star. I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels around the world but this was definately not one of them. The lack of support from First Choice was probably the most frightening aspect of our trip. They said that they would locate another hotel for us however we would have to pay for both hotels.
Never again will I book with First Choice as when travelling I think we all need that feeling of security from our tour operators, whereas First Choice appear to take the money and run - the customer is not important.
