One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had and certainly tops for Marrakech. House is beautiful, built around three lovely courtyards, staff attentive, friendly, and charming, but the standout thing here is the food-- we lingered over breakfast and kept hurrying back... more

We, (a group of 6 friends from UK), stayed in Marrakech at Riad Al Moussika Hotel, ( http://www.riyad-al-moussika.com/ ) in June and had a wonderful experience! The staff was great from the moment we arrived. Everyone was friendly, we received incredible rooms with terrace... more

We just returned from a 5 day holiday in Marrakech. Riad Al Moussika was our base to explore the medina and for trips to the coast and to the Atlas mountains. The riad is a carefully and tastefully restored historical building which offers a quiet retreat after a busy day... more

My wife and I stayed at Riad Al Moussika hotel for four nights in early January, and it was definitely one of the highlights of our journey to Morocco! Our choice of the hotel was made completely on the suggestion of Daniel Jacobs on The Observer, Sunday December 21 2008,... more

The Riyad Al Moussika, ( www.riyad-al-moussika.com ), where I spent with friends a long weekend at the beginning of our journey to the south of Morocco in early January, is a place that has stopped time, where the magical atmosphere, relives Morocco of Pasha of 1800, but... more

Great Place
We had agreat stay here, the lads really looked after us and the food was amazing. The suites are out of this world and you get what you pay for. Giovanni's advice was great on places to go etc and arranging cabs, guides but i must say i found him hard to take at times - I had a few issues with him and his manner. He has turned this riad into a paradise and know's it - if you can get past this then you'll really enjoy your stay here.
A dream holiday and a dream Riyad.
Well what can we say more: We had an absolutely amazing time in Marrakech and what made it so fabulous was Riyad Al Moussika. We will certainly mention it to our friends and family as it really is worth a visit. We were extremely impressed with the way the owner, Giovanni, made time to meet and greet his guests with his expertise and wealth of knowledge. It made us feel so welcome that he took time out to speak to everyone which was very helpful as we know he was extremely busy. We were most impressed with the fact that one moment we were in a hot and dusty street with the noise of snake charmers, acrobats and story tellers, a cacophony of loud noises from the beating of the drums and many instruments of the musicians, and immediately before you lies a huge wooden door with 17 emblazoned on the top and the door is opened to what can only be described as a perfect world of tranquillity, a sight to behold. The luscious blue water of the swimming pool, the beautifully hand decorated decor, the luxurious fabrics used for curtains and upholstery and if that wasn't enough, the wonderful fragrance surrounding the courtyard and the garden. The delicious lunches were obviously conjured up by a man passionate with his love of cooking and thankfully it was gratefully received from two people with a love of excellent food. The staff were superb at his job and nothing was too much for them. A dream holiday and a dream Riyad. Carole and Lynne Simons
A lovely stay
We had a lovely stay at Riyad Al Moussika. It was a very good finish to the end of our week in Morocco. The property is lovely (we still can't get over our splendid and enormous bath) and the staff were most helpful and welcoming. Breakfast and lunch were quite delicious and so generous that we returned home feeling that we didn't really need to eat for a week! Giovanni's advices about what to see, where to eat and how to get around in Marrakech was most welcome, particularly as we had little real idea of what to expect. Thanks to his pointers we found our way around really very easily and wandered around to our hearts' content discovering as much as we could. We enjoyed our first visit to Morocco so much that we are keen to return soon. Charlotte & Nicholas
The level of personalized service was exemplary
We had a wonderful stay that recently at Riad Al Moussika. Marrakech was in itself a memorable experience, enhanced further by the knowledge imparted and recommendations made by the team of Riad Al Moussika, allowing us to experience the finest that the region has to offer. The level of personalized service was exemplary and no problem (even a cancelled flight!) was insurmountable – thank to Mr Robazza's efforts. I hope that many other South Africans get to experience his hospitality! Patrick Barrett
Excellent Riad
This is a lovely Riad that is only 5 minutes walk from Djemma-al-Fna (the centre of the Medina). Very high quality property with highly attentive and personalised service. I would recommend this without reservation to anyone who is visiting Marrakech. Positives: 1. Lovely property. The internal decoration and design is easily as impressive as the finest palaces and hotels in Morocco. The two central courtyards (one with pool, one the dining room) are delightful. Room decoration is personalised in traditional Moroccan palace style. 2. Great location. Just 5 minutes from the centre of the Medina, but taxis can get to within 30 seconds walk of the front door, and its no more than 15 minutes to the airport. Hard to beat this. 3. Great service. Very personalised service, and highly attentive. Good recommendations on everything from eating out to zouvenirs from the owner Giovanni Robazza and his excellent team. Negatives: 1. The roof terrace is underutilised. It is a lovely roof terrace, and we felt it could be used for breakfast and evening drinks. As it stands, you can use it, but there is not much up there. 2. No seating around the pool. It is not really possible to sit and sunbathe around the pool. If that is what you want, then you will be better served at one of the big hotels. Overall this is a great place to stay in Marrakech. The attention to detail, personalised service, local knowledge, location and quality of the property are all excellent.
Riyad Al Moussika : A dreamlike sanctuary
Riyad Al Moussika gave us a wonderful, memorable break in Marrakech: It is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in. It is a dreamlike sanctuary from the hustle bustle of Medina, but located very conveniently to all attractions too. We loved sitting in the courtyard listening to the flowing water of fountains. Very relaxing. Our room was simply magnificent - beautifully decorated walls and ceilings, luxurious curtains, and what an impressive bathroom! The fresh roses added some personal touch too. The service of staff was impeccable. Food really was top class…faultless. We will certainly come back some time in the future and will recommend Riyad Al Moussika to our friends around. Tamae
First class hospitality and service
The hospitality and service of Riad Al Moussika will be a measure against which we will judge all future travel lodging. Our suite was elegant and comfortable. The meals were delicious and pleasantly served in the beautiful courtyard. The details, down to the fresh roses in the bedroom and the fountains, did not go unnoticed. The entire staff was helpful and--in addition to the interesting conversations with the owner, Giovani--why we count our first visit to Marrakech truly memorable. Sheldon Campbell
Wonderful jewel in Marrakesh
After a difficult & longer than expected journey from Casablanca to Marrakesh, it was such a joy to step from the dusty, dirty alleys into Riyad Al-Moussika. The setting is wonderful and the attention to detail is evident everywhere. The riyad is different from many others in that there are several courtyards & terraces. There is an overwhelming sense of calm and quiet. Many rooms look out onto different areas & some have private outdoor spaces. (Most riyads and dars have one central courtyard into which all rooms open.) Additionally, the library, music room & lounge are wonderful spaces for relaxing.. You truly feel as if you are staying in your own palace. The pool is a mini-lap pool, but still larger than many others. The service and food are first-rate. It's as if someone had taken the staff & training from a 5-star international hotel (Peninsula or Mandarin Oriental) and placed it in a small private setting. Giovanni, the owner, has done a fabulous job of creating and staffing an oasis. There are a few quirks in dealing with the owner. He presents you with your bill very soon after coming into the hotel. Also, there was a tendancy to recommend restaurants and tours that seemed a bit a bit conservative. Typically, the only option offered was a guided tour with a driver or an expensive restuarant with an expensive taxi package. We didn't care about spending the money, but felt that the options offered didn't help you give a true sense of the city. Also, we were able to get taxis ourselves for a fraction of the price (1/5 to 1/2 the price depending on yuor bargaining skills). Granted the reserved car is a Mercedes vs. a local petit cab, but it's usually a 20 year old Mercedes w/o a/c anyway...
A dream!
I'm still dreaming about the beautiful time I spent at Riyad Al Moussika. Recalling the lovely food prepared by the Chef Khalid and served by the charming staff in the peaceful yet exotic setting has become one of my favourite pastimes. The kindness and hospitality of the owner, Mr Robazza, were much appreciated and his fascinating repartee made our birthday dinner a night to remember! I look forward to many more visits. Gioia
Exquisite luxury, palatial comfort, perfect tranquillity !
It is hard to let Marrakesh go. Having returned 2 days ago we have done nothing but talk about it, linger over photographs, even dreaming of the evocative throbbing of the Medina. It is a magical place; the city is an onslaught on all the senses - sights, sounds, colours, smells, tastes, all so vivid, so intense, words can do it no justice. Yet at Riad Al Moussika, the accommodation provided the perfect antidote, an unimaginable contrast, a haven to recover before the next foray out. Giovanni, the owner and his son Khalid, the chef, really know how to provide exquisite luxury, palatial comfort, perfect tranquillity, beautifully designed space, impeccable service and discretion. A special mention to the wonderful staff who offered unfaltering professionalism with a personal touch. Julie and Peter Repper
