Scorpios Beach Studios & Apartments

Booked this holiday on-line, less than 2 weeks before departure. July weather was fantastic - hot and sunny. Wind kept the temperature a couple of degrees lower, which kept it bearable, but certainly created large waves at the beach. Pool is a good alternative with nice pool bar, and good shower/ changing facilities (also available if you have a late departure home and have been required to check out of your room earlier.) Scorpios Beach hotel apartments is a designated Greek 4 star hotel, family owned and managed. Argiros is the hotel manager /owner and his wife, Jennifer, assists in the cafe and general hotel. It is the only hotel on Monolithos Beach and is situated opposite the main seafront and next door to the old closed down Tomato factory. we booked our holidays (me and my wife) with first choice, we arrived at Thira Airport and we did get a scaring welcome from first choice agent…(she said: I know that you didn’t sleep last night…me either… but now you need to listen to me because I am not going to repeat that twice..) We arrived at the Hotel reception with other peoples but unfortunately there was nobody in there...After 5 minutes of waiting a young man came saying that our rooms are not ready yet... and when we asked him when it will be possible to access the room... more

I took my 16 year old daughter away for a week to Monolithos. We had a lovely stay at Scorpios Beach Hotel. We were initially a little surprised at how uncomercialised Monolithos was, but soon became used to the peace and quiet. The beach (black sand) and landscape were a little barren but, on the plus side, we had it to ourselves. The loungers and umbrellas belonging to Scorpios Beach Hotel were provided free of charge which was a bonus as we had to pay for them at Kamari and also further down the beach at Monolithos. + location of hotel is very close to the beach + short walk to bus stop that goes to Fira, scenic view along the way - last bus to and from Fira is 8.30pm. Too early. - kitchen is poorly equipped and utensils don't look clean - water supply in the bathroom is salt water, just not as salty as the sea water. - mattresses on the beds are extremely hard. - breakfast not too good + hotel staff is quite friendly Traveller from Norway
