Sarnic Hotel

This hotel is a very pleasant boutique hotel which is centrally located on one of the major streets in Sultanahmet, only a couple of minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. Compared to most of the similar standard hotels in the area, the rooms are larger and have a more airy feel to them. We booked two rooms for three nights direct with the hotel. Finding availability and making reservations could not have been easier, the hotel were prompt to reply and arranged a first class transfer to and from the airport. We found the staff to be really informative and polite The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms have a good mini bar, TV, hairdryer and shower, what else does one need. I had a very mixed experience at this hotel and ultimately would not recommend it. First the positive aspects. The bathroom was clean and supplied with soaps and shampoos and toiletries. The fridge was well stocked. The desk staff spoke English well and were pleasant. There was a bell boy to take up your bags and an informative hand-out about visiting Istanbul. My husband and I had an excellent time staying at this historic boutique hotel in Istanbul. The location was fabulous, very near the Blue Mosque, which made it easy to access the many interesting sights that Istanbul has to offer. The hotel was comfortable, clean and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant where we enjoyed breakfast each day was delightful with views of the city and the food was excellent.

I recently enjoyed a two week stay at the Sarnic and highly recommend this hotel to those seeking warm, charming and immaculate accommodations in Istanbul. The hotel is ideally located on a well-known, yet relatively quiet street in Sultanahmet, just a stone's throw from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. One can enjoy all of Sultanahmet's attractions by foot -- or easily hop on the tram at the Sultanahmet station to ride down to Eminonu or to the area north of the Golden Horn. The hotel was OK, but nothing great. Staff were aloof, and very business-like. Not terribly helpful.

My Wife and I just finished spending 8 days at the Hotel Sarnic in Istanbul. Positives 1) The positives of this hotel are that it very clean and it is located in a fabulous location if you want to be close to all the tourist sites this is a fine spot. 2) The price is very good There are however some problems with Hotel Sarnic 1) There are no alarm clocks or clocks of any type in the rooms this is very disorientating if you have jet lag. 2) The Bathrooms while adequate have very small showers and if you are... more

Just returned from a two week stay at the Sarnic in the Sultanhamet district of Istanbul. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. Yes, there are the usual glitches that make you long for your shower or bed at home, but the staff at the Sarnic does everything to make you feel like you're family. There are three front desk staff...day, evening and night. The front desk manager, Mehmet, is helpful, informative, and fun and you feel as if you've known him all your life. Maybe my expectations were too high after reading all the glowing reviews on this website, but I was not terribly impressed with the Sarnic. All in all we stayed at 4 different hotels in Istanbul, all in the Sultanahmet neighborhood, none were phenominal, so it is probably a pretty average hotel for the area.
