Tharroe of Mykonos

This was the first stop on our honeymoon and we were quite pleased with Tharroe. We stayed here for three nights in October 2006. The hotel has a small and charming feel that we enjoyed. Since we arrived rather late the first evening, we ate at the hotel restaurant and are glad we did. We stayed at Tharroe of Mykonos for three nights in early June 2006. Traveling with 4 girls for our 30th birthday, our perspective was benchmarked against many other properties since we had been traveling in Italy and Greece for 15 days. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find our quad room was not very clean. The bedspreads were dirty; one of the bathrooms did not appear to be clean and had no amenities (e.g. toilet paper, towels). The only thing that upset me was that the web page said that the hotel was on the outskirts of the town. Really this hotel was in the middle nowhere, to say this was a bit unethical to say the least. All my advice to other travelers traveling to Mykonos is to check the address of your hotel/hostel before you book as many say that there in the around the town but in fact they are in the rural areas of the island. This seem to common in this area as this was the second hotel that decived me on this matter.

When you want to be away from the noisy center of Mykonos town, this is the place. There is a friendliness that comes from not being over run by needy guests, and thus you can find someone to answer your questions, or solve a problem at almost any time. I contast this with the large places, where a guest often has to wait in line to satisfy their needs. We had other friends staying in places like that, but preferred our choice. We stayed at this property for three nights as part of a package we booked through gate1travel. The hotel is perched on a hill just up from the main town on Mykonos. It's about 3 to 4 euros to take a taxi to town (which we would recommend because the roqad are narrow, no sidewalks, and fast drivers). stayed here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, what can i say but perfect in every way. The views were to die for, built on top of a hill, views to the sea, harbour (watching the cruise liners etc coming and going) and the town below. We paid extra and had a suite, well worth it 2 large rooms and 2 balconys with great views of pool and sea and beyond, very clean and bright with comfortable double bed. My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in Oct 2005. The hotel was excellent, clean, well furnished, modern rooms - everything you would expect from a Luxury Hotel !! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent from the included buffet breakfast to the dinner on the covered patio. The location is spectacular !! Sunsets, with cocktail by the pool - incredible ! Very Highly recommended.

My cousin recommended Tharroe of Myconos hotel - My brother and 2 friends stayed here - The hotel was perfect - The location could not be any better - It was far enough away from the center of town that you didn't have all the commotion, but close enough that you could walk there in 15 minutes. Trying to pitch itself as a deluxe hotel, Tharroe falls short of the most basic requirements of a C-class hotel.Here is a list of some of the problems we encountered: the air conditioning did not work sufficiently and the room temperature was close to 30 degrees day and night; none of the other appliances in the room such as the tv or hairdryer worked; some of the rooms lack a balcony or any outside space; the pool, built on a hill top above town, offers no shelter from the usually strong winds, so swimming and sunbathing are impossible on... more

A superb hotel of incomparable quality with exceptionally helpful staff, beautiful classic Greek decor and that quintessentially Myconian charm. The views are breathtaking and the service and food excellent. Rooms are fully equipped and as clean and as comfortable as you could ever desire. I cannot recommend this fabulous hotel enough. It's THE place to stay, especially if you wish to rub shoulders with the stars in more ways than one! Highly recommended.
