Perfect!
from Billy-the-Fish-67
My best friend and I went to Marrakech for a very short break away from partners and kids. She arranged it all through hipmarrakech.com which was very easy and efficient. We decided on Dar el Souk due to it's very central location. We were met at the airport by a friendly and honest taxi driver who then dropped us off in the nearest square to be met by a guy with a cart to wheel our luggage to our destination. All very efficient. We had the warmest and most personable welcome. Refreshing mint tea, biscuits and a really good chat...

What is left to say?

The problem is that their is little new to add to the reviews preceeding this. This is a truly magical place superbly and efficiently run, stunningly beautiful and evocative and a real haven amidst the madness of the mdina. Probably impossible to find without the benefit of a taxi and cases carrier which is intelligently provided by the management to all who visit. Ian and Madeleine seem to have the secret of communication with the locals and they are so efficient ,aided by a lovely totally honest and unpushy staff. Our room,...

Abs amazing

Riad El Souk was fantastic in every way imaginable...the Riad itself was an aura of calm amongst the hecticness of Marrakech. It was a beautiful place to stay, just like being in your own place...it was light and airy with all the home comforts, had comfy lounge area, breakfast when you wanted and a terrace area to just relax in ...all under a reasonable price. The people who owned this were incredibly knowledgeable advising us on what to do and where to go...Maddy's restaurant insight was perfect for us. The food was delicious at the riad...

fantastic riad
from pilchardanddillon
We had a great stay here. Very close to the bustling centre, behind a closed door "Dar el Souk" was an oasis of coolness and calm. Wonderfuly decorated, plenty of room, clean. A roof terrace was lovely for breakfast or evening drinks. Best of all was Madelaine who owns the Riad - she was full of information about getting the best out of Marrakesh, every restaurant recommendation was superb. We would definitely stay again.
Dar El Souk - a Marrakech gem.
from YorkshireTwig
Having never been to Morocco before I'd no idea what to expect. We were recommend to stay in a Ryad to experience Marrakech at its best and Dar el Souk did not disappoint. Winding our way through the alleyways with our porter was daunting and a shock to the senses and when we turned down a dead end and saw a little sign 'Dar El Souk' I must admit I was worried. I needn't have been. The Ryad was superb. The rooms, the attention to detail, the ambience - all there and more. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The owners...

Amazing Riad, Perfect Location!
from Yoyo81
Dar el Souk is a beautifully decorated, spacious and clean riad in a perfect spot in the medina. Compared to the hustle and bustle of the souks it is a haven of peace and relaxation! The rooms in the riad are clean, spacious and every detail thought of including bottled water, snacks etc and they have all mod cons including air con. Most rooms have a private outdoor area which was also lovely. We didn't eat in the riad apart from breakfast which consisted of pancakes, fresh breads and pastries -all delicious! The staff are all very friendly...

The friendliest , most relaxing and romantic place we have ever stayed
from JamesPolly
We stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The location was spot on, close to the main square but far enough away to be peaceful and relaxing. The hotel staff couldn't do enough to help including surprising us with a bottle of champagne and a room strewn with rose petals (this was completely their idea with no prompting from us!!). In addition they recommended some great restaurants and lots of ideas on what to do, whether it was wondering around the Souks or visiting the Majorelle gardens.<br...

Perfect place to stay in Marrakech
from SuitcaseSussex
This was a delightful place to stay - very conveniently placed in the centre of the city yet a real haven away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. The riad is beautifully kept with lovely balconies and a roof terrace overlooking the central courtyard. Our room was cool and shady (and air conditioned) and we were very well looked after by the local staff. The owner was extremely helpful and gave us insights into the city and its culture which all added to the experience. We would certainly return.
Lovely riad in the middle of the Medina
from wondering-toes
My friend and i stayed at Dar el Souk for 2 nights over the August bank holiday weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The building itself is 400 years old and it is a beautiful structure, very tastefully refurbished and decorated by Iain, the owner, and his wife Alessandra. We stayed in the twin "smataroom" which was very clean, pretty and well kept. The top floor of the riad has a roof terrace where you can roast in the sun and help yourself to the bar, which operates on an honesty system. The middle 2 floors have their own little patio...

Lovely Riad
from JeNiUk
My Husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. We were unsure at what to expect, but it had good reviews so we were looking forward to the stay. When we arrived in Morroco the riad had arranged a taxi to meet us at the airport, after the short taxi ride we arrived in the centre of town. The riad is right in the middle of the old town and can not be reached by car. The owners had arranged for a cart to carry our bags and we followed on foot through the dusty alley ways. The Riad itself was delightful, clean and refreshing.<br...
